These are my bugs: when set to full screen it still only boots up windowed on my computer. I have to select the full screen icon on the window to go full screen. Shard skulls won't allow me to navigate. They immediately look up at the top of the screen and won't budge. Same occurrence with mouse and keyboard settings set. Dxtory cannot detect DAI so cannot record footage. Also, AMD evolved will not detect program and can't take pictures until mouse has clicked somewhere on screen once program has loaded.

Still getting flickering textures, crappy fog effects and frequent crashes.. That patch didn't do anything for me.. Shame on BioWare and the critics who rated this abysmal game 9+/10.. Was really excited to play a good RPG after so long, I guess I need to wait a few more months to get my hands on Witcher 3

Solas-Varric banter repeats ("So you've fought Cory before") - I've heard it at least a dozen times, including multiple times exploring Emerald Graves (e.g. within 5min of the previous conversation, with no loading, fast travelling or such)

Just a suggestion for anyone with random crashes to the desktop with no error message, I kept having that issue and it appears to have been caused by a stick of ram that up and died. I only figured out there was a problem when I checked it for an non-game-related issue I was having with my pc. Since I replaced my ram though the crashes to desktop without  an error message seem to have stopped. Obviously this won't fix everyone's issues (and really what are the odds that everyone with this issue has faulty ram?) but running the windows memory diagnostic doesn't take long and it's worth a shot if you haven't done it already.  Sorry if this was already suggested and I missed it, I'm not quite caught up on the thread yet.

Oh, and it seems that Varric gets duplicated if you take him along for There lies the Abyss - one copy stands next to the inquisitor, and another copy runs towards the inquisitor to ask about Hawke.

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but in the inventory screen my character is kind of misplaced:

It is very annoying, does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Well, I am pleased to inform that during my whole gaming experience with this game, which was exactly 0 seconds, I only encountered a single bug. The bug being that the game doesn't even launch and therefore I am unable to play. It just sits there on a black screen on launch and yes, my system meets (and largely exceeds) minimum requirements.

No solution so far has solved it.

While I do understand that some minor bugs may escape QA and eventually find their way into the release version of the game, this is by no means minor and I am definitely not an isolated case. EA Answer HQ has quite a few people with the same problem as me on completely different PC hardware setups.

Curiously, some people report being able to play the game before and only encountering this problem from Dec. 20 onwards. More curious even is that people on PS4 and XB1 are also reporting the black screen starting on Dec. 20 - was there some hidden patch that day that we're unaware of?

Everything is there accept for: the "S" key should move the character backwards not about face, essentially opening yourself up to attack. Get hit with shield wall active get spun around in a 180, again opening your back up (if intentional, the animation is horrid). No strafing, no target locking and tab targeting in the game is terrible, at times feeling totally unresponsive (and Dark Souls 1/2 targeting works for Dark Souls, because hey it has target locking, which is needed for the anal amount of circle strafing you have to do in that game)..

The must annoying thing about multiplayer is ------------------- > Movment is very chunky ( There is a constant camera bug? while moving around,  camera moves alittle out and back in to postion allmost all the time  specialy while doing fast turns, backward and jumps.
They need to fix that before adding more content to the multiplayer because -----  Game mode that focuses on grinding  has to have a very fun and smooth combat.

I have atrocious bugs absolutely ruining the whole experience:

-The sound is sooo glitchy! Music, ambient sounds, sound effects (such as foot steps) cut off randomly during gameplay (especially in the exalted plains) and are distorted. Dialogue is always fine strangely enough.

-Dancing dragons (running in the same spot in a glitcy fashion)! This bug is so bad that I used a level 8 mage to single handedly kill a dragon by standing far away and just spamming basic attack for half an hour. The dragon didn't fly or even run to me. It just danced in the same spot.

-Resurrecting enemies after killing them (can't get their loot!). I know dead coming back to life is a theme in this game but they just stand there not attacking you.

-Not a 'bug' per se but game takes soooo long to load. I know its big, but this is ridiculous. Anyone remember the Xbox version of Morrowind? It's even worse than that.

Also, holding down left mouse button to do the basic attack usually causes the camera to jerk to where the cursor points (sometimes a complete 180 degree turn, messing up flow of combat). Bring back auto attack PLEASE

Still getting DirectX CTD even after the patch and a driver update. Very annoying.

Also bug if you don't do Iron Bull's first Skyhold quest before you upgrade the courtyard: If you upgrade it to forces/ fighting, then soldiers are fighting right where he takes you to talk to soldiers- clipping like crazy.

I'm not having many issues with party banter, however, I have never once encountered banter where I am allowed to interact with it.

This is post Patch 2 Hotfix 1.  I am also playing in Windowed Fullscreen mode, should that matter.

Another minor bug I've noticed, though annoying, has been multiple times at the Skyhold tavern the lyrics for the songs will not be accompanying the music.  I have subtitles on so I know there should be words along with the music, however there is none.  It's a shame since I do enjoy the music.

