2 reasons ME3MP was more fun: Your fun didn't depend on having competent tanking/healing (or Barriering), and a common mook wasn't tougher than you

Putting aside gameplay, me3 mp had far superior GUI, keyboard and mouse control, items, and customization.

Interesting opinion.  Mine is different.  I really disliked that I was forced to use autohotkey to

remap certain keys in me3mp.  For inquisition MP, I only really need to use autohotkey if

I want to kludge a PTT.

The player collision detection was a bit easier to get used to for me3mp.  After a few days

of inqMP, I'm more used to the collision detection, but it does indeed have awkward

moments.

Customization certainly seems better for inqMP.  Keep in mind, for early me3mp, the

weapon and class selection was very limited.  Certainly within the first week, it was

very, very rare to run into a lobby with a completely levelled up top tier weapon.

I remember those days.

*New guy pops into the lobby*

"Shoot man, that guy has a Widow IV, he's probably a BAMF."

Agreed.  It's trying to hard to force things, and not letting teams organically develop.

Ditto the point i've made before about weapon restrictions:  in ME3MP you could have melee-Adepts, shotgun infiltrators and sniper-vanguards, and that freedom was (IMO) a huge plus to the diversity of both fun and builds.

DAMP's limiting classes to specific weapon types is bad.  I really hope they either patch that out, or allow an option to unlock weapons as you progress.

Yes for balance maybe cap the dps by the new weapon to that of your highest class weapon, but it's getting the other benefits that would be fun.

eg:  Keeper with a 100dps staff and 250dps 2H Greatsword, you can equip the greatsword, but only get 100dps yet all the 2H effects like AoE etc.

Am sure I will sink over a hundred hours in DAMP and appreciate it for what it is.  But, I have to agree with Stinja.

It was interesting when you opened a chest and, finally, got that first Claymore ...and also happen to unlocked the Asari Adept.  You're mind illogically would try to put the two together somehow - and it was fun to think about.  The design of ME3MP would repeat that same fun thought process over and over - trying to mish-mash your "best" character's powers with your "best" weapon (and ammo type) while managing cool down and coming up with what felt like unique combinations that you personally invented.  That isn't a shooter vs RPG critic.  That creativity is missing in DAMP and I think it will shorten the lifespan of the game.

Obviously, you and your questions and critiques are what is wrong with this forum. I mean, you act like one of their top two listed selling points for DAMP is, "It's like ME3 MP, only better!"

Qsec hates fantasy games obviously. Penguin called that one. I agree do I must hate fantasy games. Other than DA:O DA:2 used to play AD&D baldurs gate, neverwinter, too many 2 list.

I agree. Lack of customization could shorten the lifespan. I'm playing but I don't see it lasting that long. Not me3 time. Or EQ time, oops forgot penguin said I hate fantasy games.

Claymore on QFE is a fun kit I use. That freedom (great way to describe it) made a long lasting game. The combinations were endless. Damp actually will have a "best weapon" for each class. That's limiting.

I haven't played much DAMP yet, but I've moderately enjoyed what I have played.  That said, the lack of push-to-talk on the mic is extremely disappointing and a completely incomprehensible design decision, IMO.

I've been thinking about it.

I knew combat would be slower paced, especially after finding we would be fighting room to room, rather than waves all over the same area.

I didn't expect to succeed or fail based on the skilled usage of an ability or two the group may or may not have.

I didn't expect to be a whelp facing bad guys who ate way too many protein bars and can take dozens more hits than I can. Yes, getting hit was extremely dangerous in ME3 as well, but we also had sticky cover, self-recharging shields, combat rolls, powers to freeze or fling them like ragdolls, and Claymore shots to the face.

Yes to all of these things. MP is a shell compared to ME3's. I like the focus on teamwork but their isn't enough room for error considering the amount of ways a character can be built, and the reliance on guard/barrier without the same ease of refreshing these two mechanics the way ME3 could. For instance, I play Necro a lot, they don't even have a barrier. We get regen on enemy deaths but by wave 5 enemies aren't dying fast enough to maintain your health without a competent team backing you up/to back up. It ends up a chaotic mess of everyone just kiting until either the enemy dies or we do. Yuck.

If you purchased a fantasy RPG soley because you enjoyed a sci fi third person shooter then you are not very smart.

Its like ordering a salad then getting annoyed because its not the same as the steak dinner you had yesterday.

You might know well that something happened to the relays with what the catalyst and stuff. It could well be that some N7 just jumped through the relay when it blew up - just to end in this world full of superstition. In truth, the elementalist is just a N7 engineer who reconfigured his omni-tool and acts as mage so the Inquisition doesn't put his butt on a pointy stick.

ALSO: I want that fantasy rocket propelled grenade you speak of.

I would like being able to give any class what ever I wanted. With the exceptions with staves as you need to be magic. A rogue would just break it. If I want to equip a sword to my Mage I should be able to. Not smart cuz I am squishy but I could. In DAO I had morrigan have a sword one play through.

There was an Ogre Statue in ME2, so Thedas has to be an uncharted world in Mass Effect. The artist just found out what Ogres look like after Red Sand experiments brought him to the Fade.

KroLord's gonna come back guys, wearing armor all the time so people don't find out what he is. He might even find love for a new Claymore.

i haven't played me3 in a long time but i do remember mass effect was just full groups of infiltrator that would kick you if you weren't a infiltrator.

ME3mp is my most played game ever, I loved it! DA:I hasn't yet won my heart, but I'm liking it so far. There's still so much to learn. Just yesterday I realized that you can dismantle stuff, go figure! The MP has a fun Dark souls - vibe that I like.

I quickly went back to Mass Effect 3 multiplayer after trying out Dragon age's so-called multiplayer. It was the one thing I was most excited for, but it's an unplayable, dysfunctional mess.

I have a choice between joining a quick match, and then getting disconnected or joining an unplayable lag fest where I can't do anything, or host a game and wait forever in an empty lobby until the game disconnects me.

Somebody at BioWare figured out how to make MP really fun.

Then they forgot.

The end.

Sorry for trolling. It's going to work out in the end. More updates pls!
