His biggest issue is with the broken arms, not the actual body model itself. The body model looks extremely out of proportion compared with the head (most noticeable when wearing Skyhold jammies). If Bioware had given him broader shoulders and a little more muscle mass, he would probably still be considered thin, but it would not look so disproportionate.

Pretty sure it's not the case in the context of that particular post, as he makes no mention of the broken arms and it's just talk about 'looking manly', width of the shoulders etc.His biggest issue is with the broken arms, not the actual body model itself.

Egh, must have read some his earlier posts then.
While this guy is terrible with words and comes across as rude most of the time, his complaint is pretty valid in my opinion.

If I find something disgusting then I will say so. It is a game, if they were to make them a sweaty greasy lard pit of fat then I would express my disgust for it too, just like I have expressed my disgust for Cassandra, Harding and few other characters(I'm sure there are similar to them real people too). Body shaming? Is this some kind of new parasitic strain lurking under the skin of tumblr? I didn't know it go so far as to ban commentary on fictional characters. I have no time nor will to express myself with political correctness and its vile tentacles. Yes, they should man up, drink and eat whatever Solas drinks and eats and do some exercises. Male elves are not only broken and glued but also looks like whimps. This is not how the Dalish were portrayed on the official art in times of DA:O. Hell, even if they were to eat and drink they would not look good because their bones are deformed and out of touch with healthy proportions which is a result of broken bones partially. They look suspiciously young when you put them near Solas 'lad, let's compare size of our shadows har-har'.

Seriously, the romance scene with Cassandra and my male elf was a bit squicky considering how young he looked. I can deal with babyfaces, after all, elves are supposed to look youthful, but the boy-bodies... yeah, kind of... gross.

Unfortunately I have seen it. Elf with a body of 12 y old boy laying near 30+ woman. Quite disgusting, vile and simply wrong. Yes, faces should look differently, the way you want them to look, there is even one skin variation with stubble for male elvhes, but for some reason you can't give them light beard (they don't grow them past stubble?). To be honest I like when my elvhes look like a walking testosterone storage but I don't mind alien and smooth ones, unless they look like little boys(DA:I). I always were into Tolkien 'manly elves' than D&D 'pretty ones'. DA elvhes have some sharp features and Solas does not look like teenager, I like it about his appearance; both face and body.
On the side-that is main note. They are going to give us black emporium. What about male elvhes still being broken and glued? Some kind of a twisted joke. It is almost half of February and the game is in its unfinished, botched form.

At this rate, I will simply have to go for Dwarves. I have no interest in playing as a human in fantasy games so I will go with male Dwarves instead of male Elves.

And I'm suggesting you keep that sort of opinions to yourself or at least word them more politely, given the manner you choose to express your views already earned you a few bans, which for a smart person should be enough to realize they're doing something that's not welcome in this place. Or at least to familiarize themselves with the site rules. If I find something disgusting then I will say so.

lol. A clothing tinter? I guess they are paying somewhat attention to the modders, as there's a mod for darkening the leather in various outfits. Well...we'll see. I'm not really expecting much, honestly. I've lost the desire to hope. But the black emporium will be a nice addition.

I know the rules. I'm certain that word 'disgusting' is not out of politeness range nor is 'man up'. I think we should not mix being polite with politically correct. My bans, except for one have nothing to do with forum rules.

Shrug, I'm still liking my elfy guy, though. Attempts to make him look overly human would bother me. If I want to play a human, I'll play a human. I'm just not interested in making a body-builder-looking jock of a fellow, is all. I like the lean frame of my smaller elf, rather.
Besides, there's something poetic about a little elf going up against a huge dragon:

Male elves look fine in most armors but, yes they need a tad more bulk to look like adults. Short, spindly thin, yes that's the lithe elf but, the need muscle definition and a tad of bulk, something like an underweight real life man that works out to maintain muscle tone, not add staggering bulk.
Being Dalish, they would have walked and carried heavy loads most of their lives so, they should be tones and have decent but not bulky muscles.

Nope, their build is fine enough. Like I said, their lithe frame makes some poetic sense, that utter incongruity when you only expect strength to be a matter of size and my elf shows that being bigger isn't necessarily going to save your rear when he smashes your face in with a shield. Nor are they humans, or should be looking like humans. So that's not a comparison I'm inclined to make, either.
I could do with some revision of how their arms hang alongside their bodies, mind you. But that's about it. Changing their entire frame, making them "bigger" -- no, I'd be unhappy with that sort of change. But that's only me, and I happen to LIKE how my guy elf looks. Whether he's in the field or in Skyhold, mind you.

Just out of curiousity do you think being masculine makes you more of a man? And do you think being manly, in the traditional sense, is something males should aspire to?

I have issues with the upper arms of the male elf model, too. But I'm good with the overall slenderness of the elf's build and frame, otherwise. I figure it's a personal preference of mine, maybe. It's all good.

That's exaclty how I see the male elf body. Something went wrong with the models. Strangely, the problem happen only with the "multirace" base armour, or to be more specific, all the armour that have the pijamas as a base. The pj is what break the elf body model. Specific armour don't have that effect.
Armour like the gray warden's robe or the kepper's robe don't have the convess arms.
the specific armour only have the slight male clipping arms in the body, but aren't broken as with with the jammies.

Oooh, I LOVE the Grey Warden Battlemage Armor.
But yeah...when it comes to the elves, my only issue is when they are in the base armors that use the skyhold outfit and the skyhold outfit itself, and when their arms become glued to their side during cinematics and cutscenes. Otherwise, they would be pretty awesome in their more lithe form. (unmodded)
But its still really bad when your elf looks like this...

Mainly...the arms bending unnaturally and painfully inward. ![]()
