I assume that I am not, but hope springs eternal.

Is there some way, like in the previous games, for me to click on an object/target and move towards to activate it/attack without having to manually move with the WASD keys?

If not, is there any reason why this functionality was removed?

No I don't believe there is. My guess is to facilitate a more console/controller style of play. But FWIW it isn't too bad, I tried both control schemes and prefer mouse and KB ultimately in the end, and once you get used to pressing F the way you press A on the console, you should be able to get used to it.

(Besides tactical camera doesn't work that well as a top-down perspective camera the way it did in Origins - but it has it uses. I switch to it to issue orders like Hold Position then switch back to Action camera on 1 character)

This is just depressing and seems like a fundamental change in the combat system. I must have missed this somehow in the preview videos. I really don't want to play a game with this style of combat (ala Divine Divinity and such, it drives me crazy).

Follow up question: Any chance I am missing the click to move option somewhere? Or have we done away with this as well.

Nope.

They have gone for a more direct control action game style rather than the previous games more automated systems.

Its a game style choice as i see it.
