Nah phyreblade74, I completely agree. I'm perfectly content with the overall body build myself, it's just the arm glitch. It's glaring and there's no way to ignore...I haven't picked up the game since the first week I bought it because of that single issue. Really sucks...
Male Elf model and its problems?

Yeah, I can get over the weird physique, even though I'd love a broader chest and shoulders. The arms just make the narrow physique that much more ugly, in my opinion.
And then we have Solas... ugh, don't get me started... again. Maybe modders will be able to swap Solas' body model for our inquisitor's someday.

I'm okay with the body, if anything there's a weird strength in its... elfiness. The weird sucked-in bowed arms and the definition of the "boobs" on the males in their PJ's is rather disturbing though

Same. The body is fine. Its just the broken arms, and when they break they make the whole body look weird and wrong.

Ouch, it won't start up for you? They purposely sabotaged your game, Surinen. Its a conspiracy.
Anyway, I doubt we'd see a fix just a week after the 'big patch 3'.
I'm sorry for the quite late response, but I have been on my ban-pilgrimage(again).
It works again, unfortunately there still nothing for me to see in this game until they fix broken-glued male elves.
Ah yes, gigantic patch 3 followed by the monstrosity bearing the 4th seal. Well, it bears some kind of optimism, if the '4th patch' was a patch then I can think of myself as cosmonaut because I can jump.

Solas has the same body as PC, it is his special attire than makes him look better. I guess, they didn't bother to adjust armours for elves. $$$$$$

Does Solas really have the same body? Wow. Solas looks normal (for an elf). My male elf Inquisitor has tiny shoulders compared to his head, no muscle, and strangely bent arms.
To my dismay, I failed to install a mod to change his "pajamas" to look somewhat more ... masculine. I'm not a sexist, there's nothing wrong with a feminine guy, but just not this guy. This guy is a butch man-elf, contrary to his quite feminine appearance.

Yeah, the modders found Solas's base body and its the exact same as the pc elf. The difference is in the default clothes he wears.

Now, if they release elf focused dlc and keep currently broken-glued models then well, it will be something to look at. DA:I is still waiting for me to launch it and complete, probably it won't happen soon.

I've been looking into playing as a human and then changing the race value to have the game treat me as an elf, but so far the value keeps resetting and is likely checked against another as of yet unknown value. This is still the best path I can see towards future enjoyable "elf" gameplay though. If you think BioWare has a team of people working around the clock on the elf model problems, I'd think again. Given the amount of obvious and easily corrected issues still remaining (abilities not comboing properly, tiles being unreachable, etc) my guess is the elf thing will never be officially addressed.

I rerolled a human and their skyhold outfit body shape is even worse. He looks like Mac from Always Sunny who thought he put on mass, when in reality it was mostly just body fat.
looks slimmer with body armor. which leads me to believe the issue is not just the male elf model but also the skyhold outfit for each race. The elf outfit looks ridiculously slim, like a bodysuit, but the human one looks so bulky.

Well... my Elf inquisitor had some serious neck issues ._.'
What a spineless guy! That bulge indicates either that his neck skin is in fact a pair of pants which would be rather unique for elves to have reproductive organs at the back of their heads or his spine separated from the skull. I knew that Thedas is quite a dangerous place, but I never thought it went this far.

To be fair, the elves in DA2 had the same horrible neck issues. It really amazes me how they could have such talented animators on their team, for example, the ones who animated the facial expressions, and then not be able to animate the bodies correctly.

Actually that base naked body was just the default that's not seen anywhere normally. Iron Bull theoretically got regular male Qunari body but he looks nothing like that, even in his romance scene when he's naked.
Each companion has somewhat unique body in clothes that are specific for him or her. I've read that Vivienne has for example broader hips than regular human female PC, and similarly Sera is a bit thinner than human PC. Solas has much broader shoulders and generally looks more athletic than elf male PC. Those are all separated models.

Are you sure he's still alive? Maybe an assassin came along, snapped his neck, snuck off, and no one has noticed

Also...news from the modding peeps!!
Okay this is more like it, mesh actually reflects my modifications this time. So basic mesh import is in. Right now only static mesh and vertices, but will add normals, texture coordinates, and hopefully skeletal meshes.
Also...Ottimus has put up a mod that imports some of the DA2 tattoos into the game for humans. This is extremely useful for later in the game, for those who know why.

I can't give to much info because its sort of a spoiler in the later part of the game. But basically...if you really care about things(or someone) being the way they were in the...past...per say....these tattoos are really necessary. ![]()

All hail the mighty modders! We shall have our elves one day people...one fine day. ![]()
Until then I'm back to a hooman, with pale complexion and an assortment of lovely mods that erase many of the visual eyesores that made me cringe. I still like my guy so there's start. Maybe I'll finish this time? If nothing else I have leaned that the unshaved long hair that looks awful in the CC actually works well in the game. Go figure!

Do we need to Kickstart this thing already lol? I'll gladly pay a good modder or mod team if Bioware insists on ignorance as the primary tactic lol. TAKE MY MONEY!!!
