What about the Inquisitor's voice swapping after
Spoiler- any workarounds?
To keep your voice from changing just go with the default appearance. So they'll look like what they've been depicted as on the game covers and trailers.

I knew about that, and if it's the only workaround I'd rather wait for a patch than have
You are supporting PC a lot but, what about PS3/360?
All of us who are playing in PS3/360 wants to know if you are doing something to fix problems.
It seems as though the PC is having more pressing issues related to stability of the game so they're likely prioritizing to fix that first then they'll move to other bugs and glitches all of the versions are dealing with. So you'll have to be patient, they'll get to it

Spoilerbut I was hoping there was some other way to avoid the voice change - thanks anyway.
I choose the default appearance when I played so I'm fine, but others didn't so it's understandable.
I'm also having random crashes, just no directx errors or anything , just crashes to the desktop. These have gotten so bad that it makes the game unplayable.
Specs:
Intel I7-920 OC'd 3.2 Ghz
8gb Ram
AMD HD 6950 2gb (latest beta drivers)
Win7 64 (cleaned and all latest updates)
Crashes are way more frequent the more i progress in the game, used to be around half an hour, now they happen around every 5 minutes.
I have the same setup except graphics is Nvidia GTX 780 Ti. It only happened to me once and never since. Just mentioning that in case it helps troubleshoot anything.
What about a "workaround" for key and button assignments, so it feels less like a lazy console port? ![]()
This might be a minor problem, but in my game cross class combos are broken. They do only 1 damage when triggered by the inquisitor.
For me, The game locks up about 50% of the time on the main menu when I start it. A lot of End Tasking and restarting. Has only crashed on me one time while playing.
Sometimes before clicking to connect to servers, and sometimes while connecting to servers. But once it gets to the actual menu to continue or go to multiplayer, it's fine
I posted this in the Community problems thread as well, but will repeat it here because it might be helpful to some:
To those here with Nvidia cards who are suffering from game crashes during cutscenes and on the war table and then get a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG message on desktop, I had the same but managed to get rid of it by turning off "Origin in-game" (that is how it is called in the Dutch version of the interface, at least). I was suffering crashes in nearly every cutscene and visits to the war table, but since changing that setting in Origin I have had zero crashes while I have been playing many, many hours and have been taking my time during war table visits
Yeah I removed that yesterday...Origin is already too intrusive. Can't play the game without the danged store app popping up...annoying as hell, I feel like I'm being babysat or something. That core thing once its on your machine you can't get it off no matter what. Unless they changed that. Bugs me that they feel its necessary. I pay for my games...I shouldn't be a target of that.

I am thinking there's probably a memory leak...seems to lag the longer you are in game. Then when you go to shut it down, it gives you an error message that you can't shut Origin off. I don't get black screens, seems to slow down and not be as responsive. Can I say I just hate the controls? I use wasd, and my mouse pointer to steer up pathways and around corners, my silly elf spends her time waving her staff around and firing off shots...at nothing in particular. Whose brainy idea was that?? wasd...and then the mouse either to attack or to steer. Obviously a consoler that tested that one....sheeee.

Actually it's not, old gen has it worst from what I have gathered. Game has hundred different bugs and issues and is unplayable state for many. However I think the are prioritizing PC cause it's problems are easier to fix ^^;
Any news on a fix for the PS4 cinematic scenes? Getting to the point where i'll have to stop playing and wait for a patch soon.
Im sorry but:
Im still getting the DX error. After spending hours opon hours trying to fix it im done with it. None of the suggested solutions are working.
(and if you take a look at " EA Answer HQ: Dragon Age: Inquisition " you can see im not alone)
It crashes in cutscenes and in cinamatic dialogs (randomly). It is stated from many others.
Yes.....this problem is 90% related to something from the game.
Bioware should be ashamed of this PC Version.
(the controls in this game are also....underwhelming but they want to adress this in an upcomming patch)
After the time i tryed to fix this technical mess of a game my money is lost. It is way more than 24 hours since i first launched this broken game.
To be honest....if i get through those cutscenes without a crash (fast clicking through those and praying) the game runs perfectly smooth on ultra settings. ![]()
My System:
Windows 8.1 64 Bit
AMD FX six-core 6350
16 GB RAM
Gainward Nvidia 650 Ti Boost GS
I dont know if they interrested in patching it but im have my doubts. 70€ wasted in pre-ordering and the digital delux Edition.
Should have learned from SW:TOR.
(Greatest game-disappiontment since Rome 2.
)
A slightly weird solution for the instability/constant ctd's: Kill explorer.exe (thru taskmanager) after entering game. You can easily start it up again when done playing. Start up w 'Origin disabled in game'. Ctrl-Alt-Del to taskmanager --> rightclick 'explorer.exe' ---> End process ---> switch back to game.
Played 6+ hours straight with 0 ctd's before exiting. Been playing some today, still no issues.
Cons: any Media-related buttons on your keyboard (volume, etc) won't work during play so set the volume ingame.
I realise this is very much an individual experience but it wont hurt to try it out.
I'm using i5 2500k stock clocking, 8gb ram and Gtx 760, Win 7 64bit
Am I right in thinking I cannot assign keys like auto run to my mouse ?
Just to emphasise..the kill explorer workaround is actually working (knock on wood). Another 4hrs playing today: 0 errors/ctd's. Slightly baffled here...
Can you provide me with a bit more information on the set up you are running, as well as when/where you are encountering crashes? Also if you have an approximate consistency rate for how often you encounter crashes, that would help.
Still getting DirectX crash after trying all of the possible fixes.
My setup:
CPU: Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition @ 4.1GHz
GPU: GTX 760 in SLi (Default clock and 344.75 driver)
RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX (1608 MHz)
OS: Windows 7
The only consistency regarding DirectX crashes for me is that they always occur during cutscenes.
So my problem and this, then I click on start origin plays on the image of DA: inquisition, then after a while you open the window and I see a green logo on the bottom right ... after be about 15 minutes then the logo of bioware that I sometimes stutters and disappears after which I get a black screen and a background in music that lasts for 2 minutes, and then stops and the game crashed me without making me access the main menu.

I'll try this when I get home, so far nothing else has worked! Not a big deal if you're working on side quests, but would be nice to fix it for good!

Bless you for posting this. I kept getting crashes at a certain cutscene and this solution fixed the problem.

If you do this (And your computer doesn't automatically reboot) Ctrl+Shift+Escape. Click File, click New Task, type "explorer.exe" without quotes to restart it without rebooting.
Windows key + R and typing Explorer.exe works, too
Hi guys, I'm having an issue where the loading screen appears repeatedly to the point I can't continue playing and have to quit to desktop and restart.
I don't have an issue loading the game, but I noticed this problem whenever I'm at the Hinterlands near the Dragon area. I'll be duking out with the dragon for several minutes, but then the game automatically loads back to the most recent save (quicksave or normal save), and then it reloads and reloads and reloads non-stop. It's not that I'm crashing at the load screen. The game manages to load but before I can do anything it reloads again.
I'm using a GTX680 with the latest driver.
Bugs report.
My specs:
Intel core i5 3330
Gigabyte G1 sniper 3
16 GB RAM Corsaire vengance
Saphire 9750 whit bost edition
14.11.1 beta catalyst drivers
Run on DX11
ULTRA settings
50 hrs of play, the only game breaking bug i have encountered:
1.-If you stop a chat whit a character via cancel button, some times the chat remains active, so wen you triger a dialogue cutscene the game gets stuck and you need to reload the game.
