Dear Friends:

 

Where do you find the freaking cool hats in this game? So far all I've come across are ugly helmets and weird Orlesian masks, and my rogue Inquisitior needs better headgear. I have seen screenshots on tumblr, so I know they exist, but I'm 30 hours into the main quest and I haven't seen any awesome hats yet.

 

In addition: where can one find weapon/armor schematics? I know of one shop in Val Royeaux, but I don't know of anywhere else. :/

There is a dwarf merchant down near the docks at redcliffe, doesn't have the hat but has heaps of schematics

Helmet of the Inquisitor can be found in Western Approach fortress after you captured it.

 

It's in a loot box on the battlements above the main gate if I recall correctly.
