First off, am I glad i didn't get sucked into preorder/hell!!     I waited, like someone with a brain, and watched as the mindless minions ventured into this God forsaken E/A nightmare.

Second, is it now safe to say that E/A has struck again?

Third, Bioware listen up, you just had to pander to the CONSOLE/holers, huh?

I'm done with you!!!

Restarted the game because I wanted to play a mage instead of a warrior...but, the game hates me. My character's clothes changed from her mage outfit into this. Instead of a mage weapon, an archer's weapon appeared also. And then, it changed back into a staff. This game is hella glitchy. D:
P.S. I apologize if we're not supposed to link images in our posts. I just thought a visual would help explain things better.
2508sif.jpg

EDIT:
Wait, the mages don't actually wear a robe at the beginning of the game?? O: Because, mine was wearing a black robe at the beginning also---it looked pretty cool so I thought that was normal! I went to youtube to check other female mages and they were wearing the default green outfit. Put in spoilers just in case people don't want to see what could be the final mage outfit or something like that.

Spoiler

Judging from the looks that spoiler is the rogue's outfit (Scout Armor) received in Haven. Not sure if mages/warriors get it as well, but I doubt it.

As for nice to have things:

- The ability to somehow rotate the characters in the inventory screen.

- Either lighting options or a different lighting scheme in the CC, the way it is currently doesn't really let you judge how you're going to look once you get out into the world...

- Blackwall's beard as a CC beard option for the inquisitor. (all platforms obviously)

Kendaric Varkellen, you can rotate the character in the item screen with "A" and "D".

What I have noticed so far 20 hours into the game:

  • 30fps cut scenes / stutters in cut scenes.
  • NPC pop-ins.
  • NPC's traversing very fast or floating in the air after loading or during a cut scene/ dialogue.
  • In some rare cases the function buttons (or clicking the portrait of a party member) doesn't work.
  • Items clipping through objects and/or characters, especially shields.
  • Low audio volume and poor audio balance (with home theater).
  • Poor feedback on party orders, like "hold".
  • Updates on the lower left screen are severely delayed.
  • Sometimes a party member can die through the environment making a revive process during combat impossible.

There's probably more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Anyone else getting an issue with the fps dropping very low for a fraction of a second? I'm getting 60-100 fps in the game when I'm moving around and fighting, but every few moments (10-15 seconds) it will drop way below 30. Usually 13 or 25-ish. But it's easily noticeable because it's like the game misses a fraction of a second while I'm moving and the sound skips as it does so. Even with everything set to low and AA/v-sync turned off it still does it.

I think this has been brought up a few times in the thread, but I don't see it on the front page so I'll say it again: hold position doesn't work properly (KB+M, I don't know about controllers).  Instead of being a toggle, like in Origins or DA2, Inquisition treats "hold position" as an order, and it will get overridden by the next order, no matter what it is.  You can't (easily) tell your tank to hold a choke point because the "move to" order will replace the "hold" order and they can't be queued.  I'm pretty sure some of the prerelease demos showed the player doing exactly what I just described (presumably on a console), which just makes it all the more annoying that I can't.  Also, I'm pretty sure those demos showed a "hold position" order being given to only one party member at the time, as opposed to the whole party (which is what the "H" key does).

Thanks for the info, didn't expect it to be restricted to the keyboard.

My mage started with the basic green outfit, not that nice one you spoiled... But the bow was a bug for sure...

Yeah, I didn't think much of it because the outfit suited the character so I thought it was normal for mages, and that warriors got the green outfit, etc. So, I was surprised when I realized that it was a bug after trying to find out why her clothes changed from that into the brown outfit and the bow turned into a staff.

Judging from the looks that spoiler is the rogue's outfit (Scout Armor) received in Haven. Not sure if mages/warriors get it as well, but I doubt it.

Ahhh, I see. Since I'm not playing a rogue and haven't gotten that far yet, I would have never known it was an outfit for them. Thanks for the info! Definitely an interesting bug since it looks better than the default.

Other bugs my brother found when he played:
  • Demons don't spawn in battle and are in the ground, stuck in rocks and on walls. You can't do anything about it so he has to constantly restart the game to defeat them.
  • Sometimes the bridges/buildings/walls disappear in the landscape so you can walk through them upon reaching them.
  • Sometimes the bridges disappear when you're walking on them so you're literally walking on air.
  • Sometimes the mages has unlimited mana (not a bad thing but something to note lol)
  • Sometimes the rogue's stealth lasts a long while (over 30 secs) and only stops once you use another skill. You can use their default attack and they would still be in stealth mode for the duration of the fight.
He has noted that his second time around (he started over when he realized that he sold items that were crucial to the plot) that there are less bugs. But, they are still present at random times.

