No gamebreaking "bugs" for me. Just gamebreaking design decisions....

I would if I'd bought the game. Fortunately, I knew that BioWare isn't the same development studio we loved and trusted all those years ago and so I refrained from pre-ordering. I might buy the game if they fixed the PC issues.

Just got my refund for PC version. Playing on nVidia GTX 850M GDDR5 with 2GB and it is still slow and unresponsive even on low settings. Clearly a console port as menu and combat are joke including tactical view with KB + mouse virtually unplayable and frustrating, not fun.

Shame, Bioware was my all time favourite developer but they havent released a decent game in years. This is terrible get a refund.

Wish I could get a refund for my 360 version but that won't happen at this point, was considering going to EB and see what my options are. Perhaps just trade it in, I don't know.

Hi!

I wish this would sink into the philosopgy of most video game companies.

DRM only punishes the legitamte user, the pirate will never care about it anyway.

Make a great game and the sales take care of themselves.

What's all this comment comparing the controls of DA:I with TW2? In TW2 you control one guy, in DAI you control a party of characters. That's the main gripe about the PC controls. People bought this game expecting the same tactical capabilities as DA:O and DA2. Bioware's twitch streams used the tactical view as a selling point. The way they showed it, it seemed that you can control the characters on tactical view like how you do it in DA:O.  When I was watching the stream I was almost tempted to pre-order it, Good thing I didn't.

This is a total nonsense. Also if you have a party you control only one character at a time and hence the problematics arising in the control of the character are exactly the same (you need more options for party members - for example to switch to them - sure, but the way the control scheme works - or doesn't - is exactly the same). The problems with the control scheme, in fact, have NOTHING to do with having a party or not, they are shortcomings on certain design decisions (as not coming in range automatically when attacking).

TW2 had an abysmal control scheme at beginning, much worse than DA:I has now (and the problems of TW2 are not yet resolved while much probably the ones of DA:I will), and yet there was not even 1% of the backslash you see here, this is a fact.

Moreover this point of view that the game must have a "point and click" scheme to work properly is something that clearly comes from people that cannot fathom something different than DA:O because given the context this control scheme - without the current shortcomings - would work really well (if you don't see it then it just mean you are biased and that's all).

I am really curious as to why you want a refund.  Of all the games in the last several months, this game is nothing in terms of bugs, glitches, or issues compared to most others.  I think the releases of the last major Ubisoft games in the last 6 months, as well as LBP and Drive Club should make you reconsider your position.  Hell, even go back as far as Battlefield 4.  DA Inquisition is fantastic and has very few bugs, nothing gamebreaking.

you missed Bound by Flame...DA:I problems are nowhere as bad as bound by flames were and to knowledge still is

@Selea: The reason why people are trashing the game so hard right now is because the stakes were already high for Bioware after their last two IPs. To then be presented with an obvious console port version of a game which has been marketed as being "developed for PC as lead platform" is misleading at best.

Very true.  However, while the issue of piracy/drm was part of the article what I was referencing in regards to this thread is how much refunds effect the bottom line.

Hi!

This.

If they had said this game is primarily for next gen consoles and would be designed and tailored to that goal, you'd see a lot less complaining (I for one wouldn't even be posting here).

But they chose to be disengenuous and misleading in there statements. Becasue they did not want to compromise potential sales.

Of course given the nice little mess they have now, I wonder if it turns out to be ultimately worth it for them.

Hi!

Understood, the more refunds the clearer the message because THAT can't be ignored by accounting. That kind of thing catches the standard "bean counters" eye in corporations quite quickly.

At Selea.  Alright, I'll qualify what part of my input you so gracefully labeled as "crap".  Not playable for me, a gamer for 20+ years on pretty much every platform i could get my hands on.  Admittedly, I really don't like FPS.  Maybe there is a connection there.

If you can endure the UI, good for you. I'm awed by your stoicism.  Gaming is not a sport for me.  It's supposed to be fun and a distraction for the natural hardships of life.

But let me give you a precise example of what really pisses me off: overly aggressive marketing verging on commercial scam.