Have we actually had any update from BW since the hotfix to patch 2? I'm dismayed to see that the stickies regarding upcoming patches have been removed (unstickied and subsequently lost to the ages). I feel with the folks having trouble with getting to run the game at all or running into serious bugs, but considering that not all developers / troubleshooters are going to work on those issues, an update on the other various, systematic shortcomings (PC controls, to just name my personal favorite) would be much appreciated.

Nkey rollover does not work in Dragonage Inquisition, to replicate issue:

Hold W, A and then try hit D

Works the other way around though:

W, D, then hit A is ok

Tested with 2 NKeyrollover keyboards, confirmed keyboards working ok on:

The guardian of mythal spawned in the tiny room outside the main dragonfight arena, and was stuck hovering 5m above the ground for most of the fight (i.e. 2/3 of melee attacks missed).

I can't claim the keep in Crestwood to reach the dam.  Each time she uses the flag, the game will crash during the loading screen.  It happened before, but it would fully load after a second try.  Now, it will crash no matter what and I've gone back at least 5 times-- each time, it crashes.  (edit: 6th time's a charm and it loaded...). Still, I get many crashes during cutscenes and loading screens to the point where I always have to quicksave before I enter them.  Back-to-back cutscenes and loading screens (like during the mage/templar quests and before Skyhold) are a problem for me because it's inevitable I'll have to reload due to a freeze or crash.

Another bug, which isn't as bad, is that often the war room music will play as soon as I enter Skyhold (and not as often in Haven), and will only stop once I enter the war room and leave.

I feel quite ripped off by this game and am annoyed that I missed the 24h refund opportunity. (PC version here)

Yes, I am very angry at the person who released this buggy unfinished heartless piece of software on us. That person who decided to ship it in this stage should loose his/her job.

I stopped playing now because the combat and feel of the game is a bad joke that I do not intend to waste my time on, until the Problems have been adressed and fully solved. The last thing was that I was unable to find out how I can que commands in tactical view. Example: Rund there, drink potion, go up there onto the rock and shoot down. Or even how to tell my party members to stay put where I send them. Did anyone even put more than half a days thought into the tactical view?

So, to fill up this list with what disturbs me most:

  • Click to move is a must have. I hat standing one meter away from an item and not being able to click the damn thing.
  • Lock camera to mouse. A game that forces me to hold down a button about 95% of the time is plain dumb.
  • Put in mouse-over-tooltipps. Placing walls of text in front of my nose is not something called good user experience. The word "intuitive" comes to mind. The control developer should have a look at the meaning of that.
  • Increase the zoom of the tactical camera by a lot!
  • stop the auto-aim. Auto aim is for consoles. In a mouse played game this is dumbing down the gameplay
  • Make the cursor more prominent. It gets lost from view half the time because it is invisible 95% of the time because of the camera angle rotation button holding (see above)
  • Make the keys mouse bindable in the game! Not only over 3rd party software.

Actually the list is too long and I put more Time into this game and this feedback than the creatores deserve for wasting so many peoples time and money.

The controls feel limiting and stubborn.

Oh, and I tried to use a PS3 controller on my PC. DS3 made it work nicely for everything... but not for this game. Great.

Not to forget the huge amount of bugs. From My companions vanishing in the ground while talking to me up to the blacksmith people hammering their swords about half a meter above the anvil and much MUCH more. You should invent in a QA. I have honestly seen Beta games with less bugs.

Looking at all the Bioware and EA games I bought so far I am truly annoyed to have supported a company that does this to its fans. Or ex-fans.

I'm playing the pc version. In the single player campaign, for some reason I tend to get frequent sound issues when I get in and out of tactical battle mode.

Also, I generally run almost any game in ultra settings, but this one is killing my rig. I have everything up to date in the drivers department. Reducing motionblur helped a bit but I am still around 20-48 fps with tons of stuttering.

Here are my system settings:

Video card: Gigabyte R9 280X
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_r5.141029-1500)
BIOS: BIOS Date: 06/05/14 15:45:06 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: AMD FX™-8350 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
SSD: Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 3 2.5

Anyone else with similar specs having issues?

Let me just say that I think this game is amazing.

Things to fix (my personal list):

PC Control Functionality:

  • Move with both mouse buttons. Limiting movement to only WASD is unusual and annoying to say the least.
  • Tactical Camera needs a complete overhaul. Tactical camera should not be hindered by terrain -- at all. Additionally, the limitations on zooming both in and out pose significant problems. Zooming is an issue for screenshots. I used to be able to take amazing screenshots in previous DA games, but the lack of control with zoom functionality is obnoxiously and needlessly limited.

GPU:

  • Optimization for overclocked cards. I own a GeForce GTX 780 and the game ran flawlessly. When I went to purchases the recommended card for my brother, the GeForce GTX 660, the card had significant issues with the factory overclocked version. I had to manually underclock his card to get the game to work. For those having consistent crashes to desktop, especially upon character creation, you likely need to underclock your card to its original intended settings to get this game to work. Aside from that specific card, optimization is desperately needed toward the game's memory usage.

