With the PC control problems others and myself are complaining about, I had hoped I could eschew direct party control for good customized AI tactics but open up the menu and it's all gone.

You only get to control when potions are consumed and whether your party members follow you or defend you. And that latter option is confusing. It results in Cassandra hanging out in some random part of the battlefield facing in some random direction with her shield up. I couldn't immediately discern the rhyme or reason behind it.

People want to know why we complain about the influence of consoles (the horrid control scheme) and multiplayer it's this. I'm convinced we have so few ai options because EA wants to milk us (ahem) I mean encourage us to play multiplayer.

Thank you, no. I've no interest in letting some random group of trolls or munchkins ruin my game experience. You promised that the multiplayer wouldn't interfere with the single player. And as my friends are adults with diverse interests, none of them are currently playing (and I'm not going to play salesman for you just to make the game playable, I paid you to do that for me)

Edit: ok I'll admit to one improvement. When you drag your party away from the bad guys, they won't immediately charge back in. But you can't get them to maintain their distance, you have to keep reminding Varick that the crossbow is best used at range and his duster is more stylish than templar armor but not as tough.
