Worth it to put points into the dialogue/codex EXP perks in the long run?

Trying to optimize my perk selections here. I know that with agents, I don't need to put points into any of the 4 dialogue/codex EXP perks for the purpose of unlocking other perks. I also don't care so much for the extra dialogue options. My question is, with the idea of a soft level cap and some enemies respawning, will I be at a noticeable level disadvantage late game if I skip out on these perks?

Edit: In other words, I'm trying to say if the soft level cap can be reached without investing in the dialogue/codex perks, I'd rather put those points into more combat/utility oriented perks.

My gut tells me we should be ok. I'm just going to save my perk points for now until I acquire more agents.

Just my opinion, but I don't think so. I finished the game at level 23, without putting any points in any xp generating perks. Mind you, I did try to finish all the side quests, which generates a ton of xp. I finished the game with two unsolved treasure maps and some notes I did not find in the Hissing Wastes, as well as 4 dragons left to kill. Plenty of xp in game to find if you take the time.

In my opinion, yes.

Picking 3 dialogue exp will give 150 XP for every codex you read, and this game has a lot of them

You can get unique dialogues that can't be gotten by any other means

XP parts nice but it's for the conversation stuff. The 5% XP from kills is SUPER pointless. Super dumb useless. I mean not counting dragons but most higher end enemies are like... 60 xp. So with that perk its a whopping...63, wooo. Yeah no that ones garbage. But the conversation ones are good. You don't 'need' them though, they have some unique bits here and there, they also allow you to get all the Agents if you lack the companion required.

For instance theres an agent in hinterlands where you either need Cullens underground talky perk (no idea why hes the one who has that), or Varric. If you don't have Varric in the party, that perks only way to get her to join. So if you don't wanna use a a list and constantly swap companions just before getting an Agent (so you can get them), get the 4 speaky perks. The XP bonus from codex entries is just that, a nice little bonus that might net you an extra lvl... maybe.

I would get at least a few of them, in part for the experience, but also because of the unique dialogue it opens up, as someone mentioned.

I currently have all the dialogue and codex exp increase perks.

I picked them all up as early as I could, mainly to open up new options for conversations. That is where the real benefit is, sort of. It lets you pick different punishment options for certain captives the Inquisition takes. There are a couple "coercive" options which can only be unlocked via the perks, but they are few and far between. And since the choices are largely immaterial anyway, all you'll really lose out on are a few agents.

The exp is actually very nice, particularly since the enemy leveling and exp caps are so badly designed. I liked them more at earlier levels, since even with only 1-2 of the Codex perks, each thing you unlock gives a disproportionately high amount of exp. It starts falling off later, but then you have more of the map unlocked and so there are more people to talk with.

But all the Inquisition perks seem pretty lame. The only one which is totally worth it is the Fine Tools/Deft Hands that lets your rogues open anything.

XP isn't an issue, not sure which of them give meaningful options for dialogue though. XP wise you're looking at +25 xp per codex entry if you have all the perks, which comes out to somewhere around 5k xp if you rush them (consider you get 4-8k xp for a single dragon kill). Dialogue wise, I'm not aware of any agents that require the perks to obtain, but correct me if I'm wrong. \
