To be fair, that's what the existing Dalish believe - and given that it's been proven time in and time out that their lore is piecemeal at best I really can't put much stock into their views in regards to the actual truth. If you've ever played telephone, you know how hard it is to keep information straight - even if it's only a few minutes. Now add in over a thousand years, slavery, destruction of their entire culture not once but twice, the rest of the survivors now scattered to the four winds or in alienages, and you get one hell of a mess. In the Dalish Origin for Origins they didn't even know that Dwarves apparently traded with elves, and that temple in the Brecellian forest played host to all races which everyone found surprising as well.

On the other hand they don't have the time to gather knowledge as one might think.  Most of the time they have to run from human groups and villages because they are constantly hunted, they probably have a bit of actual data (books, writings and what not) about the old elves but makeup stories of their own to satisfy a need to know their own history.  Even if you knew the truth about facial tattoos in your fallen culture, would you rather live an ignorant lie or tell everyone the ugly truth?

And the Humans know of the Dalish culture because the conqueror usually preserves some information from those they conquered if only to build upon existing data.  Solas may have killed her, but the possibility exist that she may have taken control of Solas as well doesn't it?  It wouldn't be the first time that she used her magic to control another.

All I am saying is the Dalish have been hilariously wrong about their own history, but we don't know that those who founded the Dalish after the fall of the Dales actually sought to preserve all that they had learned about Arlathan, or if they only kept the "happy stories" or made stories of their own.  When I look at the Dalish now, I see them as naive children when compared to the Elves of the Dales, or Arlathan.  They don't mean to be wrong, they just happen to be.  But like the OP said it is to be expected after years subjugation, cultural genocide, infighting and time.

I kinda feel they're both playing each other and that this sort of thing is nothing new to them lololol

That's also the feeling that I got honestly. They're both ancient, and it's been shown several times that Flemeth has her own agenda and while not evil, can certainly be harsh and tends to do what she sees as necessary to further her agenda. She was definitely doing something with that eluvian before Solas showed up (maybe splitting a piece of her spirit off again because she suspected what was going to happen), and she didn't seem surprised to see him. They were both acting suspiciously during that scene; I mean Solas apologized before he killed Flemeth, but Flemeth apologized also in a very suspicious sounding way, which just makes it muddier whether he actually took her soul or whether she possessed him. We know that she was in need of a new body, so it's possible that she let him kill her human body and take her spirit for those reasons, or that she let him kill her so that she could highjack his body at the last minute. However, it gets even muddier because it seems like they were working together the whole time, so possibly have the same end goal, in which case, maybe her letting him have her soul was a last resort plan they had discussed previously? I mean, it was clear that Solas felt that his work was not finished yet, and he mentioned a price that needed to be paid but that he was unwilling to pay it. The game leads me to believe that Solas is not just big, bad evil, just as Flemeth isn't, but I can see both of them being manipulative and driven to reach their ultimate goals through any means they deem necessary.

It could be just my constant insistence on seeing the good in all, but many times in my game Solas seemed to be genuine, though tricky of course. His expression when you first try to seal the rift at the beginning shows someone desperately hoping it'll work because he made a mistake. He does not want more deaths. When he confesses how he feels about my human female Inquisitor after his personal quest and at the end, he seems honest too. She even tries to have him found when he leaves. That end scene with Flemeth seems more like a mutual understanding before whoever did whatever to the the other. Just me maybe, but I can't see him as the next main villain. Too many hints he did care and grew attached to his companions despite it all. And as for his romance, it too affected him to end it and I can't fault him since he never progressed it past a kiss in the Fade. Blackwall is the one who took it too far before hurting you. All in all, if he did become the next villain, I would assume he was no longer the Solas we knew after that end scene.

As for having him stay at the end, he had a high friendship with my Inquisitor but still left, and based on who he really is, staying would make no sense, nor would he feel welcomed after they learned he caused all this.

The scene i got was different again. Flemeth was all sad like and let herself get... "Killed" and solas had a visage of a ghostly wolf face when flemeth collapsed. Was cool. Or maybe i never noticed some of the parts. I hope they announce a dlc soon but i get the feeling itll be so large itll be considered an expansion. Like awakening.

@Edwin you managed to get him to come back?

And you just fell to his/her trap card.

I don't for a second believe he killed Flemeth. She remarks "I knew you would come" - Flemeth is nothing if not clever, why would she willing walk into danger? Her apology also suggests despite whatever he tries to pull, she will have the last laugh.

Which is good, because Flemeth is awesome.

More like she is a pawn in a greater game then you see. She there because she had to die and pass the torch. Winning does not mean the queen survives.

That would be Morrigan. Or even the Inquisitor.

If you were friendly enough with Viv, you can walk up to her after the end game, ask her if she'll stick around, and she'll rejoin the party.  Solas is gone, but, well, knight enchanters are more useful anyway.

(Having said it, Dorian's not too difficult- just turn off Spirit Mark/Lingering Mark in his AI options, and only use it when you want to: AKA NOT ON FADE RIFTS OR BOSSES.  Otherwise, you can get annoying waits and glitchiness.  Otherwise, Horror is good for ranged party, Siriculum is an okay backup plan, Walking Bomb is still as fun as ever, and Haste is always useful.)

So, I am really confused by the thread. I just finished playing the story, and Solas is clearly not in my party anymore. HOWEVER, I know his tarot card changes, which lead me to believe you can find him again. I read the codex and it says he was being tracked. So does that mean I CAN find him again, or not? I was in a romance with him, and I thought there was meant to be a scene where he confesses who he is to you. Someone please tell me because I am really crushed by how things ended, and that he has a bunch of good loot and is now gone lol. I have the Jaws of Hakkon DLC as well. Halp.

After the final battle Solas leaves and you can't get him back. We suspect that the last dlc will be post ending and Solas will play a part in it but what role he will play is a big question mark.

If you want him in your party for JOH and Descent you have to play the dlc before that final battle.
