When I first saw how limited the hair options were, I thought it was a bad joke...And it is...a joke on all of us.
Please give us more hair options! Both previous games had very nice selections...
A humble request to TPTB for some hair options

I'd kill for Morrigan's hairstyle for my characters! I get the 'unique hair' idea, but our CC options are hideous. I can barely tolerate one/two of them. Why NPCs always seem to have everything better than PCs? Hair, body models (just seen comparison of Solas and male elf, ugh), clothing, face textures... I love Cassandra's eyebrows. And in CC i have only two decent options and like dozen of bushes. *disgusted noise*

I love her eyebrow's too. I keep looking at them and I'm jealous. I just met Blackwall too, and he's rocking some cool hairstyle. I wonder if Hawk will have "the Hawk" when I meet him/her - that will be a real punch in the gut.

Does anyone think Bioware will actually explain this design choice? I am really curious about whether it was an actual decision ( and the reasons why) or an oversight. Also, I would love to know whether they will add a hair pack. I will pay for it.

Hopefully modders will find a way to get things into game. Hair I will say needs a lot of help. There are some hair mods in Skyrim that I truly wish can find a way here.

Seriously why are the hair styles so bad? What happened with these renders previously released?
*snip*
I would have killed for those hairstyles in-game. They definitely seem like they would have been do-able styles with minimal -- if any-- clipping. The hairs look similar to hairstyles in other, older games, so you gotta wonder what on earth happened with DA:I's hair.

It's Frostbite 3, there will be no mods. We are at the mercy of Bioware sadly.

I think giving Inquisitors NPC's hair is possible. Since the models already exist and are used in game... I hope modders will somehow figure it out.

It's the same old story. Your companions all get unique hair, facial features and armor but the PC gets the same equipment recycled from filler-NPC's that everybody else is wearing. Mass Effect did it, Origins did it, even KOTOR did it.
While we're on the subject, why is Sera the only one who has hair with physics? Could they only be bothered to do it with one character?

This is assuming that those hair meshes exist as a seperate entity and not part of the NPC's headmorph, which was the case with Mass Effect 2.

Doesn't look like it to me. And the thing you mentioned - it was only done to Miranda for mysterious reasons. I consider it an exception and just hope it's not a rule in DA:I (would be sad, really). It almost feel like devs are trying to keep pretty hair form us on purpose ![]()

It's baffling. There are some nice physics on the Mage cloak and Inquisitor gear but they couldn't make the ponytail on the hair bounce around a bit? It's like hair is some massive blind spot in RPG games, Skyrim suffered from hair helmets too.

I guess more (hair) options would be awesome, however, character already created =/, no going back.
Perhaps someone will develop a save game editor soon? (crosses fingers) ![]()

Usually i would say "They want to keep npc unique" but in DA:I .. i don't know. I mean the CC is awesome. except for the haircuts. but I hope they'll add a way to alter cosmetic appearance like Haircuts/- colour and Make up, after CC

Funny thing is that a single programmer (with access to the source code) could add a possibility to alter appearance in an hour. So it's a thing that's literally takes close to no effort :/ Yet Bioware unfortunately missed to do so.

It really does make you wonder what the heck they were thinking!
I'm very confused by a number of elements in this game, frankly. The glossy reflections, the lack of brow options, lack of hair. For a game that gets so many things right, these oversights are...odd. And kind of troubling.

Looking at the popularity of cosmetic mods for the previous games one might get the idea that more and more varied options for hairstyles would be a logical thing to consider adding to the game. It just seems like a not-that-laborious way to increase player happiness.

baffled by the varriety of shaved heads for human female. they take up almost half the options gosh!
The explosion at the conclave burnt off the Inquisitor's hair thus the shaved heads.. Nah Jk
-----
I would love if they enable some sort of face save or face code like in Mass Effect.. Sometime I got stuck in the rift just after character creation and cinematic, I need to return to the main menu.. Then I have to spend half an hour to recreate my Inquisitor. Happened three times in a row when I tried to make Elf male.. ![]()

Sorry to hear about your repeated character appearance loss, tokunari. Such things suck so much. ![]()
But damn, your avatar is just such a delightfully perfect illustration for experiences like that! ![]()

I thought they said they would have lighting or you could see what u look like but then in game there was minimal light and when i created hawk it was like pitch black./signed
1. Less baldness, more actual hair!
2. More eyebrows - or rather, replace the 10 variations of BUSHES with actual eyebrows. Thank you.
3. A light switch for the CC. There is nothing worse than having spent ages in the CC to make the perfect character with beautiful subtle makeup accents, only to step out into the sunlight and see you have created the ultimate neon technoqueen. >.>

I'd restart if there were more hair option in character creation. I'm almost 15 hours in, and I won't regret it.
If you could also add lightning varieties in the cc, it would be nice. For example, just like in FFXIV where you can choose the environment and even the time.

1000x this. I've never seen so many variations of buzzcuts in my life. Even the most feminine looking hair has sideburns! Please for Maker's sake release a free dlc with more hair options.
Agreed. The hair and beard choices are horrific.

I'd like to see more long hair options for Human and Qunari females.

I sign this, too.
Long hair options or some more braided hair for us girls would be lovely. ♥
I would also love to use Josephines hair on my Inquisitors...She looks amazing with that hair, it's so unfair!

+1 to this. Its pretty sad.
Considering you can make a nice looking female then all of a sudden realize there is no good hairstyles, or moreso no good feminine hairstyles. At least Mass Effect always had the "you're a soldier" excuse. I can't see that here in a fantasy sense. ![]()
I was extremely disappointed with Female Qunari when the artwork has always shown female Qunari with long flowing white hair. In game = all cornrows and extremely short hair.
I understand clipping is an issue but I'd live with some clipping to see some nice hair. People do that all the time in mods. Heck just give us some fancy buns you do seem to know how to make those at least.
That said I'd love to see Josephine and Morrigan's hairstyles. Morrigan's may be the actual head mesh since her hair actually moves a bit (so awesome btw). But Jose's hair actually clips someitmes in her neck. :/ So I dunno.
