..And along with it went 2 days (and 6 hours) of progress. That includes a considerable amount of accumulated power. It would have been 10+ had my PS4 not backed an old save up to the cloud. Unfortunately, my save from yesterday hadn't been uploaded yet.

As for what happened? I decided to fast travel to the Hinterlands from that swamp area (can't remember what it's called), since I figured I'd finally go get that damn horse. As soon as the game finishes loading, it crashes. I assume this happened while the game was autosaving, hence my save was nuked. I expected the autosave to be bad, but the whole lot of them went belly up.

Someone hold me.  :(

I don't have the game yet, it should be arriving for PS4 in around 12 hours depending on the postman.

Just reading your sorry tale made me sick a little bit in my mouth. I don't even have PS+ or cloud backups.

How do you avoid crashes? If you make multiple save files is there a way around it.

right click on your save folder in C:\Users\******\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age and go to previews versions, try to restore if there is any.

Edit: ^^ If you're on PC, that is. I'm on PS4.

I had 4 or 5 separate saves and I couldn't load any of them. When I clicked load from the title screen it just says that the file is corrupt. I have no idea how to avoid crashes either since it came out of nowhere. Just back up after every session to be safe I guess.

That's fantastic advice right there.

Sadly I don't think he's likely to have that folder on his computer, because the game is installed on his PS4.

He lost ALL of his saves because one autosave corrupted. Save as often as you like, it makes no difference.

You just have to pray that the game doesn't crash while it is autosaving at any point.

Just a random crash.

And yeah, as Starscream says, multiple saves didn't help. I'm wondering if it's because the profile also went bad though. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. *Shrugs* Anyway, I've started replaying and I'm actually stumbling across things I didn't the first time, so it's not too bad.

So if you upload your saves to the cloud, you should be safe?

I guess that's a workaround, thanks for the advice.
