No option in Origin client so i turned off the overlay but i still hear the chime when i get an achievement.  Is there really no way to disable that?

Yeah, who could have thought that a 90's comedy trumpet would be an immersion breaker?

You need to do two things:

1. Disable Origin In-Game from Origin settings (and restart Inquisition)

2. In your Task bar, look for the speaker icon. Open it, and click Mixer. There, you can mute Origin sounds (which persist otherwise).

Thanks!  I didn't the first thing but didn't think to mute the sounds from Origin.

Or you can delete the chime sound, read EA-Nils' post top of this page:

So -that- was the sound which made me believe I was playing a game in a 90's arcade or some kind of SNES game.

Origin isn't listed as a program with sound, so I can't mute it... but I did rename the file, so it shouldn't be played again.
