Given that staves only account for a single weapon category compared to several other types, shouldn't cloth be a bit easier to acquire since crafting Mage class armors requires so much of the stuff?! To make matters worse, even the other classes take 3-5 cloth as well. At the very least the amount of cloth salvaged from staves needs to be doubled. How did this ever get through testing? Perhaps class specific chests are needed; make them cost 1,200 and give 3 items and 3 potions. When I can craft any Warrior or Rogue armor but not a single Mage armor, something is horribly wrong.
Why is Cloth so hard to acquire?

I noticed this, as well.

I now have over 50+ pieces of metal/leather but can't make any new classes due to how seldom I get cloth. It's pretty nuts.

All I have is medium or heavy armor upgrades, light ones seems inexistent for the time being
Among salvageable items that gives cloth are staves, light armor upgrades and runes, the only 3 things I don't get from the RNG store...

Yeah cloth is an extremely rare resource for me. I finally scrounged up enough mats to unlock the Necromancer, but I personally found her "minion" play style to be rather underwhelming. Now I have to save up all over again to try and unlock another mage ![]()

Why? They are planning on releasing a Chest for Crafting materials, where you can pay to get a chance at getting more cloth.

Necro is fun but if you're wanting a pet class out of her you might be let down. AI seems pretty bad right now when you get a pet from spirit touch, most of the time they just stand around. Her panic attacks are great and walking bomb is awesome though. Here's a link to the necro thread though:

I didn't know that. Is that really a reason for the materials to be so unbalanced, though? Because we can pay more?

I was just guessing. I really hope that is not what they are planning to do.

So the problem is that staves account for only 20% of all weapons while the Warrior and Rogue weapons account for 40% each. It really is a poorly designed system and the only resolution is to double the amount of cloth provided for salvaging staves as this would at least make it equivalent to the other weapon categories. Armor upgrades are fine since they are entirely RNG based. Material chests are just a bad solution since even if the chances of getting leather, metal and cloth are the same, it does nothing to offset the weapon salvage problem. DAMP desperately needed a larger beta and it shows.

Same here. I haven't seen a single light armor upgrade yet, and so far, 3 lesser fire runes (are there even any other kind?!)

Really? My necromancer is still a low level, but I'm loving her massive crowd control potential.

I decon'd pretty much everything and got juuuuust enough cloth, but in comparison have like 40 iron.
Deconing runes gives cloth, I only keep master runes now (+16 damage, only gotten one lightning rune so far).
In the 15+ chests, I've only gotten one accesory (a bad ass +20% ability duration for my necro fears, so OP). It makes me think accessories are super rare.
Do potion belts exist for MP?
As for necro... I find only certain mobs are worth minioning... my favorite are the casters that spam ice rune, and the assassin red templars that teleport. The dot component, however, is worth tossing around.
Despite the meh summoning abilities, necro has so many awesome abilities and passives that I can't complain. By far my favorite MP class. More of a CC classb than pet class, so buyer beware.

Glad it's not just me. Cloth is so hard to get. Personally I feel like having all resources being equally distributed in terms of the capacity to acquire them seems pretty reasonable. If not, then.. are cloth based classes balanced to be superior to everything else? No, but then why are they so hard to gain access to with cloth being such a rare commodity? Such confusion, much sad.

About the Necromancer.
I spoke too soon, she is awesome; Virulent Walking Bomb plus Death Siphon = fun explosions and (essentially) unlimited health; but like others have said her minion/summon power Spirit Mark is a waste of space. If you are like me, and are looking for the Necromancer to fill your minion master play style, you are going to be disappointed.
Other than Spirit Mark the Necromancer is (IMO) one of the best mages out there in terms of CC and sheer survivability. Just don't ever plan on trying to summon minions with her; which is the only reason I wanted to unlock her in the first place. ![]()
