I can spawn my npc's in city elf origin via console runscript fine. But they are not spawned upon normal start of game. I've rechecked my prcscr file and don't see anything wrong with it. This is probably a dumb question  but what should the .ext be<_

The extension is always XLS until you run it through the excelprocessor, and then you will get a GDA file. Put the GDA file in your mod override, not the game override.

Thank you for the reply. Didn't seem to do the trick though. Created file with MicrosoftWorks, dragged to Excel processor then edited with GDApp (downloaded from Nexus site I think). So now have file  PRCSCR_tre_utc_spawn.gda with:  ID int 6000000 (column 1)  AreaListName string bec01al_alienage (column 2) Script string tre_bec_chr_spawn (column 3) I can do tre_bec_chr_spawn with runscript. Well I can work on other things till the light bulb comes on. Thanks again.:D

Okay, yeah, that's your problem. The excel thing is very picky and won't like you to create excel files with other programs, and formats or whatever.

Instead, get the original PRCSCR that comes with the game and make a copy of it. Rename it to whatever name you want, open it and edit it with the info you need. Save it.

Drag and drop it over the excelprocessor and you'll get your GDA.

You don't need to edit the GDA in any way (why would you do that?), just edit your own excel file.

Thanks again. I figured it might be a format problem.

If ExcelProcessor.exe is giving you a .gda file it isn't likely a format issue. Most likely you are putting down the area resource name instead of the area list name (e.g "bec100ar_elven_alienage" instead of "bec01al_alienage").

It could also be a problem of you editing the .gda with another program. Also make sure that you are naming the excel worksheet "PRCSCR_tre_utc_spawn", not just the .xls file.
