I currently have:

Wicked eyes, wicked hearts (Celene)
Here lies the abyss (wardens)

Both are marked with the main quest icon. I'm just wondering in what order I should do these? I do not want to advance the main story more than needed.

I don't think it matters. They're both main quests, but I don't think the order matters. I just finished Here Lies the Abyss and I'm about to start Wicked Eyes, Wicked Hearts.

Thank you! So doing one of these wont send you down an avalanche of sudden endgame?

Nope, they both need to be done. I've still got Wicked on the war table.

I did Here Lies the Abyss first, but neither of them trigger the point of no return, so I would assume you can do them in any order.

If end you want Act 2 to end with a major battle than go with Orlais first.

The Orlais one is more fun though imho but the Warden quest personally felt more like a climax for Act 2 (even if technically there is no acts within this game).

Can anyone tell me how you can tell the difference between MAIN QUESTS and SIDE QUESTS??? When I press "J" it shows the journal and a list of quests. Thers' no hint, beside the description, at which quests advance the storyline....

On the war table, you see a fade rip above it. Those are generally the main story quests.

Everything is more or less there to help you get power OR is a place for your companion quests.

It will tell you when you reach the final quest and whether you want to continue or not.

It says "Scout the Hinterlands" is completed. Does that mean I don't need to do anything in the Hinterlands anymore?? I still have many quests though...

Also, it tells me to "Complete the 'Watchtowers in the Farms' operation at the war table.

So I go to the war table...and there's nothing I can do to complete the quest?

Ah. You need more power.

Continue to do some quests and eventually you'll get power 4.

Then it unlocks the next main story.
