Just to reassure (for the 100th topic) all people complaining about the gime: GIVE IT TIME.
I admit, my past 3 days with the game have been pretty awkward. But let me tell you, first 3 hours of the game, are the worst hours of the game. Not because they are bad, but because you are starting your adventure. Doesnt matter if you are new, or if you know Thedas better than devs. It will be hard. The controls and gameplay will be your first challenge. They are very .... weird (for lack of a better word) and you will never feel like they are perfect or even good, but they are workable and after a few hours of getting used to them you wont even notice it anymore, it will become natural (yes still hoping for a bit of a patch on the PC controls to make it better, but its not as bad as it seems at the beggining).
The next 10 hours will be the excruciating. You will fight with the game and with yourself to actually come to terms with what you think of the game. You will get lost. You will loose your way and feel like your doing all backwards. You will feel too overleveled at times, just to be destroid in seconds at the next corner. You will wonder if you are missing something, if you focused too much or too less on some sidequests. You will wonder if you are in the right zone and if you shouldnt be on some other.
There will be soooooo much, sooooo freaking much being thrown at you, and so much to do, you will want to go to bed, cover ur head with the blankets and cry.... Because your back in Thedas and instead of being excited you are scared. Scared that where is so much to do, you havent yet seen that Dragon Age feel to the game.
And then suddenly without realizing, you're 24h into the game and you dont remember the last 10h happening so fast. And thats when you realize you have been caught in the game. When you finally feel like you are in control. Not a master yet, because you havent even reached the end of act 1 (probably still half of it), but you are now in control of the game. You know what to do, how to do it, and where to go and do it. And magic happens. You finally realize the game you got yourself into and it is priceless.
It is an awesome feeling, and if you are having ill feels at the beggining, rest assured that it will change, and it will sweep you off your feet.
Give some time to the game and dont give into frustration, and the game will give it back to you 10fold and then some.
It takes a lot of coal to get the steam going, but when it does, it goes full speed ahead.
Its is a truly amazing game. Thank you Bioware. I am utterly excited to keep going and to discover what lies in the next corner (just not another dragon please, they hit too hard!!)
