Right now,I’m running game on two Radeon 6970 and in order to have some decent frame rate,I had to lower graphical setting to Low/medium.Which I don’t like

But,I saw some good price for Asus 970 Strix OC card,so I’m interested would I be able to play game at High 60 FPS 1080p?

Tnx

With a GTX 980 I get 60+ fps at max settings so I am sure GTX 970 will be fine as well as it is only 20% slower than a GTX 980.

That are good news, because price difference between (Asus Strix) 980 and 970 is more than 300 USD (in my country).

All of my settings are on Ultra with my new GTX 970 (purchased just because of this game) and it looks great.  I'm not sure about FPS, is there some hotkey to show FPS?

I think there is in-game benchmark,but I’m using Action.

There are some free tools,though(Afterburner,etc)

I would suggest getting the 8Gb Radeon R9 290x if you want the best experience in Dragon Age: Inquisition. It is slightly higher priced than the GTX 970 but is much faster for running Dragon Age: Inquisition, even faster than the GTX 980 for DA:I. For other games that extra 4 Gb VRAM will come in handy as well.

Are you sure for that 8GB version? Only versions with 4 GB vram are available, but they are 150 USD more expensive than 970.

And to be honest and don’t want to start flame war or anything, but I have enough of Radeons.

Radeon R9 380x and R9 390x are rumored to be coming in January/February 2015. R9 380x is going to be equivalent to GTX 980 but cost significantly less and R9 390x is going to be faster than GTX 980 and cost same or even slightly less. So yeah you might want to reconsider. If this is true than GTX 970 won't look as good as it looks now.

Right now GTX 970 is the best value card for a lot of games but for Dragon Age: Inquisition Radeons are better and the next-gen Radeons will be even better.

Strange things to hear from Nvidia user.I would think that you are in fact AMD fanboy infiltrator.

Just joking,please don’t respond :D

I like both AMD & Nvidia because they make great products for all kinds of price ranges. Generally AMD makes better value cards than Nvidia but Nvidia makes more power & heat efficient cards than AMD. The performance is great whether you choose AMD or Nvidia, the difference is very minimal provided that the developer has coded the game fairly for both AMD & Nvidia.

That being said if you want the GTX 970 get it. It is a great card and definitely better than what you have currently.

Caveat that I have one of the highest performing stock OC 970s, one of the Gigabyte's, that comes stock at 1380 mhz core

At ultra 1080p with 1.2x DSR for AA instead of MSAA and with effects set to High I can always maintain 60 fps in MP. Often 70+ which looks great with my high refresh rate monitor but sadly I will be avoiding the fps swings with adaptive half refresh vsync

Tessellation auto defaulted to high and Textures to Fade Touched (supra Ultra)

SP of course is a different animal but I actually raise the fps limit to 72 there with adaptive half refresh and 144 hz refresh rate. A framerate which is almost always maintained and which means the fps is certainly decently above 72 most of the time

DSR works well btw even at the lowest setting. As advertised

I'm also thinking of getting a gtx 970, can anyone give a straight answer to this? Will it run everything at max, including 4xmsaa at 1080p and 60fps?
