Maybe this is one of those games that take a few months and several play-troughs, to get into, because I'm just not getting it yet.

In your case it just sounds like it's not your type of game. If you liked any of the previous games, then I am officially scratching my head, but then again I understand I will never understand everybody.

I feel it is also necessary to say that there is nothing wrong with how you feel obviously.

I am loving the game so far. Can't wait until I am out of work so I can play all weekend!!!

I think this is a game some people don't get deeply immersed into until they get a bit into the game. Once you open up options.

I'd like to thank your entire dev team as well.  I came off a bitter disappointment with Destiny, thinking it was going to be the new gold-standard in gaming.  It turned out to be a shell of a game, and I thought that next-gen was going to be a cesspool of vapid, creatively-bereft games that were all flash and no substance.  Then my EA pass trial of DA:I started.

Within moments, I knew I had a gem on my hands.  In the 20+ hours that have followed, this was confirmed.  This is not just a great game.  This is a new bar that has been set for other developers.  I know this will come off sounding like hyperbole, but your game is, literally, a game-changer.  I truly believe you've made the industry better with this single release.  Future projects by other companies and developers now have something of epic quality to measure against their own efforts.

When companies like Activision hack their game to pieces to re-sell as DLC, Bioware delivered a game with so much content and space to explore, that I am still in disbelief.  I feel like I've received the equivalent of multiple games in one package.  Adding a bit of co-op MP was also a stroke of genius.  You threw it just enough content, plus the framework for great longevity, to make it worth investing time into.  Obviously, it was made with an eye to having people purchase more maps to play later.  But you know what?  I fully support this, and I'll be sure to buy they when they come out?  Why?  Because your single player game is worth more than the price I paid, so I feel like I've received value for my money.  I'll happily support this model.

I know I keep bringing up Destiny, but your game is the antithesis of the approach Activision used.  Unlike you folks, they gave players so little content in the "campaign", and almost no story to invest in.  I hope every one of their developers at Bungie tries DA:I and hangs their heads in shame for the pathetic game they released.

I honestly can't thank you enough for delivering DA:I to the gaming world.  We've been waiting for something this good for a long time, and you came through like champs.  You should all be proud of what a fantastic, creative effort you put in.

I have some remarks regarding DAI being not flawless (PC controls, tactical view, some aspects of character's looks, a little 'consol-ish' style etc, BUT at the same time:

Thank you for a wide, rich world. For great world graphics which doesn't need hardware that powerful to look stunning (even though there are some optimization problems for PCs).

Thanks for the interesting NPCs, I enjoy the gameplay a lot.

And my biggest 'thank you' so far - for sounds and music ! The music inside a tavern is so great you can just watch and listen to the bard all the time.

I hope you will release a patch which will fix some of the flaws this game certainly has. And even though I'm complaining about DAI's particular aspects in other threads (it's constructive criticism though), I'd like to thank you for all your work  which results in my impression of this big world being alive.

Signed!

Loved this game from boot-up.

Shout out to the mappers/level designers and artists; this is the best environment art and landscape work I've ever seen in a game (SW:KOTOR Kolto was previously my favorite). The scale, the detail, the natural appearance. The mountains remind me of the North Cascades, the Oasis reminds me of the Grand Canyon, the stained glass looks extravagant, the waterfalls look real for the first time ever in a game, and the rotunda! I love that there's a painting in progress.

In the past, hardware limitations meant that level designers and artists had to imply the appearance of an item or building to a varying degree, which was a skill in itself; but now it looks as if you guys hired an architect, a carpenter, a landscaper, an horticulturist, a painter, because you wanted to actually build a world.

Fantastic job.

But who is going to clean up all the leaves in my yard? Who is going to paint the windows and baseboards? Nothing is getting done around here. May be I will get to these in next year when I finish the game. This might surpass ME2 as the best game ever.

Not sure if a serious thread.

Completely serious.

This may seem out of character for an internet forum, but I posted this thread to show gratitude.

The market for these kinds of games, these huge, sprawling single player RPG's is shrinking.

They are expensive, time consuming, hideously complex beasts that frankly don't have the same return on investment as a AAA Shooter with half the content.

For people claiming to be fans, it seems sometimes that forums are nothing but an excuse to rant and complain.

I wanted to create at least one thread where I could offer something positive.

I appreciate not everyone will like the game.  I appreciate the game has it's bugs and it's issues.

But it's a beautiful thing none the less and the world is a little better for it.

The game is amazing. It has been a long time since I've thought about a game while not playing it during the day. It certainly draws me in and makes me want to see what is next.

Does the game have bugs? Sure, but what software doesn't. Some people have COMPLETELY unrealistic expectations around what it takes to develop and quality assurance test a game like this. I'm sure your teams of people will review customer feedback and make good decisions on how to tackle real problems.

Please do not get discouraged by some of the other posts in threads wherein customers have expressed unthoughtful comments about how boring the game is, how fast they can complete it, etc. They are simply wanting to stir an unnecessary pot.

Well done.

Still in the Hinterlands after about 14 hours of play and about 1/3 of that map to go, and so far I'm really enjoying it.  The control scheme is sub optimal, but that's been said to death so I won't harp on it here, especially when everything else is so fricking awesome.  If the rest of the game is done this well it will be the new Skyrim until someone can manage to knock it off its pedistal.  Bioware, once again, proves that it knows how to make rpgs worth playing and I look forward to spending many long hours doing just that.

I am a Bioware Fanboy. Not even going to try to deny this. I loved every single one of the Mass Effect games, to this day making a certain choice here or there? Makes me cry.

