If he died, Anora is queen.
If he lived and is King, I can't see him being a companion. Can't see the king being aloud to slip out for a little adventure.
If he lived and isnt King he can come with you

Or, Bioware decided that they couldn't incorporate all possible endings into an expansion and made a beginning where Alistair and your PC are both alive. (Since you can use the epilogue save.)

Theres going to be a point where it takes more work to code in the various possibilities a player makes than it does to code new content in an expansion. I'd rather they used the zots to work on new content thanks, immersion be damned. Saying "This is the Canon Story" is a tried and true technique for making progress, no reason to change it now.

I think the more appropriate thing to say is this:
There is going to be a point where BUDGET restraints and DEADLIINES set by EA is going to FORCE a canon story.

All you get in the trailer - from what I can tell - is a glimpse or two of a 'possible' beginning. An aperitif to whet your appetite. Not: this is it, like it or lump it.
Chill out, man.

I think bitter, alcoholic Alistair could have the potential to be the greatest thing ever.

From a certain Ferret A Baudoin -
Yay, I can finally talk about what I've been working away at.
Some random answers to questions brought up (obviously I can't answer everything):
* Choices in Origins definitely are recognized in the expansion.
* You do import all of your gear from Origins, but not from the chest in
Soldier's Peak. But you can always pull out what you like, save, then
import that save.
* You can't play an Orlesian Grey Warden in Origins.
* Amaranthine is indeed the coastal arling that once belonged to Rendon
Howe. And, of course, everyone will speak with a Jamaican accent. OK,
maybe that last part isn't true.

Showing reactivity in a short trailer (especially the first trailer) would probably cause folks a lot of confusion.
So how about releasing a second trailer for the ****** sapiens amongst us?
