Right, I don't have DA:I now, but I couldn't resist spoiling myself to a nice first chat with Solas from Lady Insanity.
The dialogue is just so intriguing, and really answers some questions and poses a lot of other ones as well, so I decided to share the video and see what others think. I know many of you have probably had this conversation in-game, or some of you are just curious. It doesn't really spoil much, at least I didn't feel spoiled at all, but it was so fascination hearing Solas talk about ancient elven magic, the Fade, elven immortality, blood magic, spirits and demons and anything inbetween!
First, I expected Solas to say that elves were immortal because they used blood magic, or that they were not immortal at all. But he was like "nope, they were immortal, not by means of magic. Tis' was simply part of being elven". And I was like "I really, really want to trust this weird hedge mage. Them elven haters still gonna keep hating"
Then, did he just imply that.... blood magic was practiced in the time of Arlathan? Like, in a subtle form? But it wasn't related to immortality... oh boy, I'm so hungry for more lore from this bald dude.
And also, crystal spires, palaces above clouds, beautiful magics that took centuries to cast..... sounds very Tolkien-esque, and I'm loving it ![]()
And the Demon-Spirit thing? Wisdom and Purpose turning into Pride and Desire? How we affect the way spirits show themselves? The battle of Ostagar? God, this is so good.
So, what do you guys think? Is Solas' knowledge to be trusted? Apart from Felassan from the Masked Empire, this is perhaps the only living character that can feed us information on the Fade, Elvhenan and magic in general.... But some of the things sound too dreamy and good for elven fans. What do you make of the whole dialogue (even if it is so short)? If you want, you can give other spoilery examples, just not huge, game-changing or end-game stuff (if there are people who have completed this game already).
So.... opinions? ![]()