Manly, tough skinned tears of manliness of course.

I loved Mass Effect 3's scope, the size, and yes the ending(s).

Between Dragon Age Origins, and Dragon Age 2 - and all of their DLC. I have anywhere from 700 to maybe 900+ hours of total game time. The first two games I ever Plat'd.

I adore Dragon Age Inquisition with a firey hot passion.

A manly, burning passion of sharing steak'ems of course.

Thank you Bioware, for your work. For your efforts. For helping the fans, dealing with the fans and remembering that like you - the fans are human. We make mistakes and we say things we may or may not mean in times of anger, sadness, and the worst disease to plague people on the internet - boredom. Thank you for listening to our requests in some situations, despite the ludicrous amount of things we beg and whine for and or about, and thank you more importantly - for not, listening to some of those requests.

When you put the game, the piece of work's, integrity above your own standard of customer service, and when you put it above the petty, child-like almost schoolyard levels of assault against your own personal staff (I'm looking at you, twitter/facebook threats).

Thank you for continuing on, for having patience with yourselves and with us. Thank you for your fantastic writing, art design, sound editing and your overall accomplishments.

Thank you Bioware.

I'm around 30 hours into the game now and damn it is good. I can't believe how good it is. This is my new all time favorite game and will be playing this for years to come. They did an absolutely fantastic job with this. So, thanks! I'd give this a 10, but nothing is perfect so a 9,9 will have to do. Again, thanks BioWare!

Thank you for a game I'm enjoying despite some annoying flaws that I am not shy about complaining here in the forums. :)

Ha! That's pretty much me. So far I dislike the lack of storage, the inability to name save files (two big WTFs for a massive game like this), some of the clunky UI, and the fact that the tactical camera doesn't zoom out worth a damn. But as someone who hasn't played a Bioware game since DA:O and thought they just don't make 'em for me anymore ... I am very, very glad I gave Inquisition a chance. I am nowhere near the end, only just reached Skyhold, but it's definitely been a more than worthwhile purchase.

So thank you for taking the "risk" of trying more open world this time instead for the first time since BG2 instead of tiny theater-stage zones where fences, pebbles and puddles are inexplicably unsurmountable barriers for super-athletic Jedi and martial artists.

Thank you for the gorgeous sceneries, marred by conflict though they are.

Thank you indeed for the dragons -- I've only seen the Hinterlands one so far (and the weird-looking one that tags along with a certain unpleasant someone), but I expect the others will be as magnificent. THAT is what a dragon should look like! She makes the dragons in Origins, who were pretty good for their time, look like half-baked teenage wannabes. It'll almost be shame to fight her and others like her. Can't we be friends? :P

Thank you for the overall fairness in the presentation of the various factions instead of whitewashing some and demonizing the rest. That is part of what makes a "mature" story, not copious amounts of gore and naked ****** and abusive language.

Thank you for the increased diversity -- I noticed a lot more dark-skinned NPCs compared to Origins, and that female scout in the Hinterlands who dallied with a female rebel mage was also a nice surprise.

Thank you for a very enjoyable story so far, one that has both personal and world-shaking aspects, both of which are important for me to really get into a plot.

Thank you for the Fade sequence, which was one chilling hell of a trip and so much better than the drawn-out weirdness of DA:O's Fade sequence.

Thank you for respecting player choice and not forcing a One True Canon for the previous games on us. The Keep with its world states is a great idea! Back after DA:O was released, I was one of the people who argued with David Gaider that forcing (in that particular example) the "dark ritual" on everyone would be a horrible idea and destroy all sense of continuity and desire to play any sequels. My Warden is dead. I wanted her to die ever since I saw the Calling trailer, and the ultimate sacrifice was my perfect ending. I'm very glad that was not handwaved away, though I'd have liked her to be mentioned a bit more.

Thank you for the cast of characters. I may not like or trust all of them, but others like the advisors, Solas, Varric and Cole definitely stand out in a good way as trustworthy, competent, likeable and/or intruiguing. And unlike some previous games, I can see better reasons for allowing most everyone to stick around.

Thank you in particular for Cassandra, who is so well-written and well-acted, so intense and focused and loyal that I loved and admired her from the word go. Add learning that she is also genuinely caring for the good of the world and, despite her temper, wise enough to know she may not see what the right way is, undeniably accomplished but don't-mention-it-can't-rest-on-my-laurels humble about it, and you have a character for whom "badass" is so insufficient a term that it's almost an insult. Earning her respect and friendship felt like a true accomplishment to be proud of. Also, I see her as the most physically striking character you've ever designed, with top notch voice acting to match. She has definitely claimed the throne of "favourite Bioware NPC".

Thank you for the entirety of In Your Heart Shall Burn. Everyone who was involved in that, from the sound and music people, to the singers, the voice actors, the character animators and scenery designers, and of course the writers ... just thank you. Incredible work that just kept punching me right in the guts in a very good way. I played until four in the morning last night to finish this, and I still have a lump in my throat just thinking about it.

I have to say, 50+ hours into the game (having restarted after 30 hrs due to the Qunari/Human bug) that I'm enjoying the game a lot more than I feared I would before last week and now that I better understand the new controls/mechanics (and acknowledging there are things which could be done differently (or better imo)) I am enjoying playing my Female Qunari Inquisitor. Hopefully it will be even better once BW fix all the bugs (and maybe even implement some of the mechanical requests people are asking for) - and I get a better PC that can handle Inquisition's higher graphical demands (but even on Low - and clocking an average 15 FPS! - I think the game still looks impressive).
