I put points on new abilities and I stiil can't use more than 4

You can use 8. The Left Trigger toggles between them.

And why is that? Are you playing with controller? If yes than you have 4 abillities, and 4 more when holding left trigger.

I don't play with controller. I don't get it..

If you are playing with keyboard then you have skillbar at the bottom of the screen, right?

Other than that - there are active, and passive abillities.

It depend if you play the Story or the Multiplayer

 

Because in solo you can have 8 abilities but in multiplayer you have only 4 (the 4 last slot are for potions in multiplayer)
