I actually had my human male mage do the elf arm glued to ribs thing in a cutscene today. Weirded me the hell out. Something looked wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it. Wrong and familiar.
So its spreading. ><
9th week approaches. BioWare, BioWare where is my fix? Broken-glued arms are still in my game.
I don't know what tmp7704 was referring to specifically, but this is what I found. It's more "non-news", but it's something and in this case, for me, something is certainly better than 9 more months of nothing lol.

The next patch is close. Once we have it locked we will have more details. Not locked yet. I realize this isn't a very satisfying answer
I just wish they can fix the backwards-alien-broken-arm thing. Also, I think I experienced the "arms glued to ribs" during the cutscene directly after closing the breach.

Unless I overlooked it, I'm not seeing our specific issue. I'm out of patience and understanding and it's just irking me a bit more than a game really should. I'm going to try back in a few months and if nothing's changed, I'm just going to re-roll a human. Damn shame.

Ditto. Word of warning though- don't go for a tanned complexion in the CC, I had to bail on my first human because he ended up looking like a lacquered gingerbread man in game and in the end I just couldn't stand it any more, the graphics really don't work with a tan. At least the excessive shine just makes the paler complexions look waxy... I had hopes for an in game character appearance fix in the patch but...nope.
I have a re rolled light complexioned human still in the prologue waiting to go, but I can't face the game at all now. In a few months maybe I'll get to the end...maybe. In fact I've gone right off fantasy rpgs after this so for the moment I'm learning to fly a space ship in Elite Dangerous. Eventually I'll get out of the training modules and head off to explore the galaxy.
No elves to disappoint me there- hooray!

Bah, what does it matter anymore? I've lost faith. If this 'hitchy' conversation patch isn't the fix, I'm throwing in the towel for good. I'll beat the game with my broken elf, and that will be that. Bioware will seriously have to impress me with ME4 and DA4 (and only if the reviews from fans after the release convince me to waste money on these games again) to get back my loyalty as a fan. As it stands, there are more important things ahead to look forward to. Persona 5, Zelda U, Story of Seasons, etc...
I mean...was it really such a hard request to try to fix? Its not like its a hard glitch to spot.

Which, I'm assuming is a rigging problem? (Pardon my ignorance if it isn't).
And yet...we still have the elf arm issue? An issue that affects an entire race that players may be inclined to choose?
I'm being cynical, I know, and ought to be somewhat grateful to Bioware for churning out another patch (one that apparently breaks a lot of things too, according to these forums?)

I just got my ban off.
What can I say beyond that it is a vile, repulsive insolence that should not be overlooked. After 9 weeks there is no satisfying progress. I do not know how they were looking into this issue, probably with extended holiday's cheesecake in their eyes. I don't know, there is plenty of jobs out there, there are pavements to be made, scam pyramids to run, why bother with gaming industry if these people cannot release a working game where main races don't look like victims of hulk hugs. It is not a development schedule, the game has been released. It should run smooth NOW. I did not pay quite a lot of money to get a digital thrash that I will (well, I haven't played this game seriously) need to test. I have sent message to EA about refund.

Well, they did fix Varric's knee bends, so I'm hoping that they are at least looking at the other animation problems. Perhaps the male elf arm problem is a lot more involved than we know.
And I'm not trying to be an apologist here, but what's done is done and all they can do now is fix it. If the blame lies anywhere, it is with EA for not giving the studio enough time to make a finished game. There are many of us who have been burned by this publisher over and over again, and I really hope that something changes in the future.
I'm all in favour of this anti-noodle arm crusade. Bioware has added insult to age old injury. Maker willing Bioware will in patch 4 walk the right path and end some of the two millennia old plight of the oppressed elven people. 
I really really but really hope that in one of patches in future they actually fix "male elf b@@bs" when he is wearing casual clothing...I mean common too damn distracting.
I'm guessing that yeah, it its not easy to fix so it has to be a more complicated issue than it seems. Which means that yeah, its more likely to be in the animation system itself then just the rigging as we were discussing a few pages back. Which sucks, but there's not much more to be done for them then keep plugging away at it and fixing things at this point.
Its not as bad as some other recent high profile examples in the industry lately and its better than EA was doing earlier with crap like Simcity. But its still not good enough. Unfortunately, publishers will likely keep pushing the envelope of development time vs release date as far as they an until it really starts to cost them money and PR. Right now, it just isn't costing them enough for them to stop gambling on it. Sad as it is, consumers still haven't turned on publishing practices hard enough to stop the trend. We still suck it up and hand over money hoping hey, maybe this time it won't be so bad.
This puts developers like Bioware in an unenviable position as this thread indicates. All the blame falls on their doorstep even if the problem was not actually entirely of their making.

I'm sure they plan to or are already trying to. Its a pretty obvious problem and from this patch its clear some folks are working on rigging and animation problems. Triple A studios might be forced into the ship it now, fix it later mantra by publishers but they rarely just shrug and decide to just not fix something ( Bethesda aside. >.> ).
Origins continued to get patch support straight up till DA2 was released and I doubt we'll see DA4 any time in the near future.
I finished the game long time ago, did most of the stuff and got bored. No elf gameplay for me it seems, even if they fix it I won't be able to force myself to play this again. Way to tedious. Have fun guys!

Their utterly pathetic actions speak loud. Not only, they have most probably enjoyed holidays that they have not deserve, but now they have released another patch with no fix for main race, but fix for varric boots.
So is it confirmed that this latest patch didn't fix it? Aka, is patch 3 out yet?
