Is it me or does Solas look a bit broken as well? I hadn't noticed it before as I haven't played in a while and I don't much care for Solas, but I wanted to (at least try to) befriend him this time, so I actually bothered to talk to him in Haven and... yeah. That's when I noticed. That doesn't seem right either.

Yes, he has a regular elf model so he is broken. If not for his armour that covers it to some extent, then he would look like any other elf schlemiel in this game: broken and glued

This may not be a bug, but the overall look of the male elf seems so weak. I know they are a downtrodden race; marginalized and ostracized by most of the world, but still.

Besides their negative body language, the overall frame is that of a skinny girl or 10 year old boy. Hard to fee like much of a bad ass with the body of a short super model.

Are elves supposed to be lithe, svelte, ethereal perhaps? Sure. But that doesn't mean looking like bone-thin waifs.

Is there going to be the possibility of user-made mods where the body can be modified? I play elves in every game I can, but I just can't stomach these guys any more. I am stuck playing a boring human.  ;)

Other than that whining rant, great job, BioWare!  :D

TOTALLY agree with this!

I had made an elf mage character, and trying to make him as masculine as I could. I couldn't do it.

I noticed that with Solas they did a great job of contructing his back and shoulders. His posture is great- he looks like someone who could whip around and do damage. But my elf? Just limp everywhere, a narrow-shouldered sad sack.

Qunari and human males have no issues.

PS- I have issues with everyone's skull shape though. Even Solas. They look squished from the top. It makes most of the hair options even more hideous.

I was sad to see they made an elf character bald. I mean, elves love hair. They LOVE hair. Even with him being a loner, I don't think he would be doing the upkeep of shaving his head every day with a dagger. He'd braid his hair to keep it out of the way.

/rant

lol. Now I'm just imagining Solas immaculately shaving his hair with a dagger every morning. xD

Ugh...almost two weeks now since I stopped playing and I just can't seem to bring myself to click on the startup icon. <_<

Solas isn't as thin as male elves, just like Sera isn't as thin as females.

Once again:

Sera- Human body model, not elven.

Solas- Better modelled default outfit. Have you ever compared Solas and PC in the same armor? I wont believe you did, till you share screenshot with noticable difference.

Thanks.

Some outfits you put on Solas will revert him to the base elf body that your pc has, causing him to have the same anorexic look. Aside from that, his base outfit as Kiitosu put it is far better modeled.

Its kind of messed up. Solas was given a unique, well modeled default body and outfit, and Sera was given a human base body, and they showed this to customers while promising us that elves would look awesome. And then we actually bought the game and created our first elf pc.

This.

On all levels.

Blatant misrepresentation. There is no other way to put it. They lied to us and now that they have our money- they don't care that we're calling them on the lie.

I've learned though. If I ever buy another Bioware game it will be in one of Origin's < $10 sales, and I will be buying it digitally so I have the option to refund it if it is a pack of lies. Which I would have done with this one if I hadn't bought a disc.

I have no idea what gaming places to write to Lord Surinen, but I have thought perhaps we could start a Facebook wall of shame with pics of our broken armed inquisitors. If enough people want to participate, I'll set it up...

There is no point in it. They said the problem is under investigation. Making more pics and stuff, is like making noise they won't hear. If they do know about the problem, and are going to fix it, they will. If they aren't going to fix the problem, then they will not, not matter what.

They could react , if they wanted, long ago.

P.S.: Other subjects/problems/questions people post on this forum are not answered as well. Just few generic messages from Bioware. I still believe the problems mentioned will be fixed, as for other fixes, those will come from mod community, and nothing will make developers produce patches faster.

I prefer to keep it going. The more examples we produce the stronger effect on the community. After 5 weeks I find all of it highly disturbing.

I have no doubt they aren't going to fix it. None at all.

I just want to get my own back in some small way since they screwed me out of $90 with their lies.

I still have hope that some lovely modder will be motivated by the urge to play a decent male elf.

But Bioware? They do not give a rats behind. That has been made abundantly clear on so many issues that it cannot be in doubt.

I have paid 219zł (62.68 USD) for this game, It is quite a lot of money. I did not only receive broken and glued elves but also I can't set english subtitles in polish version because it is region locked. They have also decided to cut some unique armours from SP and give it to MP:microtransactions.

After 5 weeks of waiting I would expect to get fixed models 'NOW!'.

Surinen, if you could please locate footage of the single player armors that allegedly went to multiplayer that would be helpful to me as I try to formulate my own opinion on the situation.

LunaFancy, in which country did you buy the game? (If you don't mind my asking.)

The Devs have said that all companions have their own unique bodies. So I don't think the PC shares the same body as Solas

Many more there http://forum.bioware...or-pics-thread/. Unique armours that should be in SP. This one particular, I have seen him during gameplay videos.

Just for clarification the 12 "classes" in multiplayer are in fact specific characters and agents of the Inquisition and they appear as NPCs in single player at Skyhold in their respective armours. Like companion characters they all have unique default armours that were made especially for their character design. These designs weren't stolen away from the PC. They're more akin to Varric's coat or Cassandra's Inquisition armour.

The basis of multiplayer is that you are the poor sods that get sent out on War Table missions. So they are specific unique NPCs and appear both in single and multiplayer. If you haven't tried multiplayer then you've likely unknowingly walked by them countless times at Skyhold and overheard them talking and just dismissed them as background trimmings.

I am going to ****** about this till they fix it. Qunari have not a single unique armor for single player(vitaar aside) but in MP we can see some nice gear. What was the reasoning for cutting this? Why limit SP options? Last time I checked this was a single player focused game...

They were stolen and put behind grind and encouraged microtransactions. These armours were originally available for the Player Character: it was presented to us during gameplay promo video.  Arcane Warrior wears recoloured Abelas outfit. More apologism and rationalisation of ill intent. You do wonderful job for a BioWare. It must be this legendary 'reasonable' pattern of behaviour.

These type of comments add nothing to the discussion. I'd suggest you stop doing that unless you don't mind the risk of this thread getting closed.

Did you not read Kittou just above you ?

He took the time to check this info for people here with the modders' toolkit.

The question becomes how much are they going to change the Male Elf in the inevitable fix?  Will they just reassemble the way the bones are in the skeleton to stop arm clipping and crushed arms? Will they go the extra mile and maybe redo the model all together and fill out the elves a bit so they aren't so anorexic, thicker arms/chest/legs, wider shoulders?

I don't think many people are happy with the way the elves are represented in DAI. I know i'm not, they're way way too skinny and undefined.  They have the body of a 11 year old boy, not a rogue/warrior raised in the wilds to hunt and forage for food. Heck even the Mages would still look half decent.

We shall see. They should at least adjust their arms to the level of Solas in his outfit. To be honest I do not care much for their muscularity, I j ust want them to work.

While the arms being bugged is a significantly bigger issue, I kind of hope they'll redo the entire models. The shoulders are way too narrow on both female and male elves, and don't get me even started on the noodle arms. I truly hope they'll revisit the elf models, but I am not holding my breath.

Its kind of weird isn't it? The modders demonstrated that the elf models in DA:I are basically identical to the ones in DA2 and yet they look really out of place in DA:I. I wonder if the human models and what not were beefed up from DA2 making the contrast stick out even worse than it would have in DA2. Or if the decision to rollback the DA2 elf design made the elves look too human in DA:I and thus highlight the contrast. Or both.

After playing elf for a while then going back to my male human mage character he looks kind of absurdly beefy. I mean I know the Circles are basically prisons but do mage spend all their time vindictively pumping iron in the Circle courtyard? >.>
