Oh...you poor little thing.
Funny that DAO had way better AI tactics. BTW I'm not impressed with your dumb ass remark.

I was saying that i feel sorry for you for expecting that game have some kind of tactics, and actually supporting you in your point of view.
Actually my "dumb ass remark" couldn't be more friendly.

Make sure to lower their mana and stamina reserve to 0% and then enjoy.

The tactics/behaviors is not as "complex" as it was in Origins and while I wish it was ....as a look back......I barely used any of that complexity.
That said......what I have found to work best for me thus far is to:
1) Disable any "important/tactful " abilities....i.e stuff I want them to use only when I tell them,....barrier, taunts, crowd controls etc.
2) leave any non tactical/strategic abilities (DPS) active.
3) Set their Mana/STA threshold to 100%.
Could get more serious and calculate each companions optimum threshold but so far 100 works fine. The default 50 with all abilities ON is just silly.
This way they still do DPS stuff but there is always mana/STA avail if I need to command them to use a ability.
Have to do more micro management during fights than I would like but its actually turning out to be a cool experience......especially after setting game difficulty higher.

Problem with the miserable state of the Tactics AI and the Tactical Cam is that if either one or the other was more robust or at least as robust as Origins, it would alleviate the problems with the other.
If you have better AI Tactics, then you could set those up as complex as you please, making it so you don't have to go to Tactical view as much. Or, if you had a better Tactical View, then you could more proficiently micromanage your party there without using the Tactics AI routines as much.
The problem with Inquisition is that both the Tactics AI setup and the Tactical View are barebones and clunky as hell. So you're left with braindead AI running around that you can't customize much at all and micromanaging through the Tactical View is a complete hassle since its so limited.
