I get the concept of choice, I also get the concept if finite time and finite resources, and, as a result, the concept that the developping team has to make choices on what to do in that time and those resources.

And underwear is sooooo low on my list compare to things I actually want in a game.

And the cookie-cutter "it's RPG therefore it must have X" justification needs to die, seriously.

Ad 1: Yes. And some people, me included, think that development choices were not without flaws. Probably most obvious case in point: PC controls.

Ad 2: Reductio ad absurdum. Not going to argue with you on that basis.

Ad 3: Nobody said that. There's a world of difference between an objectified "must" and a subjective "should". See 2.

Good day, sir/madam.

It's not, it's a fact that devs don't have forever and a mountain of gold, so some things must be prioritized.

And how big is this world exactly ? because things like that:

Not casual nudity, because thats a pervasive stupidity associated with Bethesda games, but nudity that serves a purpose that is based on the players current choices in the world., DA:I is supposed to be a role playing game. Not having the option to get naked and take a swim...because you want to, is...kinda ridiculous.

is clearly attacking DAI's nature as an RPG just on the basis of not giving you the option to be naked.

I think the OP missed the memo; the new rule is that anything that makes the female characters look "sexy" is actually misogyny. The only permitted nudity is Varric's hairy chest.

I don't mind the modest protective clothing. Have you seen where Haven/Skyhold is located? It's ****ing cold as balls, and not to mention they're probably getting bruises and things every time they step out for a walk, especially given the amount of parkour and mountain climbing I do. For me, it helps with immersion/realism.

What the existing armor looks like is another matter entirely. My mage's current getup is pretty nice, and an enooooormous improvement from previous game mage armors, but there's still something to be desired. Hopefully the aesthetic improves when I become richer and get fancier things for the group.

So it's not even possible to go barefoot as an elf? I know of the devastating effects on human morality of seeing even small areas of skin (except around the eye region perhaps) but that's shocking. Of course you could ask yourself wether someone wants to see naked parts of the ugly bunch called companions ... It's sweet that the game frees you from making decisions in so many areas, nevertheless I will stay away from buying it till porn-mods showing naked ankles will arrive. So forever perhaps. Back to Skyrim, land of the (cloth) free. :)

I think the OP hit it on the mark with "un-sexy" (instead of "ugly"). You're right that the fear of appearing misogynistic is what motivated the developer in making "un-sexy" females.

At least we have Varric's chest!

No, that's what YOU want Dragon age to be.

Sad that "role-playing game" is now used as an excuse to justify useless demands like these.

Huuuuhhh...? Did you... play the other two games? That's not just what I want Dragon-Age to be, that's what Dragon-Age has been! And whats wrong with me having a laugh seeing how far my party can get through the game in their underpants? Why shouldn't I be able to get naked in public? Because I can't do it in real life? That's MY point..!

I get the concept of choice, I also get the concept if finite time and finite resources, and, as a result, the concept that the developping team has to make choices on what to do in that time and those resources.

You can bet your arse it took the developers a lot longer to design those unisex chastity pijamas than it would have to apply a basic underwear skin. It's entirely clear that too much thought and resources went into denying folks the simple ability to de-pant. The effort it took to deny me a naked party for no other discernable reason than the dev's deciding this 'isn't that sort of game' is at the core of my complaint, as naked takes much -less- work. I'm sorry, but four adventurers in their underwear utterly caked in gore is ammusing, and a game should allow its players to be amused, not go out of its way to prevent petty amusements.

Hey, do NOT mock the Bioware mountain of gold. I hear they roll around on that thing while giggling and making gold angels!

When was Bioware castrated to the point...

Ever since 3rd wave feminists SJWs got a foothold in the media and began their crusade against what they perceive as "sexism"/"male gaze"/etc. It's sad, but it's the reality of the world we live in (or at least the the world the people who made this game live in). GamerGate and ShirtGate are not isolated incidents, just the most prominent right now.

I did notice, that when you go to the war room, you're changed into your armorless state, I found that a bit odd, considering much of the armor is much more attractive, and formal, even than the PJ's you're forced to wear without armor. I do think it would be nice to have implemented some casual clothes, ie not armor, along with being able to actually strip down. I think more could have been done to make your companions more attractive, given, some do have interesting personalities, but it can be difficult to want to do the nasty with, but that's not really related to the subject, we're talking about the lack of lingerie, or at least normal underwear.

There are a lot of people here throwing insults at others character, their personality, and that's not the way to get your point across, instead it just makes you seem childish and bitter, and people ignore the point you were trying to make.

We're all talking about women, but I really just want to see the men in stupid underwear. Also my elf mage (also male) is hot and he deserves to show his Dalish goods.

Lets not beat around the bush here: Dragon Age games are supposed to be sexy.

Really?  In what universe?  Not mine, and the number of options to flirt with or hit on someone in the game so far are really just stupid and completely out-of-place.  Not everyone is some teen horndog, some of us enjoy playing the game, not trying to get turned on by animated characters…which is really quite weird and freaky, btw.

Especially since this game IS played by so many kids of all ages, ANY sexual content at all, let alone the graphic violence, is completely inappropriate, just like in movies.  Too bad more adults and all parents don't stand together against this for their kids, but that's today's society and culture.  Which is really sad.   :(

I'm extremely disappointed I can't continue the adventures of Captain Underpants. :(

I did the korcari wilds with a buck naked crew on several bored occasions a few times in undies and a few times with our swords and daggers out.

The characters look like dogs in DAI anyway, so I would like to avoid seeing them naked, if at all possible.  A more appropriate name for the game would have been 'Dragon face ugly'.   :)

Oh..ooh... now you started it.

You can get naked with mods, it's actually the first mod I heard of for DAI - rather expected actually lol

For vanilla however, personally I like having my clothes on. The romance routes with no sex are also the most enjoyable storylines I found; Solas / Josephine.

Besides since Patch 2 there's a glitch that makes all your companions "naked" if you don't let them join your party when you first meet them, and I'd rather they have clothes on if they have no armor.

I wholly agree with this post!! We went from naked characters and sexy Characters like Morrigan and Isabella, etc, who had actual PERSONALITIES and who were both HOT and INTELLIGENT, and ended up with the ugliest, most drab, uninteresting, almost completely repulsive people you could possibly imagine. What the hell happened to Dragon Age?!? This HURTS to play!

This game, according to Bio, has Mature Romance elements. Of course, having romanced Cass, the quest is over and that's it!

Then, again, I'd prefer better KB+M controls, auto-attack.... etc.
