I don't need to see nudity, whether it's Josephine, Liara in ME2 where you stay faithful and get nothing at all, at least until the DLC came out, or nudity, doesn't matter to me.  I'm just saying people should have the option to play their game the way they want to and have the romance progress to the point they want to.

So I take it this is a non-issue then, because you can make a choice that's pretty much "we'll bang ok" and she's like "ok" (conversation in the Arbor Wilds). So the romance already does progress to that point if you want it to, pretty much exactly as you stipulated, even if you don't take earlier scenes as having already implied it, unless it really is just about the naked pixels.

Josie is the perfect woman. Don't need sex scene. If she were a real person and my classmate or something, I would be in love with her.

Why bother with romance at all, if your just gonna be a prune. Friends that care but they don't share.

Nothing rewarding from suffering endless dialogues with a bunch of pixels anyway.

I would not like to broach the subject with any of the options here.

Cassandra. Vill deet you. No you won't please go and read the manual first

Josie. When I can understand what she is saying because she is not speaking fastfoward, she has an attraction to opposite, but doesn't want her heart broken. A shame I was never after it, when playing any game

Sera. She would steal my boxers, then slit my throat for not making those red jenny hobbits

Viviane. A courtesan, but do I pay first to play.

Leliana. Off of the cards because she is a nun

Solas. Wants to sleep together

Cullen. Drug addict

Dorlan. Bats on the wrong team

Cole. A spirit, not appropriate

Iron bull. Horns really don't know what is getting poked

Blackwall. Far too angry

Varric. Possibly not

The only fun person to flirt with, is the little spy on every zone who smiles, laughs back, and won't date you..

I was kind of forced into this whole romance thing in this game. I would rather not have at all.  Wondering what the heart did, next thing I knew everybody is give me strange looks, causing me extra load times  I choose Josie on the simple grounds, she would be more appropriate to my station than any other options within this game, giving me that political sway. The female equivalent would be probably be Cullen.

If they bothered more with the game over any of the charcaters it might have played better.

I don't care.  All I did was make a general comment, not even talking about Josephine about how people should be able to have things culminate the way they would like, whether it be a sex scene, sitting and watching a sunset, cuddling by the fire, whatever.  Why there is so much resistance to this idea I really don't understand, this is just mind blowing.

A Josephine sex scene probably would've been awkward as balls. It would've seemed out of place during the initial SL, imo. Vivienne is publicly Duke Bastien's mistress and it's not frowned upon. Yet Josephine doesn't even want to be seen as being unfaithful to a fiancé she doesn't even know. She's all about doing things in orderly steps and being discreet.

For that reason I would have much preferred a proposal or some promise of betrothal scene, particularly given the engagement quest, over a sex scene. And who's to say her parents won't try to marry her off again if they decide they don't approve of the quiz?

The lack of such scenes, in addition to the possibility of turning down sex (Sera/Dorian) while still maintaining the relationship, allow for a more diverse player experience. Not everyone wants to make the romance about sex. Some players want to rp an asexual or chaste romance. Some players want to head canon Josie and Quizzy getting married before finally consummating their love.

Making the original stated intention that they were offering a choice for hetero/****** orientations kind of shaky. Straight guys and Lesbians get 2 options... but they made one of them Asexual /chaste and thus your character has to be into that for that to be an option. Gay men got two options... but one is a BDSM/kink character and you essentially have to rp that your character is into that for it to be an option.

If you aren't asexual, or into BDSM... well then you have the one option.

If you're referring to Josie here, I have to say that's rather surprising  that you read that from her character.  My read of her is that she would be a very passionate, albeit very private, lover.  Just because there are no scenes of it doesn't suggest asexuality at all.

?

JE only had an onscreen kiss. That certainly didn't make the romance chaste. Just because there's not an onscreen sex scene does not an asexual/chaste romance make.

Josephine's writer Sylvia said it was perfectly valid for players to see Josephine as abisexual or demibisexual thus the romance be an asexual or demisexual one.

This.

The lack of a sex scene was intentional. They've said as much, they were adding more representation.

We should have known the character with the baggiest clothes would show the least amount of skin

I had to look those two words up.  Never heard of them before.  Had I had to pick a word to describe her, I personally would have used demure.

It's one of better romance scenes of the game..at least one that doesn't seem to be written by a male.

Is there any way to get Blackwall and Josphie to hook up? I thought that would have been awesome if I could make that happen. Kind of my Garrus and Tali moment.

Glad I could introduce those terms to you then. ^_^

Oh, she is definitely demure. I was just saying that the writer confirmed that the romance can be seen as an asexual or demisexual as well as a verisexual(sexual) one because she can be seen as an asexual bisexual or demisexual bisexual as well as just bisexual.

No, nothing ever happens between them other than what the game talks about. To which I am extremely grateful for.

Tali/Garrus ruined both of my main Shepards.  :crying:

Please, Tali and Garrus' attraction for eachother was established since ME1. I was already thinking to myself, "will you two just get a room already?"
And then seeing Tali "inspecting" Garrus' mandibles Was just hilarious.
I like that my side character can get a consolation prize of them don't end up with me.

Really? They didn't become really friends until Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect 1 he was pretty hard on her.

The fact they are so good together is why it ruined those playthroughs for me. I can't romance either of them anymore since I feel terrible about stopping that from happening. And since they were my main romances for both genders, that ruined a lot of playtheroughs on that front.

People shouldn't be seen as prizes.

I was actually quite disappointed at the lack of sex scene with Solas. While I felt the concept of the romance was really interesting, for me it lacked cutscenes overall, and yes, it did lack a sex scene and to me that made it feel poorer than others (like Cullen's).

I would be totally okay with an asexual romance, but as Solas' romance is not, so I would like to have that part addressed in a cut scene. And that doesn't mean "it's about the sex".

While I really liked that they left it to the player to decide just what went on offscreen ... I'm really pleased to see Bioware getting away from "checklist" romances where the player can expect every romance to culminate in a standard issue sex scene.

I'm pretty sure Solas and Quizzy did do it, both in the Fade and the real world. Both characters reference it.
Inquisitor: I didn't think we would be doing IT in the fade.

Solas: getting you into bed is just an enjoyable side effect.

Oh that's what you mean. Now that I think about it I didn't romance either of them because they were so cute for eachother. So yeah, but I don't think of it as ruined. I went with Miranda but like always my canon romances always leave me..... Should have gone for Liara.
Anyway, Blackwall and Joshie would have been sweet. The lowly scoundrel getting together with the classy noblewoman. That's just classic.

I think that requires actually ignoring some of the dialogue and character interaction on screen though. After defeating Corypheus its implied in my opinion, that the Inquisitor & Josephine did more than chat in the bedroom. There is potentially suggestive dialogue leading up to it (before the final battle the Inquisitor can tell Josephine he/she can't wait to get her alone later), and later during the party the two of them sneak off into the bedroom giggling like a couple of teenagers.
