Does anyone know where you get/buy/craft this armor?

I got the hat as a Random loot drop.

I have been looking for that armor as well. Have yet to find a schematic, or even loot variant of it.

I got the hat from killing the dragon in Crestwood. The schematic was on his loot. Got it yesterday after my 5th or 6th try on that female monster. LOL! I'm guessing the sleeves and boots schematics are on others. Can't blame the High Dragons for hoarding fashionable items

The schematics for the hat and armor are unlocked by getting the Mage Armor Inquisition perk from Cullen, but not the arms and legs that go with it. I got the schematics for the legs in a random chest, but haven't come across the arms.

There are two perks for mage armor schematics then? I got one (forget from which advisor) that gave me one which was similar to the game's cover armor. Been looking for the robe in the pic above for a while now.

 

Edit: yeah can confirm that the perk does not give you the armor pictured above. Still looking.

Did anyone ever find this? I distinctly remember seeing it used in promotional trailers featuring events that occur early in the game, which is irritating.

I'm still looking for the schematics for the sleeves and boots. As far as I remember I got the schematic for the hat in the picture above from killing the dragon in crestwood. I don't remember getting it from a perk, because at the time I had only spent 4 points and was going crazy I didn't have more perk points. I had unlocked the ones for extra inventory space.

 

I am on my second playthru and will see this time what I get from what. Just finished the game after 76 hours of playtime.

Agreed. I've gone two playthroughs as a mage and still haven't found this armor. Schematic, or premade loot drop.

Can someone actaully confirm this because I haven't even seen pictures of it other than the promotional material.

 

I'm hardly surprised but equally irritated since Bioware showed off that armor in gameplay videos during scenes that take place well before Skyhold.

I just got the crafting drop for the hat, it's suburb quality, from the merchant in Emprise du Lion. I am very disapointed with it, it doesn't show your hair. It puts some sort of hideous, leather scalp thing over your hair.

I have the "Set" on my Mage, I think a Dragon droped me the Robe, there is also a recipe to craft it, I haven't found it yet. The hat is crafted, unfortunately the T3 version can only have a resistant stat. Normally I wear something else. I'm sure you can fit hat and robe colors with a crafted robe version.

Well the collar, shoulders and gloves are basically the whole outfit, otherwise it's just the standard Enchanter Coat. I haven't see them anywhere.

No, the armor. The one that dropped for me has a different color scheme than the picture OP posted, though.

If i recall, the armor looks like that with some subtle differences. Like little hanging things on the bottom of the coat.

I havn't been impressed with pretty much all helm items there is always some issue with either cliping or, as you said, some weird mesh/texture where the characters hair is exposed on the model, only helms that are decent are the cowls/hoods but even there the colours never match the armor so I just hide helms.

 

I am happy with the look of this armour going to get it asap, so much better than the superior battlemage armor and other tier 3 mage schematics they look so bad.

damn it, I didn't get the armor from the dragons in this area. F. random loot. What bothers me after doing all quests and stuff, the enemies are all gone, at the beginning of the game, enemies spawned right into your face every 20 or so seconds and now it's like a dead town. Chests don't respawn, enemies don't respawn. Yesterday I tried to farm some materials for a weapon and I needed elite bear pelts, they are all gone... WTF. Once I fought 3 elite bears at the same time in the hinterlands and now I can only find maybe 2 or 3 normal bears in the whole area.

Do we know if there is even a schematic for this armor? Or is the black version just another drop? Also, what is it called?
