If my post-game save for DA2 does not have Anders in my party does that mean I executed him or was there another option like telling him to p*ss off? I get the feeling that I might have killed him but I'm not 100% sure.

You'd know if you executed him. When he first tells you he's blown up the chantry, you have the option to fight him. If you didn't, then you didn't kill him.

I definitely sided with the Templars.
Mage - "Why is everyone so mean to me? I'm not dangerous."
Me - "I disagree."
*Mage makes a pact with demons and tries to murder everyone in sight with blood magic

That's not true at all. I didn't know you could fight him. I just killed him with the murder knife.

Heh. I didn't know you could do that! Either way, if he just disappears, you haven't killed him. You do actually know you're doing it.

Clearly I didn't know if I had executed him or fought him or I wouldn't need to create a new thread asking about it.

Obviously I couldn't remember if I had killed him or he had left the party some other way. That was the whole point of this thread. Seriously, if you don't know what you're talking about then just stop talking.
Who did you side with? If you sided with the Templars and he is not in your party then he is dead, if you sided with the mages then I believe there is an option for you to tell him to leave Kirkwall.
Thank you. It's so nice when the person who answers actually knows the answer.

The answer I gave you was correct. I admit I didn't know there was another option that was also correct. I note your comments and your tone, however, and I shall be sure to avoid trying to help you in the future.

If your idea of help is telling me that I know something I just said I don't know then please be sure to avoid trying to help me in the future.

If you sided with the templars and he's not in your party he's definitely dead. You can tell him to leave after he blows up the Chantry. If you sided with the mages he shows up again at the final goodbyes where you can let him rejoin the party or send him away for good (at which point he leaves the party screen.) If you sided with the templars though, you are forced to kill him later in the battle.
