The Gray Warden battlemage armour is one of my favourite in te entire game  <3

Thosa damn jammies are the true evil in the game, really!!!

Lets give love to that battlemage armor. It'll be what I beat the game in. xD

But yeah...those pjs. Luckily, there are many mods now that fix them, thanks to the amazing efforts of our modding community. ^_^

eh...mods aren't very useful. PS4 player here. Probably, since now PC players have those, will stop complaining, and the console player will be forgotten. as always.

And for what I have seen, mods don't repair the broken arms anyway. -_-

I´m so used to my deformed male elf Inquisitor by now that I probably would get an heart attack if he suddenly became normal.

His looks is part of his personality. He became Bonaparte.

I've recently started my male elf play through, and please God, Bioware, fix this awful broken arm, arm sucking into the sides problem. Every time I look at Solas or any other male elf in the game, it makes me want to cry. Why can they have an unbroken body frame? But not our character? WHY?

Does anyone know if this problem is going to be fixed in the upcoming patch 5?

It hasn't been mentioned, but nothing so far has indicated that it will be fixed anytime soon. Don't think BW has acknowledged/identified an actual problem yet.

The broken arm thing is happening to other characters too.

If you think the elf is bad you should have seen Iron Bull. Now THAT looked uncomfortable. ("Liver? Hmm, Still there. Intestines? Yeah, same place...")

In a sense.. but PC gamers tend to be accustomed to getting a fair amount of control over their games - both how they look and how they play - whereas console gamers have always been more "at the mercy" of the developers, mostly unable to change anything. It rather comes with the choice of platform.

Agreed. Usually I buy for the consoles, but when I expect a game to be moddable, I get the PC version. I even bought DAO a second time just to have it on pc when I learned it was moddable.

So on my part, when I see console players complain that they don't have the luxury of mods, I figure either 1) they don't own a computer able to play the game or 2) they brought it on themselves for purchasing the console version. *shrugs*

Solas actually has a different body model then Male Elves. He has broader shoulders and it keeps the clipping to a minimum.

or maybe BioWare should do a good job and not make the mods required to have a lookable character?

these kind of egoistic answers of pc players are what I hate.

The thing is, there's no game so complete that it can't be improved upon or tailored to suit a personal preference - and the more complex a game is, the more potential for improvement. All games that can be modded end up being modded, and no matter how many issues and needs the developers tried to anticipate, this would still be the case.

Just out of curiousity do you think being masculine makes you more of a man? And do you think being manly, in the traditional sense, is something males should aspire to?

No, male elf is the worst. No other race is broken and glued like male elvhes.

He has the same body as PC. His outfit makes him wider. BioWare at its best: covering mistakes.

Wasn't trying to be egoistic, honestly. Most of the time, its people with the console version that scold us pc peeps for talking about or whining about mods. Which is egoistic on their part to act like their complaint is the most important and everyone else shouldn't speak.

So I was just giving my honest thought about what I think when I hear a console person complain about modding. Sorry if you thought I was personally attacking you.

Don't worry, there is no possibility to run out of it. Your brain will suffer from the sight, forever.

Additionally they have made closed beta for patch with NDA attached so we don't know if it is going to be fixed.

honestly, I might hold off on the patch with all the nice mods I have. Though I do know that many of the modders, including the guy/gal behind the mod manager program itself have gotten into the patch beta. So hopefully an update for the mod manager will come quick with the new patch.

But man, Surinen. I've given up already. -_-

Yes, it does not look promising. March in a few days and NDA on patch 5 will keep us in the dark for another month probably. How they approach one of themain playable races speaks volumes about them. Still, I would like to see it corrected soon. I will not touch the game until then.

Considering activity in this thread I presume that most of elvhen fans gave up. In some way it can be called BioWare's victory over solid work. Why bother if you can release half baked product.

Yeah, I've given up. Can't even finish the game as a human because it's so tedious... I still have  hope that modders can fix the elf eventually, but for now I've  kind of moved on.

But I haven't forgotten, and it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another Bioware game before it hits the bargain bins...better yet, I'll  buy a  second hand console game so they get nothing from the transaction. ;)

Given up?  My favorite Inquisitor so far has proved to be my guy Elf, actually.  I've loved every moment of his progress through the game, so that his story is just wonderful.  As I've said repeatedly, I could do with some re-working of how his arms hang against his sides.  But everything else works well, with how I think elvhen characters should be, should look, should move -- I love my Elf dude, to be honest.

The arms are pretty much my only problem too.

regarding mods to get decent characters..

it takes time and patience to get the right look, you may need 10-12 restarts but when you get it right it is awesome, I admit they could've had better presets and hairstyles

I've pretty much lost hope as well. I'm keeping an eye on the modders and their work, but no word now that they are in patch 5 and can't talk about it cause of the NDA.

But...like Luna, I won't be pre-ordering anymore ME or DA games. Cause no amount of modding can fix what DAI lacks.

It's not about modding for a decent character- I managed just fine in the CC. It's about hope that modding will correct a glaring flaw in the male elf model- broken arms. The fact that they gave the two elf companions either a human body (in the case of Sera) or special outfits that completely change the male elf form (Solas) speaks to the fact they knew there was something wrong, but figured not enough players would be playing a male elf to bother fixing the model for that.

It's just shameful in my opinion.

Actually when I wear the Dragon armour from the Deluxe Addition Or any armour that covers the hands and bring it a more "beefy" look, seems to have no broken arms.., and its my third PT as a male elf, I just didint notice it in my second one :P

Edit here look:

No Glitch cuz of armour:  ScreenshotWin32_1302_Final.png