As for me, I hope they fix the party commands through tactical mode because sometimes when I give directions to characters to move away from enemies, they go closer to the enemies. Not helpful when they are nearly dying from constantly going against orders. And, when I tell them to hold, or attack with a specific move, the moment I switch back to my character, it seems like all orders are dismissed and they end up using another skill or move. The first demon boss was annoying because they kept doing the opposite of what I wanted.

Edit:
My amulet disappeared after the first fight against the rift and demon. Not sure if it was supposed to or not.

+1 more for Invisible NPC's:

Went back to Haven after doing some side quests. I went over to the tent area where Cullen and Cassandra usually stand. Cullen was there, but when I went to talk to Cassandra, she was invisible. I was colliding with her character model, but she wasn't visible on the screen. I couldn't interact with her at all. I reloaded a save to resolve it.

IIRC if you click again on the point you've told someone to move to, it'll switch to telling them to hold that point. Or something like that, don't have access to the game right now

I was just rendered unable to do throne judgment. I load. The throne says "sit." I sit, but all I see is one really long black screen with the load icon. When I come back from that, everyone is gathered like I should be judging, but I am not in my throne, can't interact with my throne, and am at loose ends to wander around and do other things instead. And no judgment happened because the icon still appears on my mini map.

Not exactly a bug, but one of the biggest issues I had with the game is lack of a PC manual.  The manual they have for PC has all the instructions showing console game pad buttons.  The PC manual should be set out for keyboard and mouse control with and extra section going over how to use a game pad.

Don't know if these couple have been brought up b4.

The Corruption of Sahrnia quest:  Quest item cannot be targeted so quest cannot be started.  Please move quest item location a little.

If a companion falls into a chasm game goes into an endless loop and must be restarted.

direct x error still there after NVidia driver update.

I'm not even sure if this is a bug, or what, but the AoE targeting reticle keeps getting stuck.

Can the AoE/tactical camera marker be overhauled or is it impossible?

RIght now, I'm about 60hours in, and the stupidity of the new AoE placer is ridiculous. I can't go up or down a hill with small rocks within jumping range because the cursor refuses to move unless I go all the way to the side and around.

This makes getting any sort of high ground as a mage pointless because any attack that requires manual targeting isn't going to work.

i can't play the game. I lowered all the graphical settings and even used a preset character. The prologue was fine, it glitched out a little bit and presented a black screen until the cut scene where the player wakes up with the guards before being interrogated. I was able to play the tutorial for a little bit until I wanted to save. However when I was going to save, the save option was locked. Leaving the settings to go back to playing, my character was spawned at what is apparently the frostback mountains. However, the set looks a lot like what was used in the prologue cut scene. This is a glitch I've experienced 3 times with a character I customized. I used a preset character to see if the game would work but it still spawned me there.

It's a great thing I tend to over-save in this game because I just got done with the cutscene at the war table where I'm supposed to go talk to Mother Giselle in "Scout the Hinterlands: Secrets". I decided to not go to the mission as soon as the cutscene ended. Came back to go do the mission and it tells me that it's "Completed". And, a bunch of other missions popped up. As soon as I leave the war table, the screen tells me to go to the Hinterlands to go talk to Mother Giselle. -___-

Edit:
I have such a love-hate relationship with this game. Did that ^ cutscene again. This time, the game refuses to let me go on the "Scout the Hinterlands: Secrets" mission. I can't click on it nor read the report.

Edit #2:

Third time's the charm. It finally worked after I changed the answers to the questions. Shouldn't have to redo the same long cutscenes 3 times just to get it to work while using answers that's not related to how I want my character to act. -___-

Edit #3:

I feel kind of bad coming in here so often to report all of the bugs I've come across. This time, the "Flashpoint" skill is on the screen. lol Happened in the Hinterland quest to talk to Mother Giselle.

le104.jpg

Edit #4:

Can't use a skill point that I acquired when I leveled up to 4. What a hassle. Had to reload the game and level up again for it to activate.

Edit #5:

This game is so buggy (or I'm just reallly, REALLY, REALLY unlucky) and I'm still only in the first mission out of Haven. This time, my character got stuck in midair over the stairs. I tried to attack to see if I could go down (see the red fire next to my character) and she's still in midair. The stairs wouldn't highlight and I had to reload (thank goodness for saving everywhere) for it to allow me to go down. Little random button is still stuck on the screen.

