Am I the only one that prefers the K/M over a controller?

I really do prefer the K/M over the controller. I set my camera rotate to my left and right arrow in tactical mode and wala.  I changed my function Key to E and it is so much easier to grab things now.

The controller is a pita for me when it comes to toggling through targets and setting a target as the one I want my group to attack.

I am arse backwards as II seem to use the controller so I can walk around town and then switch to my mouse and keyboard for all my adventuring and combat.

I wish i could agree with you, as I prefer KB/M on most games. I tried to like it, I really did, but unfortunately IMO this game was just made with a gamepad in mind. The controls felt floaty, inprecise and clunky with KBM...gamepad feels much smoother, no selection issues, and good god right trigger feels much better than right mouse click for attack.

I think once you realize that you shouldn't "click" an item to pick it up, but rather hit the use key on the keyboard, KB+M becomes a lot easier to use.

You are not alone. I have no interest in controllers

I have a wireless logitech controller plugged in and ready to go for any game I feel the need to use a gamepad with.

I have not touched it once for DA:I. Once I unlearned my habits from DA2, DAI controls nicely.

Just FYI, You can use the R key for attack if you like. ( Not saying my way is better..am just letting you know. )

I love controller for  my Fable games and others but for some reason the keyboard and mouse set up works much better , at least for me. I would rather punch a number for a potion or a dialogue selection.

I do agree with you on the trigger though, Always liked games  that used the trigger as a attack.
