So I went after Viviene and left a quest there, how can I go back? On a global map I can't, fast travel to that location is inactive.

I have the same problem. I left before finishing quests and I cannot get back, option to travel is greyed out.

It will unlock again after you get Skyhold (i.e. proceed in the main quest line).

Are you trying to travel via war table or the map you can open when running about?

 

 

I found that I can't fast travel there from the war table, but if I open the map my inquisitor carries around then I can go from the region map to world map and fast travel to Val Royeaux from there.

I can't get to Val Royeaux for Josies mission. Got Sera did the meeting and that's it. Can't get there from any map or war table. Have been trying 60+ hours. If it's a bug needs fixed.

2nd Try with different character. Am waiting for Josie to mention needing help before trying VR.

If you can't use your "World Map" to fast travel to Val Royeaux 

Post your platform in your reply, your character level, and the regions you have currently open (as fast travel options from your world map) 

Maybe we can find/see a commonality.

I have the same issue, except I have never been in Val Royeaux, because I'm not able to get in. It says that I need to proof that I'm not so bad. Then they will let me in.

I did everything in Hinterlands (except of course Redcliff and quest with Ferendalis), everything in Storm Coast ( except killing a dragon and meeting the Iron Bull - never met him), everything in Forbiden Oasis (except quest with opening the doors, I need more glass but no more shards are on the maps). I 'm level 12 and I have 104 point of power points and 6 (almost 7) of influence. What did I do wrong? Other then above I have no active quests. The only I have is "Go to Val Royeaux". heh with pleasure but how?

The only thing I can think of is maybe you overlooked unlocking it in the war room? Other than that I'm not sure.

I thought about the same. However, even if that is so, what game is this when you are not able to move with the main plot, just because you have overlooked the moment when entering the city was possible?

 

At early game I was asked to go to Val Royeaux, but Josephine said that probably she will be a better choice to go there. So I let her do it, and Quest was completed  as many other managed through the War Table. After she returned they did not want to let me in . And even I have 104 points of power, on quest view it says that I have 4/4 - uncompleted (the arrow next to it is not filled).

Open quest map.  (options/start/M).

In the upper left corner there will be an icon describing which button to push for "World Map".  

Push that button.  Search for Val Royeaux.  If it is grayed out, it is likely because you need to advance the main story a bit before it can be accessed.  I am CERTAIN that after you reach Skyhold, you should not be barred from accessing Val.  If so, then bug.

Issue is Val Royeaux exist for me only in War Room. On the personal map I have only locations discoverd / visited by me. Since I have never been in this city I don't have it on the map. And fast travel button on War Room map is grayed out ;(.

And as for pushing further the main story. I'm not able to because "Go to Val Royeaux" is the only quest I have (except the one mentioned by me, which I'm not able to finish).

Reffering above... I doubt that I will get Skyhold. You get it after first visit in Val Royeaux.

Did you talk to Mother Giselle then get the quest to meet with the clerics in VR? If not, that's why you can't go there.

It seems that it will be locked up until you have the conversation with your advisers in Skyhold that will initiate the "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" main quest.

Yes I have talked to Mother Giselle. She stays with the inqusition. I did for her one quest with healing potions. She said that I need to go to VR but... I'm not able to.

To get the skyhold I belive I have to be after my first visit in VR. 

I'm reinstaling the game. Maybe this will help.

wait wait, i didn't realized you were so early in the game. At the war table do you have the location marker? If there is no green rift thingy above it, you don't have enough power points to travel there, you have to get those by doing various side quests.  nvm

Yes I have the green rift , and i have 104 power points now. I did in game everyting what I could.

So the green rift cloud is there above the Val Royeaux marker on the war room map, but you can't click on it and activate the next part of the mission?

Exactly. I have reinstalled the game, and still nothing. It seems I need to start from the begining, but if after that, situation will repeat, I will &^&^%% Bioware ...

That is weird. I'm not a PC player really so I can't be sure on anything out of game, but shouldn't there be an option to "repair" your game somewhere? Maybe that will help?

Yes, there is. Not within the game, you have to look in your games library for DAI and right click on it; update, repair, etc. I'm on PC and I have to say I have very few problems with the game.

 

The only glitches I've gotten so far -

 

After the second patch, I have problems starting a whole new game. I cannot start one if I've just finished one PT, the prison cutscene will not load. I have to close the game and launch it again. Or if I load in a fresh tapestry, launch the game, it will fail after the Fade cutscene, my toon is left standing in the Fade with no where to go.

 

Bron at Redcliffe Farmsteads disappearing. So far, he has glitched only once in four PTs.

Obsidian Gryphon, thx for the tip but which library you are talking about. There are tones of them.

The only option on any *.dll file from the game I have is "recover the previous version".

 

Edit: Ok I have found such option on Origin.

 

Edit2: Reparing game did not helped. I started new game with different character and guess what. I have Mother Giselle in Haven, 5 points of power and on War room map... situation looks same as before. They wont let me in until I will proof that Herold of Andrasta is not a heretic.

 

I'm done with this game.

Isn't this the one where you speak to mother giselle and then go back to the war room/talk to your advisors?  I feel like this wasn't a bug but an overlooked quest marker.

So As I wrote before, I started new game with new character... and situation looked same. Except the conversation about going to VR did not start at all in War Room. So, hopless, I was wondering through Hinterlands, and I was checking out from time to time is anything changed... and finnaly the animation has started and this time I was able to go in. Story gone further. Thanks for your help. It had to be some kind of bug.

It did seem like a bug more than anything else. Not a very common one though. I'm glad the game is working for you now. Good luck and have fun!
