The eye can distinguish past 300 fps for most people. 60fps for games is better in every conceivable way, and anyone who tells you different is lying to you.
Actually, this is wrong. FPS is very much a game mechanic as much as it is visual. The more frames, the faster and more responsive things will feel. This makes a great deal of sense in fast paced games like shooters and whatnot. In a game like Dragon Age, you dont need 60 fps. 30 works just as well because the game doesnt require lightning quick actions and camera movements.