I was worried that the games would not be available in English version for people who live in a non-English speaking country, as I live in France.  So, I ventured on the Internet three weeks ago and ended on this thread: http://forum.bioware...version/page-22

In a nut shell, people in Russia, Poland and other countries in Eastern Europe were explicitly told -twice- on this forum that their regions will have full English versions available.  It was...guess what... not true.  They are region-locked.

The same logic applies to the PC version. DAI was clearly advertised on every piece of communication as a true multi-platform game.  After some potential customers voiced their concerns on Twitch that no gameplay footage has been shown yet with KB-mouse interface, Bioware even made a special Twitch stream showing the kB mouse in order to attract PC customers.

I've no problem with my type of gaming not being the core audience anymore.  Just tone down the bullshit, please, sometimes I get carried away and trust people involved with the selling of a product.  Silly, silly, me.

Looking at the released game, such statements and marketing practices are just dishonest.  And as far as I can tell, arguments to the contrary - excepting people who are die-hard fans of the game universe (which is fine),  boil down to : "I've no other RPGs to play and it's BIG"

OK, whatever...

im sorry but....

no auto-attack is not a bug....

no RMB click to loot is not a bug...

no RMB click to follow/attack is not a bug...

no companion combat tactics(like DAO) is NOT a bug...

using a Witcher 2 sonar like to search loot is not a bug....in witcher 2 it actually makes sense...it comes from his necklace! as of here what it is? a yellow submarine?

its down right disrespectful...

and i really REALLY hope that the idea of you giving orders in tac-mode and being disregarded by your companions when you leave tac-mode is a BUG....please let it be a BUG....

^ This guy sums up the reason why people are upset with this game. These things are staple for us PC gamers. Please, if you are on console, good for you but please don't tell the PC gamers that they're whining. If this was a single character game then the things said above would be acceptable but it's not.

I really think what they should have done is released the game for XBone and PS4 only, and then worked another six months on a PC optimized version.  They shouldn't even have attempted 360 and PS3 versions.  I have a feeling that the game is just too complex for these systems to run effectively.

I played the XBone version for 12 hours yesterday and really couldn't be happier.  Everything just seems so smooth and seamless.  Loving the story and having fun with the combat.

I really wish I never would have spent my money on a game I cannot even play(yep too late for EA to give me a refund) More to the point though,  Bioware used to make the kind of games I like to play, story driven RPG's.   Over the last few years I have come to realize that they no longer make the type of games I enjoy. From what I have seen online and from the reviews I have read this plays like a oversimplified action game designed for consoles.  That's fine if that's the kind of game you like.  But for me I AM DONE!!!! Bioware it's over between us, we have had a good run, nice knowing you.  If I am ever able to get this game to work I will play it and enjoy parts of it i'm sure;  but I don't think this will be the kind of game I can replay and enjoy more than once.

This is EXACTLY what I am thinking.. word to word

Thanks Bioware, it's been a nice run, I had tons of fun with BG1/2, Kotor1, Mass Effect 1 and 2, and DAO.

Good luck with your God of War consolized games you want to make and call "RPG", but this is exactly where we split ways, I am done with you, take care

You do realize, that console players have another thread, right next to this, asking "who the hell thought clicking thumb joystick every 1 second to Search is a good idea?". Having my XBOX let me tell you, clicking thumb joystick is the most annoying and distractive binding there is...

And trust me, if you try to control tactical camera on console, using 2 (TWO) cursors you have to move with controller... you will get suicidal very quickly.

Console controls are just as horrible! Same as the 2/3 of the game :/

Landscapes are nice though, but this is what I have Skyrim for.

Jesus, do you have to be so hostile? Point and click is most ergonomic for me and is the way I prefer to play, and there is NOTHING wrong with that. People are allowed to have their preferences. My husband hates point and click gameplay, I'm not going to tell him "well you just don't understand"; that doesn't make any sense. Yes, I'm biased toward my preferences, just like everybody else on the planet, so what?

I don't support being hostile to *anyone*, whether it is to the developers or other players. You're being as annoying as the people who bash the developers.

I see. I just thought that the controls on consoles are better since most people who praise the game are playing it using a console. Even metacritic scores on Ps4/Xbone are positive.
