I would not mind it with cat-like facial features from DAII.
Patch, where is the patch when I need it?

Not photoshopped at all. The BW version of a male elf evidently looks like a woman playing Peter Pan. ![]()

Yes they are thin but for me it is not the main reason behind my gameplay delay. I can't stand broken arms and ribs hugging. I would not mind Solas wider arms though.
I've been following this forum for a bit because I too am experiencing issues with my male Dalish Elf. The arms look fine while standing idle or just walking about, but the moment I enter a cutscene to speak to someone, the arms are pinned at the middle in the exact way much of the previous pictures are showing. I felt the need to post my own example in the hopes that someone out there in Bioware land is listening. Unfortunately, I'm struggling to figure out how to post images of my own as I don't have an account on any image archiving sites, but I suppose I can at least explain the problem.
Because the arms are so close to the torso, it also causes my character to pass his hands through anything at waist level. Oddly enough, I hadn't even noticed the issue until a scene with another npc saluted my character with a sort of right handed fist on his heart. My Inquisitor responded with the same animation...or at least he tried to lol. Instead, the bent arm made him stand there with his arm in a very awkward, upwards position. This very small thing has completely taken me out of the conversations at every juncture
I can not unsee it anymore. If any images would help the issue, I can try to find a way to upload them, but again, they look very much like the images already shown on the forum. As a reference to note, I am playing the game on Xbox One, but the platform doesn't seem to be the culprit from what I've seen so far.
EDIT: Thank you to Lord Surinen and knotsofwonders for the TinyPic tip
much appreciated. My blurry phone image is below. As stated before, it's extremely similar to the rest of the images, but here's hoping the many examples help the issue be known.

Indeed. Such bugs are horrible; immersion breaking mastery 100/100. Cutscenes make this game. It is where we are conducting the most important of choices.
I quickly loaded up the game and snapped a screencap, and this is what the elf looks like to start:

So (at least to me) not all elves are created with disjointed arms! But it does seem like some combinations of armors can cause this.
That set of armor has thicker sleeves so it covers it up. Switch to any of the adept coats and you'll see your character's frame change. Or worse, the casual clothes. Also the head doesn't scale with the body so the frame makes elf heads look huge.
God, does it look huge, yes. That head is to big for those shoulders.
@KondorHawz
Imgur is a good image hosting sight that won't charge you unless you want to purchase a paid subscription, which offers larger storage. But otherwise, it works well enough for a couple images.

Poor Inquisitor of yours. He can't stop shaving flesh off his ribs

That is a woman, it's Allison Willams.
LOL I know. I guess I didn't make that clear. Yes it's a woman playing a man. Much like these BW female elves are playing as men. ![]()
At least the size of the head finally looks right. ![]()
Yeah, I've got this issue as well. Like others have said, everything looks fine in regular gameplay. But no matter what set of armor I use, the instant I enter a cutscene, male elves' arms are glued to their side.
For what it's worth, this DOESN'T just effect player characters. It absolutely effects Solas as well. It makes certain dramatic scenes a lot less dramatic when poor Solas' arms are all deflated against his ribs, lol.

Does the vejita's syndrome effect Npc Elves as well? I haven't touched my game yet.

Oh, its the Iron Bull bear hug syndrome now. No one got the message? ![]()

Yeah that's one of the better sets of armor for evening out the proportions.

Welcome to the House of Virgo, where untouched dragons watch live transmission: Setting The Broken Arms
It looks like it does. I have seen it on other screenshots too, Solas enjoying his ribs too much. At least on Sollie it is well hidden

With Solas in his normal armor, its not nearly as noticable. That's probably because of his wider shoulders, so his arms don't sink in to the chest nearly as much as the male pc elf.
The posture of the elves are really getting to me now. At times it's like a child talking; I don't know why they thought having the arms tight in against the sides of the body looked good. I'm also noticing the head size more now. The everything about the male elf body is just so feck... it's disappointing.
I've a new desktop coming mid week and I'm really tempted to abandon my current game and re-roll as a human mage. It sucks because I'm loving how the story interacts with PC as a elf and mage - it gets up everyone's backside, it's great!
Oooh, try a qunari mage. They get even MORE angry. This guy Vierre in Val Royeax (or however its spelled) was willing to talk to my elf mage inquisitor and I could almost recruit him (but failed). I try to talk to him with my Qunari, and he just freaks out that I'll try to convert him to the Qun and refuses to chat.

And when Iron Bull saw that I was a Qunari, he about laughed his head off and gave me a friendly greeting by grabbing my shoulders and commenting that the Chantry must REALLY hate me.
Hahaha, I might just give a qunari a try so! How does it feel as a mage? Is the larger body type much of an issue?

I feel really tall. But otherwise, I haven't had any issues. My qunari looks better in the pjs then my elf at least. He's already my second favorite, and will be my second playthrough. My only complaint is we didn't really touch on the mage topic with Iron Bull. Plenty about your character being Tal'Vashoth (deserter), but not on the mage part. Still, you get some interesting dialogue with Iron Bull, and amusing reactions from some people. (Sera had an amusing reaction when she first saw I was Qunari to)
I think the big downside is the lack of armor because of a glitch. But when playing my qunari, its been pretty fun.

I know one thing, we should get a fix. I want to play the game I have bought the way it is supposed to be. For now, it works just great against me, as cutscene repellant. I run every time I launch the game.
