Man, those Ti's are beast.

Preach. My case is probably too small, and they get near the edge of being too hot, but I have plenty of fans so they do only get "near" it.

What clocks are you using? I imagine its more than just what the factory OCs your cards. Did you bump the mem or core clocks in OC software at all?

[Edit] Was going to say "Wow that's amazing, how many GPUs do you have?" but I see you're on 1080p. Yes, I can see you are getting good playability with 1080p. What is that program that gives you that information in the image?

My graphic card is nice but theres a few problems with it; like sometimes during idle times I get black screens, and just recently I had visual artifacts (my temps under load never exceed 73-75 C) when playing but I turned off MSAA which fixed it (mostly).

I made the image with photoshop, and I got numbers from the in-game benchmark tool.

Those are pretty good temps for an AMD card if I'm not mistaken. What do you mean the screen goes black? It can't be the PC is going to sleep. Visual artifacts can be really annoying. Did you turn up your clocks too high? I know graphics in games are kinda wonky and sometimes changing settings can fix artifacts with little reason known.

I see, its photoshop. I have yet to purchase that, tho I do see its uses. Its a nice little layout you picked.

Nope, just the factory OCs. I initially played a bit with OC Guru, then reset it. Tried MSi afterburner, then again reset. Nothing added meaningful performance benefits without also causing serious instability.

Those tests were run without any monitoring software running, so represent better than I - theoretically - should get when playing as I use afterburner to keep an eye on the temps.

Yea when I had 4x MSAA my temps were about 74C, but now that I turned off MSAA it went down to about 66-70C and the visual artifacts disappeared (mostly). When the screen goes black, it just goes black without warning. I have to force shut down my PC via power button. Here's a video of what happens (1:35).

xD When I'm bored I make stuff like that for posts instead of just typing it out.

What's the chance it has to do with the monitor? I had similar problems before my $500+ 1440p monitor went dead.

As you've probably seen the video I linked here When settings are maxed I'm getting pretty poor fps @4K UHD on the benchmark for DA:I with 2x980s in SLI, so that is why I am pretty surprised at the performance you are getting with just a single tiers higher cards.

2GB more VRAM (makes a difference at 4K, the VRAM usage frequently hits 5GB+) but the crucial thing is the greater number of CUDA cores.

Not sure about what else may be having an effect, but regardless, the only overclocking that has been done was by Gigabyte before they went into the box  :)

I'm not running into VRAM problems (I don't think). But yes, 980 Ti has about 8,000 more cuda cores and that likely makes a big difference even though the clocks may be lower.

I haven't had a chance to test that. It turns out that most 290x cards just have this issue.

But I've tried multiple "fixes" provided online and it happens a lot less frequently now, though it shouldn't be happening at all x.x

I did not know the 290x had this issue. Its a shame that a card with such potential has issues that make playing games a problem rather than giving better performance. Too bad there isn't a hard fix for this right now. I would look into reviews of the monitor you have and see if it is playing a part in combination with the GPU you have. Don't know if it will have any relevance, but its worth looking into.

you should be demolishing this game @1080p. I bet you are getting almost a steady 100!

Haha thank you, I play with vsync but it does get up to around that with it off. :P

You're getting 34.1 Average fps and 22.8 min.

Its not terrible, but verges on the edge of unplayability (at those settings/resolution).

I would suggest turning off Multisample Antialiasing, and give it another go.

If you already have that off you might want to try lowering Tessellation and also HBAO+ if you have an AMD.

Also, what resolution are you playing at?

Multisample Anialiasing was already off, so I looked at Tessellation, which was already at low, so I turned that off and did another test.

My screen resolution is 1920x1080

It basically looks like this.

Try hitting the "Optimieren" button and try it one more time. If that doesn't help, try matching all the settings to what is in green from the image on the right and match that to what is the in game settings. You might have to write down all the settings and copy them in the settings under "options"(or your native language equivalent) > "Graphics" (or your native language equivalent).
