Kasumi is mentioned as a female thief within a new brodcast on Ilium. If Kasumi is going to be a character she has already been metioned within the game and thus could be considered a person a mention by the illusive man. In which case Kasumi is female, thats her name, and happy sun shiney day lets have her.

this is quite possible as in the news report on Ilium it did say she was a thief and what better thief than an infiltrator. Lets face it, Kasumi has been mentioned in the game as a human female. If they make her a team member she will retain these qualities unless BW does a 180 and makes it so she's a tranny or a master of desguise.

So according to the local rumor mill Kasumi is basically a female version of Yoshimo from Baldur's Gate 2? Honestly, I hope not. Somehow a thief would stick out as most useless profession for this mission.



I just hope there's news about the Hammerhead soon myself. But any new info on any DLCs/expansions will be good, The devs did say something about a big announcement for ME2 in march.

I don't think Kasumi is DLC. I think she was a scrapped character that Bioware took out relatively late in development either because they ran out of time or because they felt they had enough characters already.

The name 'Kasumi' has been around long before anime.

Widen your scope a little. Japan's culture is much richer than just anime.



It would be interesting to see how different cultures on Earth have progressed through the Mass Effect timeline.

There's irrefutable evidence that Kasumi's gonna be a human female.
Aside from certain PC users hacking their games to bring up Kasumi's spot and bio in the squad roster (no pic though), she's mentioned throughout the game to be a human female theif, probably an Infiltrator.
Personally, I can't figure out why she's DLC. There's nothing that we know so far about her that strikes her to be as interesting enough to have even made it into the game. We already have a dozen squadies to pick from for missions, half I've ever actually used and found remotely useful
But that's my opinion, no need to spread it to the rest of the crew.

Engineers would be Tali & Mordin, Soldiers Grunt & Zaeed and Adepts Samara and Suze

That was a really good try up till Jacob.....what tech power does he have to make him a sentinal.....you realize he is a Vangaurd the Soldier-Biotic hybrid. Zaeed has no Biotics, he is a soldier pure and simple. Miranda is our only Sentinal.

So if you just move Jacob over there next to Thane as a Vangaurd you will have it all stright.

Just because something is "free" doesn't make it immune to criticism.

I'm not complaining that she'll probably be free. I didn't even mention 'free'.
I just can't see why Bioware would bring in a scrapped character as DLC instead of working on something a little more constructive. They're just doing the same thing with Zaeed... just took a little longer.

I may razz on Bioware at times, but I don't think we'll have to fear that.

The only thing may be some mildly irritating gratituous Japanese "-san" and "-sama" insertions, just like with Maeko Matsuo in ME1. I hope they can avoid that tired nonsense, but it won't matter too much.

Jacob's a vanguard, but I'd argue that Jack is, too.  She has the two vanguard biotic powers, and uses a shotgun and an ammo power.  Samara is really the only "pure" adept squadmate.  I'd like to see any new DLC character use cryo ammo, simply because it's the only non-unique power that isn't available outside of the player character.

This is like a bullet to the head. Ok say she is DLC, yay more fun for you, hopefully she'll be as, if not more, useful as Zaeed who really did make an awsome team mate, but horrible conversation. He probably only had crappy bounty hunter stories anyway.. anti-social $#%#@$. Anyway, Kasumi is mentioned in the game, if she comes out to play yay, if not you'll live.. or die depending on how you play the game. Lets face facts now, she is female, a thief, and human. She likes taking long walks through places of value and robbing them blind. What good is she? Well maybe she can get something you can't... or maybe she's just a person to mess with you love life with Tali.



If this game wasn't so awsome I wouldn't waste my time with you people... all you do is complain and find a reason why the world doesn't revolve around you. Word of advise, don't insult one another, don't gripe about something you have no basis on, and enjoy the game. We're lucky to have such nice things, unless you wana go back to the Pong Era.
