I disagree. You can have the male elf impressive in armour only if you use specific pieces of armour to cover the arms, and is not so simple with the mage armour. And is quite annoyng having to choose certain pieces of armour just to not freak out looking at your own character. Is a temporary solution, not a rule to follow. It shouldn't be this way.
Believe me, I looked Solas quite a lot. He doesn't have broken arms. At least not so much that is noticeable like with the Inquisitor. His arms sometimes are too attached to the body, but I've noticed is a common bug on all the male bodyes (like, female body models seem to have start flipping the arms like birds would with wings, but males have arms too attached to the body) since I've noticed it on Bull too.
The jammies are atrocious. changing colour like you can with mods, beside being a solution only for pc players, so I and all the others console players can care less, help because colours and texture mitigate the problem, taking away the flatness of the beige color. But the result ist still of a childlike/almost teenager body, because the head seem so big in proportion with the shoulders. Expecially since all the elf you met don't have such skin tight outfit, "correcting" the model.
I almost laught when I look at my male Elf with Cassandra. And I don't want to, because I love the pairing.
And I disagree with this constant press to change up the entire elven frame to better fit someone's perception of what it means to have a "more manly" look, and I'll continue to say so, as well. I do think it boils down to personal preference. But if it's bulk you're looking for, there are character models that fit that appeal. I have no desire to play a Qunari Inquisitor, for instance -- it's just not for me, shrug. I want my elves to be slender, lithe, lean, even waif-like ... I like it, is all.
Mind you, I get that it's a personal appeal. My husband is lean as heck. He struggles to gain weight, even, has had countless doctors insist he eat more when he actually eats like a dang horse. But I defy anyone who questions his strength and determination, either. He was deployed three separate times, regularly wearing body armor that weighed so much I couldn't even pick it up, and jumped in and out of up-armored vehicles like it was no big deal at all. The man is tough as nails, protective as all get-out, and outright sexier than anyone I've ever known. And he's never weighed more than 185 pounds since I've known him, it's just mind-boggling.
I would love it if the arms on the elf model were shaped better, yes. But bulking them up? Nah! If I want a bulging chest on my guy character, I'll make a human body-builder type and be happy. Or even a Qunari hulkster, hehe! My elf is going to surprise the heck out of everyone, though, when they completely underestimate him. And I'm going to be grinning up a storm the entire while.
