Well if you count companion LI´s, then yes, straight males got less. I feel Josephine is like Kelly Chambers, a filler. Nice but still lacking.

I'm not sure that is a fair comparison. Kelly Chambers had very little content at all. She was a very minor character on the scale of someone like Bailey from ME3, except that she had some LI content. That isn't true with Josephine, who has as much dialogue at Skyhold as other LIs. If she were to be compared to Mass Effect LIs, I think Traynor or Cortez would be a more accurate comparison. And even then I think Josephine may have slightly more content than either.

I think Traynor and Cortez might actually edge out Josephine now thanks to the Citadel DLC, but still, all have a great deal more than Chambers.

Personally I don't think that straight females faired much better then straight males in the romance front. Ok so we can romance the Bi guys, Bull and Blackwall but Blackwall is a bit of an ass to be honest. Cullen is probably the best and Solas only goes for elves. Bull's romance is probably not too bad, he seems like a nice enough guy but I don't think he takes sex very seriously at all. Or any Qun for that matter.

I don't much care about the nudity. Cullen's 'sex' scene had very little of that to be honest. I do however like the lead up to the romance taking that final step. For some reason it doesn't seem like a 'complete' romance if they don't consummate. They are in fact faced with what could possibly be the Inquisitor's final days and hours and they are supposed to be in love, for me it's a natural progression of the relationship under the strain that they all face and it does seem incomplete when it doesn't happen. Thankfully, I love the Cullen romance and will most likely stick to that with most play throughs.

Yeah, Cassandra and Cullen's romances seem to hit that nice balance, the Solas one was nicely ambiguous whether or not it was consummated or not, but with Josephine, a lot of it kinda felt like she was tip-toeing around the Inquisitor like she does with Blackwall if you don't romance her?

I can get that Josie's a fan of courtly and chivalric romances, but you'd have to question why someone who was trained as a bard for a while and whom lived in Orlais and all it's intrigues for so long, is so blind to the fact that the Inquisitor is obviously hitting on her until they actually tell her so? Unless she's playing dumb (like the Warden can with Leliana) and is waiting for you to make the first move, it seems out of character that she'd not recognise your intentions sooner?

And speaking of Cullen, would have been funny to have some jealousy dialogue, that Josephine had seen Cullen in the buff before the Inquisitor?

Or maybe, since she is a diplomat, she worries that this can complicate things for Inquisition.

Not sure how her flirting progress, though. Cullen's flirting is really well done in its build up/pacing and can be integrated into the story seamlessly.

Yeah, when Josie hustled Cullen at the game of strip Wicked Grace, leaving him to run back to the barracks completely starkers.

(Although Sera probably saw more, given that she was under the table...)

I told before game release advisers romances will be not even close to companions. All say wait until game release.I don't need wait, I was right. Josephine Disney romance worst in all DA games. :( Short compared to other and boring.

It was actually one of the longest. Longer than solas and as long as cassandra. You must not have gone all the way through

Well, to be fair, she wasn't a bard for long before she realized she sucked at it...and not just the murdery bits.  Also, she's only really oblivious early on, which is understable considering she's probably working hard at her job and can't fathom that some nutter is trying to score a date at the end of the world.

Once the quiz starts laying the compliments on thick, however, Josephine knows exactly what's going on. She doesn't pretend she doesn't. If anything she tries to delicately extricate herself and keep things on the up and up. I wouldn't be surprised if she's afraid to get involved with her the Herald of Andraste (aka her boss).

And sort of OT but I got around to watching some of Sera's romance (I've only seen bits of Iron Bull's) on YT and it made me so glad that there was no Josephine sex scene for Bioware to muck up. More time would have been nice, but I'm happy that it was handled the way it was.

I don't think she was lacking at all. Just because she doesn't have a sex scene doesn't make her 'lacking'. Josephine actually has a full-fledged romantic subplot. Kelly didn't have anything along those lines. It's not even a comparison, as far as I'm concerned.

The card game happened for me, after Cullen and my Inky engaged in desk dancing. I imagined her enjoying the view far more then the rest of the crew. :D

Josephine and Cullen got the exact same amount of resources dedicated to their romances as the companion LIs did, so they do not have less content.

Get a PC and make a mod...

EA don't let us make mod and release unfinished games.

Bethesda release almost done games and let us make mods.

You know people have sex. I hate to bring that to everyone's attention, but sex is a normal part of romantic relationships. Sure not everyone has sex, but most people do so I don't get why they can't have a sex scene. They don't have to show anything I don't mind an implied sex scene (you know where you know they are totally going to bang, but they don't show it), but you know something would be nice.

Because like you just said, not everyone has sex. So why can't their be a video game romance that does the same?

Plus the writer left it ambiguous and personally thinks they do it, so there is the 'they don't show anything' in this one.

Yeah, the idea that everyone has sex, or everyone wants to have sex, is a profoundly untrue one. If BW decided to leave the amount of sex had or not had in Josephine and Solas' romance open for interpretation because they wanted to respect players who are asexual or who simply don't want their PCs to be in a sexual relationship, then they have every right to. Not only are there six other relationships in which sex is explicitly implied, but there is literally nothing in the game to prevent the player from filling in the fades-to-black with their own version of events. Unless you require the game to hold your hand and spell out what kind of foreplay was involved and who spent the most time on top, very little is actually lost by not forcing the whole "but you know they are totally going to bang" moments too hard.

Well to be fair, none of the LIs have a "true" sex scene. It's just more heavily implied in some than others. But all you really get is Cassandra, Cullen, Blackwall, etc. crawling on top of the Inquisitor, or Dorian, Sera, and Iron Bull propositioning the Inquisitor before it fades to black. It's nothing like DA:O, which showed clips of an  (almost)naked Warden and LI actually in the act, combined with corny sex music (The image of my Warden's O face is forever burned in my mind, do we really want to go back to that?)

I think it's safe to assume that all of the LIs are having sex with the Inquisitor if they have a relationship, including Solas and Josie. They are adults, they're going to do adult things.

Yep as far as I'm concerned Josie and my PC waited til after Cory was defeated then went at it <3

Her cuddle scene would've been very awkward for a sex scene to happen during.

I thought it was implied during the aftermath of the final battle with Corypheus. Prior to that the Inquisitor can have suggestive dialogue with Josephine where he says he can't wait to get her alone. Later they both sneak off in the middle of the party to the bedroom, and after the fade to black it is morning, implying that they spent the night together.

I suppose a player can head canon that they just talked all night as well if they prefer. But there's enough there to suggest more as well.

I think what is patently unrealistic is expecting people living in the olden days not to procreate. Real history shows that was all there was to do. How many siblings did do you end up learning about? Do you think siblings can happen without sex? It doesn't fit her character not to want to have her own family. Just look at her back-story for petes sake. So by leaving this bit out they essentially neuter her character. So from a psychological standpoint it doesn't fit and from a biological standpoint it doesn't fit. And you know what they say. If it don't fit you must acquit.

Hm, I thought I heard you see Cassandra's top half naked from the front if you romance her, but I'm assuming that perhaps it may have been Sera instead then. And, well, Dorian's ass.

No you do see her topless.
