I like Mass Effect and Skyrim, I've watched trailers of the game, and it looks really good. But I've never played the first two games and I'd prefer to honestly just jump right into this. I wouldn't have any saved data to transfer over from the first two games so I'm not sure if the story would be different for me since I have no choices from the first two games to transfer over? But anyway it looks really good and I just want some opinions.
Should I get Inquisition if I've never played Dragon Age?

Yes you definitely should. The games good, but it has some issues that need patching so maybe wait till patches are sent out!
The story is rich, the game world diverse and beautiful. There is so much to do. I always never know what to do when I'm done with a quest because of the amount of things there IS to do. It is an amazing game.

I don't know the answer to your question, I'm afraid, as I'm still waiting for more info before I decide to buy it.
But I can wholeheartedly recommend Dragon Age: Origins.
The animations are quite clunky, and the gameplay is far from perfect, but in almost every other way it is one of the greatest video games ever made. I have rarely experienced a complete, satisfying, sweaty, maddening, rewarding, exalting, emotional experience as I did on my first Origins playthrough. I would happily suggest that you should experience that for yourself, and there's no better time than before you play DA:I.
I'd skip DA 2 and just read a synopsis of the plot details, but others would certainly tell you that DA 2 is worth it, as well.

I’d definitely recommend playing the games. If you can’t, the second-best would be either watching a Let’s Play or similar of the general plot, and third-best would be to read—reasonably detailed—plot summaries.
Going in without any info at all is bound to be… well, it’s definitely not as rich an experience, but it’s certainly possible.

Start with DAO.
The Dragon Age universe isn't exactly progressing in a straight continuation like the Mass Effect trilogy so it is not necessary to appreciate the game, but it certainly helps with the former and not playing DAO is most certainly a loss, so might aswell start in chronological order.

If you want to play Inquisition then you shouldn't let the playing or not playing previous games get in your way. The previous games are fun, especially DAO, so it's just more games for you to play but if you are not interested in the previous games Inquisition will still be allot of fun and you won't have any trouble understanding the campaign setting.
Also if you want some back story but don't want to play the earlier games then go to Dragonagekeep.com you can watch the back story there and make a save file for inquisition if you want to as well.

You can.
But you should not, if you ask for my opinions.
1) Previous games were technically better for PC (not valid if you think about console version)
2) The game is very, very, very buggy in current state. And it applies to both PC and console version, including game breaking bugs.
TBH I got a feeling only the most hardcore fans should play the game as it is ![]()

As long as you're a hardcore RPG fan, this should be a game for you.
while i recommend you play the previous games, you can jump straight into DA:I if you dont have the time to play all previous installments. The catch is:You have to read all codex/notes to brush yourself up with the lore. This will enable you fully grasp what's going on in the world. If you're not the type to read up on in-game lore (it does get tiresome), then you might get lost playing the game... CAUSE ITS FREAKING HUGE!!! ![]()
A shortcut: Go to the dragon age wiki site and read up the plot summary for Dragon age origins, Dragon age awakening, Dragon age 2 & the novels. This gives you a good background before starting DA:I