Bugs:

  • Minor bug -- character who frequently visits Josephine's desk in Skyhhold leaves through the door that leads to the war room and disappears through a wall.
  • In game creation I chose a British accent for my character. This voice changed to an American accent at times, but has corrected back to the British accent. Just as a point of credibility, I've been to England on many occasions and can spot a Brit accent a mile away. There is a distinct possibility that a previous patch could have fixed my issues, but I'm unsure.
  • I cannot plant in my garden. After a plant is picked the option to plant comes up, but the white covering doesn't appear and my character cannot plant his seeds.
  • Not sure if this is intended, but bear populations and or spawns are ridiculous. I had to fight 6 or 7 Great Bears in a row in Emprise du Lion.
  • NPCs talking over other NPCs. This happens frequently.

And finally, this is not a bug, but rather a suggestion or complaint, really. The judgement options in Skyhold hardly ever align with what I intend or imagine them to be. Choosing "What's a Gibet?" shouldn't be an immediate declaration of punishment, for example. This is the only area of the game where I find my actions/speech often do not match the text options. Edit: One more complaint -- I really dislike that they removed healing for health pots. I don't know anyone who appreciates this, sans the hardcore-est of Bioware fans.

Happy New Year!

The biggest issue that I have had so far is the camera.

When set to auto-center you often can't see what is needed based upon the terrain.  Either trees, your own party members or the terrain itself makes the view worthless.  When you turn off the auto-center the view is better, but it will often change the camera angle on its own over time or if you go into tactical view it will not pan back to the original position.  So you have to go back into the menu to reset the auto center (7 clicks of the mouse) and then move around to get the camera angle where you want it, then go back in the turn off the feature again (another 7 clicks).  Really annoying.

There is also another issue that I have not found any work around for.  You can't "look up" in the game.  So if you are trying to close a rift, the angle may be bad due to having to be close enough to activate the feature but yet far enough away to see it.  If you are trying to look around for a path to climb or maybe at items or some other object above you, good luck.  It would be great if it worked more like the Skyrim controls and camera.  You can set it to look through the PC eyes or over the shoulder.  But the better thing is that your view follows the mouse movement and you can look at virtually everything from any angle.

Not only can't you look up, you often can't look down unless you go into tactical mode.  When you enter tactical it will often move your character from the spot you need to look down to somewhere close by on the screen.  I noticed this during the Oasis map when trying to get the shard when you have to walk out on the plank and jump onto the ledge.  The camera would not let me look down to view the plank to see it and when you enter TVM it moves you back down the rock ledge.

So when trying to climb a mountain or go down a mountain the view is bad, even worse if you have an encounter at that time.  Not to mention that when you are trying to find a way to descend, you can't tell  what is below you.  Is there a ledge or does it just drop off?

Not to mention the small view area while in tactical, it should pan out as far as a ranged weapon or spell will fire.

Another issue that the camera will cause is during the looting action.  Often the treasure dropped is a small item that requires you to be close to in order to active the loot action.  But due to the camera and the action bar (spells, abilities & potions bar) it is often difficult to get the angle and distance right.

I liken the camera issues to being a stick figure with no joints.  You can look side to side but not up and down.

I have had some other issues with some of the quests not allowing for completion due to not being able to get locks or malachite or "examine item" not functioning to start a quest.  The issue is often that not enough of the random drop items drop during the play through and then once the map is cleared that particular enemy no longer spawns.  Such as needing 5 locks and only getting 1 before the area stops generating the foes.  This then locks the requisition quest as not completed and you can't get another until it is.  Why not have vendors sell the items that can't be picked, mined or dropped during the entire game play?

I think if BioWare fixed the camera issues it would go a long way.  I am a big fan and I would give this game an 8 out of 10 if not for the camera issues and limited romance options.  As it is I would rate it a 6 out of 10.  Please, fix the camera.  And why not open up all the main characters and party members to romance by any inquisitor (male or female of any race) so that the player can have as many "relationships" during the game as he desires?

One of the things about playing the game is that you want to see all the different story lines play out and view all the videos.  But you can't do that since some NPCs can only be romanced by men, others women, others just male dwarves or female elves.  I don't have the time to play through the game five different times to "experience" all the different dialog, cut scenes, etc..

On the quest Here Lies the Abyss, after I enter the Fade and on the moment when you have to protect a spirit, so she can break the barrier I always crash, without error message. Already put the graphics on low and didn't help. Today I was fast enough to break the barrier, and I think that the problem is on the map, because the game only crash if i walk beyond the place where the barrier was. I reapeated this quest many times, but the problem persists.

- Have the "D" key walk backwards instead of turning you around.

- Tactical Camera feels too close IMO. Tactical mode as a whole feels clunky and tough to manage your party.
