What is this abomination. Arm tentacle coming out of chest? Can't even tell.
You don't like Sevant's arm tentacle? I think he was just trying to match a certain main enemy abomination to abomination. ![]()
Actually, I laughed when I saw it and had to take a picture to dedicate to the forum. Knew you'd 'like' it.
I don't think I have that issue, but elves look ridiculous with 2H weapons regardless.
Oh yes, I was cracking up when he was raising a certain Inquisitor sword. My mage with these little dinky arms. He was to close to the ledge to. I was thinking...be careful, Sevant, you'll fall trying to hold that thing up. ![]()

I guess it is adorable, in its own very special way. Oh yes, I like him. English Patient such an incredible movie.
Tomorrow is monday. Patch? Fix? Rescue?
This is so annoying. I really wanted to play a male elf, but having to look at his goofy arms is kinda ruining it. It was hilarious for a while, but then it started ruining cutscenes.
Have some pictures!
I hear ya Infernisle. I had the day off work today and had such a hard time deciding whether to continue my game 20 hours in or just put it on the back burner until it was fixed. Ultimately, I chose to continue to try to ignore it as the rest of the game is quite good. Unfortunately, you CAN'T miss it anymore, it's absolutely jarring to the roleplay experience
WELL if we're posting comparisons, here's another from the intro section.
Here's my elf out of a cutscene:

Arms positioned normally, away from the body.
But then IN A CUTSCENE:

Male human for comparison:

Loud sighing.

All I can say at this moment:
now you're a man, a man, man, man.
now you're a man, a manly, manly man.
a man, man, man.
you are now a man, you're a man.
now you're a man.
To me you guys are heroes. I could not stand it at all. To expose yourself to such vile radiation, it takes courage and a lot of it.
Fractures, fractures everywhere.
Today is Monday. 2 weeks since the release. Major patch seems like an obligatory treat at this moment - the question is: how will we be treated?
With all the bugs/glitches in this game that I've personally have encountered in this game (dozens), this together with the interactive cut-scenes becoming unresponsive is the most glaring and most annoying.
It's clear this game was rushed through the final stages of development to get it in stores before the holiday season. One can only hope that Bioware has been working on resolving these issues since before actual release, but a major patch is needed to resolve numerous issues, I doubt it be any time soon. (But feel free to surprise me devs)

Ubisoft has delivered patches for both Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity. I see no reason why would I agree to expect anything less from BioWare. You do not sell broken products and then find excuses why something will take x time. If you break something and your integrity is intact then you gather people and work almost 24h/7d to get it fixed. Some people may think 'come on dude, it is just a game', no, it is a multi milliard(billion) industry and this game is supposed to be a multi million catch. I expect million worth professionalism.and dedication to fixes. Male elf model is as important as other models.
For me, it is especially noticeable for my male elf - admittedly perhaps because his body is that of a 8 year old boy. Lithe for an elf is good. Emaciated is not. But anyway, the rigs shoulders seem to be rotated down and inward causing the upper arm joint to start too far under the shoulder extension. My male's hands actually start *inside* his hips in some small conversation scenes, which, given the fact that the elves have no hips at ALL indicates a rigging problem that only accentuates an aesthetic modelling problem. The shoulders are simply designed too narrow, as though someone thought *thin* meant overly narrow bones to compensate for lower body fat on elves. If you look at any true ectomorphic body shape, the small bone structure and lithe and long body type does not extend *that* much to the skeletal structure of the shoulder width. In fact, many ectomorphs look like they have quite wide shoulders in comparison to the smaller musculature on their bodies. THAT part is not an aesthetic issue, it is a structural anatomy issue (potentially mostly with the rig, I haven't been playing long enough with my elf to compare all the way through the game yet.)
No hips? Have you seen the hips on my elf? Lol.
Yeah, the arms glued to the sides during cutscenes is getting a bit annoying. Also, I got further into my relationship with Dorian...and during the love scene for some reason my elf was raised above Dorian so it looked like he was kissing Dorian's head while Dorian was kissing his chest. Not sure if intentional or not. ![]()
At least no major armor clipping though. ![]()
He also got stuck in the T-pose after a certain cutscene, which was amusing. Luckily, a quick save and reload fixed the issue...(but that's another glitch for another topic)
Damn it Bioware I want to play my Dalish elf but I can't stand those abominations!
Just got my game from Amazon! Prepare for my report and some screens!! ![]()

It looks as if there won't be a patch today.

Can't wait!
This is what the Elves really needs.
1. No more Skyhold PJ's
2. Fixed Broken Arms (Vejita's Syndrome)
3. A hard slap from Grandma on the back to stop the Slouching
Here's a comparison of the Skyhold PJ's and 2 armors I got early on in the game:

Pic. 3

I honestly dig the look in Pic. 2, my Elf looks like he actually has some meat under that coat and his shoulders and arms seems to be the right size. Though I dunno for certain if the other armors in the game has a similar built since they scale according to "Factions/Race" That brings us to Pic. 3, my thoughts are that it looks a little to big for my Elf, like as if he's wearing his elder brothers clothing xD But its not as bad as Pic. 1..... The Skyhold PJ's.. That I believe is the main killer for this game, and it enforces the idea that Equipped Armors should be allowed in the Skyhold and maybe just have weapons removed. If that option is given to us, the next thing they can do is just to fix the broken arms! Aaaand the slouching that is found in both Solas and the Male Elf Inquisitors during dialogue scenes, though I get the feeling this happens to Elf NPCs as well. More Screens in the next Post. This game is beautiful though omagaawd!!! *-*
These issues are spotted so easily, i mean its unmissable.......did Bioware hire no testers for this game?

All your Tester are belong to us. Did they do any quality check at all?
And yes, this game is beautiful. World, some npcs, but not you.

Apologies if this was too much screens >.<
This is why theres clipping with most armors during cutscenes, even though some armors hide the emaciation, my guess is that dialogue scenes still use the animation of the base elf model. The base elf model being exactly what the skyhold PJ's are showing us, theres no clipping at all with the PJ's.
To top it all off though, Solas' built looks golden even with the rib chaffing, clipping and slouching.

There is no clipping but his arms are both broken and glued to ribcage
Maybe Bioware just really hate elves.

Yikes, I still think that the shoulders are rotated down to the sides and under, making the upper arm begin too far under the shoulder and close to the body by default. I am not 100% sure, but I think that is rigging. At the very least, I saw many similar types of disasters in my rigging class. LOL Nothing can flatter the Star Trek pj's though....nothing. Not even arms on right.
Maybe he thought super glue was a deodorant? ![]()
As for how the testers didn't notice? None of them played a male elf, probably. ![]()
Heres one last pic Solas > Elf Inquisitor. Both without armor equipped.

In this pic it is especially noticeable the contrast between Solas-elf-body and PC-elf-body.... whoa. !!

Knowledge about rigging is far beyond my competencies. I'm sure of one thing though. This rigging thing should be fixed; unrotated, unsided and happy.

Did they play this game at all? Considering amount of bugs.

Oh no, you must enter cutscene, you can't let him roam the world without glued arms and fractures!
So I yes, we will get patch tomorrow. By the way, can anyone contact Mister Mark Darrah https://twitter.com/BioMarkDarrahand ask him about the broken and glued arms fix?
