I respect peoples right to like and dislike what they please. If people want to believe that DAO was better and they don't like DAI then they of course have every right to.

However I draw the line at the people who attack others for liking the game which I have seen on numerous occasions. Just because you don't agree with someone else's personal taste or preference does not mean that you must go out of your way to be an ass about what it is they have to say. Your opinion is no more important or correct than their own.

That is why it is called an opinion.

I have played DAI for about 5 hours, and so far DA Origins wins by miles.

What's better in Origins?

The story.

The characters.

The hairstyles.

The controls.

Then animation.

The cut scenes.

The AI pathing.

The immersion.

The voice acting.

The soul.

It's more action RPG. I'd say Inquisition is more tactical than DA2 but not to the level of extent as Origins was.

How so? I only finished one DA:2 playthrough and it's been awhile, but I recall combat mechanics being much the same as in Origins, though the style was very different.

I miss Origins Tactictal combat system.

Maybe I  need to crank up the difficulty in Inquistion, because normal mode so far is yawn worthy, maybe that will change, but I haven't even had to put thought into my build, just picking skills to see what they do, knowing I can respect later.

I also miss Origins Tac-Cam. I don't understand how it is even possible to go from getting an interface damn near perfect in Origins to this.

For me so far they are on par with each other. I have to say though, after getting over the initial shock of how different it is with such an open world... DAI is starting to come out ahead. I'll reserve judgement until I've finished. It still feels like I've barely started this thing! :D

I'm very happy. I've even gotten used to the M/KB controls, although there's definite room for improvement, especially in the tac-cam.

Ha, I had to look up what that was and it made me think of this: (It won't skip to my timestamp, but 1:10 is where it's relevant)

I don't like the game at all in it's current state. Tactical combat is non-existent, the button mashing combat with KB+M or with a controller isn't fun. I don't like the huge areas and content much either. The game feels like a single player MMO, but TBH i'd rather play WoW than DA:I.

I agree xept in the animation department. Voice acting in this game is pretty good imo but can't really say if DAO's voice acting is better shame you can't hear the warden talk.

The heavy-handed story of DAO was, I think, the weakest part of the game. Inquisition takes that away, and Inquisition is very good.

The mechanics are bad, and made worse by the lack of documentation, and the controls need work, but much of the game is terrific.

I loved DAO, and loathed DA2, and so far Inquisition falls strongly on the DAO side of things.

In what way was DAO heavy handed? I don't get what your point is.

I loved DAO and thought DA2 was an overall disappointment with a few things I really liked. On my personal scale I'd say DAO 8.5/10 and DA2 is 6.5/10

The cast is amazing. In the past games, I had my main group I would pretty much take everywhere. In DAI I'm spending a lot more time sitting at the companion selection screen crippled with indecision.

As someone who prefers the warrior class I am finding that to be insanely more interesting this time around.

It's is too early to say for certain because I'm only about 20-25 hours in split across the single player and multiplayer. So far I am loving it, though! It fixed every issue I had with DA2 and brought back some stuff from Origins I missed, all while introducing a bunch of really awesome new stuff. I haven't been this obsessed with a game since Skyrim.

The fact that there was no over head view at all.

I enjoyed both DA:O and DA2, though I vastly prefer DA2's combat (yes, I'm a dirty casual). DA:I's combat mechanics are different enough that I will need time to get used to it. I haven't yet got over the fact that 'tactical view' is basically a different combat mode and not just a shift in camera angle. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I missed mouse-based movement. I can't see why we can't have both that and WASD like in Mass Effect.

My girlfriend LOVES the Dragon Age universe and will tell you how Origins is "The Absolute BEST" in grand detail if you give her the opportunity.

With that said, she is LOVING DA:I right now, so much in fact i'll be pulling back a nub if I reach for the controller haha.

It should be noted we both played DA:O on PC and play DA:I on PS4.

Love da o liked da 2 esp after getting dlc like legacy and am enjoying inquisition. It ain't no origins but it is fun and big and ambitious. It's a lot of hard work and effort and it shows.

controls aside DA:I is pretty great.  lots of stuff to explore.. decent story (so far).. and they actually have a loot and crafting system i have to care about.

that being said, it is rather disappointing that the game has lost its identity - i.e. its no longer a cRPG.. its an Old Republic/WoW/Guild Wars hybrid with some decent crafting systems..

also, its obvious that keyboard and mouse controls were an afterthought.

if you can get past those negatives though.. there is a pretty good game in there... it just could have been so much more if they left the control scheme alone.

Legacy was the best part of DA:2. Mark of the Assassin was 2nd. Both DLCs were far more interesting than anything in the main game.

The fact that there was no over head view at all.

But that's just the angle, right? Couldn't you still  assign tactics the same way as in Origins?

Beards and hair are 1000x better in origins

Combat is better in dai however you lose specialization and weapon options

Design of some demons-same maybe even some better in dao

I would say the tactical camera and controls were far superior to what we use in DA:I. The action camera mode was actually better in DA2. So what we have is worse action mode than DA:2, ME1,2 and 3 plus worse tactical mode compared to DA:O. Feels like they tried to do something different for the sake of being different and did not work out well. It is still bare-able and can still play but it is worse in both regards. There are more issues I have with game but that's probably biggest one in terms of comparison to DA:O so far given I am only an hour or so into DA:I.