Bugs are normal these days on new releases, but it shouldn't be this bad. I love this game so far (could use some control changes but it's playable) but Bioware is testing my patience with me being so afraid of bugs that I'm saving every 5-10 minutes and making new saves just in case I run into something else that will cockblock me from completing quests and missions. :/

Don't know if this is PC only, but during some conversations with NPCs other NPCs will sometimes dash through the background really quickly or dash in to stand there. They don't run normally, they just move really fast through it. Also, apparently the guards love to interrupt my Inquisitors romance scenes with Cullen--often they will wander in to his office during a cut scene or a scene on the battlements. One guard woman's arm clipped clear through Cullens' head during the first kiss scene with Cullen (right as they were about to kiss too >>).

In Skyhold Blackwall and Sera are gone. their icons are there, they are just not there.

I've experienced this problem too but for me it wasn't a bug--it can just be a matter of finding them. Sera's room is on the second floor of the tavern even though it seems she's on the first. And most recently Blackwall was out in front of the stables near the wood chopping block even though his marker was in the stables like always.

Not sure if I am an idiot or this is a bug..

I have the quest to pass judgement on the prisoner, I clicked on the throne, went back did it's loading thing for a minute, returns to a state where you can control the player but I cannot click on the throne again..

It was a bug for me--using the special Deluxe Edition throne from the DLC caused this bug, to where I couldn't use it. I had to switch back to the Inquisition throne. Also, when I tried to run passed/jump over the people gathered in front of the throne it acted like I was trying to jump over a slippery cliff.

Single player:

  • Putting notes on the map. Like: lvl x enemies, dragon.
  • More zoomin option in third person mode, but not into first person. (Makes the can't view up problem go away, like targeting rifts.)
  • Some hotkey for displaying monster properties in third person view (like in tactical mode), or a toggle key or an option for it.
  • Missing tooltips.
  • Tooltips in inventory sometime stuck on previously displayed item. Takes too much time to display, little annoying. Comparison not very user friendly.
  • Hide items from inventory that are currently equipped, it is confusing.
  • Some kind of sorting for selling/buying weapons and armor, not just by price. By armor rating, By dps, By weapon types.
  • An addition inventory category for quest-ish like items.
  • My british male inquistor voice always changing when jumping, sometimes has famale sometimes other male voices.
  • Fighting in forest is impossible, even in third person mode, can't see anything, trees always blocking the view.
  • Some skills has problem with targeting, like Flank Attack, Twin Fangs.
  • So many NPCs interrupting each other, can't properly view/hear what they are saying. Sometimes even quest givers too.
  • Option for quest givers won't start talking until clicking on them. Same when finishing / turning in a quest.
  • Sometimes controlled companions doesn't revive main/other characters.
  • Some codex entries are not labeled as new/unread, but they are.
  • No instant changing between menus: from character screen to inventory for example.
  • Inventory is a mess. Character selection by arrows has to go, bring back portaits for it. Previous dragon age's had good, manageable inventory. Why change it? This one not so much.
  • In inventory characters can only be spinned by keyboard and not by mouse.

And from previous topic:

  • DA1-2 style controlls and behaviors.
  • Mouse scroll doesn't switch between tactical and third person camera view/mode, already has a key for it.
  • Scroll the screen with mouse when it reaches the edge of it in tactical camera view/mode.
  • More distance between the camera and the character in both third person and tactical camera view/mode.
  • Highlight toggle or option, without sonar sound and effect. More visible highlighting.
  • Run/walk toggle.
  • Auto attack and target locking in third person view/mode, just like in DA2 or in tactical camera view/mode.
  • Faster or no looting/gathering animation, just like in DA2.
  • More visible loot.
  • Don't auto center on the selected character in tactical camera view/mode, it's okay in third person view/mode.
  • With keyboard+mouse remove marker in tactical camera view/mode, it already has mouse pointer.
  • LMB click to select an enemy or a party member.
  • LMB held down to select multiple party members in third person view.
  • RMB + LMB held down for mouse looking and moving.
  • RMB click on the ground near the character to walk there.
  • RMB click on the ground far from the character to run there.
  • RMB click on enemy to select, chase and attack it.
  • RMB click on loot/corpse/door/etc = run to the loot and pick it up/interact with it.

This on top of all the bugs from MP section, DA:I is just... lol. Seriously, who did QA for this game.
