Does anyone else find that there's no great "average" Caucasian skin texture in character creation? There's pale, extremely pale, some sort of gray looking color, and then a few sickly looking colors. No matter what I choose, when I get in game, my character always looks so weird compared to the other NPCs, particularly Cassandra.

I think the culprit might just be the eerie lighting in the tutorial area. I remember Bioware saying they used some sort of special lighting effects for the tutorial, and I think it doesn't work well with the skin textures.

I can't seem to get very far on any character because they all look so weird. Knowing that there's no Emporium to change your looks later is really prohibiting.

Yes, the irony is that they specifically said the lighting in the CC had been designed to ensure that the character WOULD look the same in-game.

*sigh!*

Is it really too much to expect that post-creation amendments to a character should be possible in-game? For me, that was one of the few positive innovations in DA2 and yet BW hasn't seen fit to include it in either ME3 or DA:I. I don't care how great a developer thinks their CC is, this is such a small thing that makes such a huge difference, it should be standard in all games with Character Creation tools.

Yeah, I feel like "making sure the player's character looks the same in character creation as it does in the game" is sort of the white whale of RPG character creation for some reason, when the answer is obvious: just make it a priority to give us a way to change it after the fact. That shouldn't be considered an extra at this point, in my opinion.

Right now, I hope BioWare's highest priority is a DLC pack that has the Black Emporium mirror.

Anyway, I tried to be all slick and add some blush to my character, just a really slight red color. It looked pretty subtle and good in the creator, but in game it was a lot more noticeable and really stood out, unfortunately.

That pale skin ain't bad...it does look like ghost in CC but once you get in game it will look rather normal and not 'sick pale'.

yeah, my character is really pale (the intention) and has weird lips, when she smiles the middle of her lips stick out so much that it makes the smile look awkward.. haha
