I had been playing for a few days on PC using an xbox 360 controller and it was working fine all of a sudden it has stopped working (Works fine with all my other games on steam and origin) this stopped me from getting past the opening screen as I had to press start on the controller. I fixed this by deleting the options profiles from my documents and it has got me into the game but still the controller doesn't work when I switch to gamepad in the settings, are there any workarounds for this?

As for your issue... I know Crossfired/SLI'd GPUs are running into massive trouble with this game, and I know overclocked processors do so too... but if even turning it off doesn't help, that's strange.... Have you tried with both just 1 GPU running, overclock turned off and low-med settings?
I've literally tried everything I can think of. I tried with one GPU set at standard clocks and overclocks, I even tried underclocking to see if that would help. All to no avail as there was no discernible difference at all, keeping with the insane hitching and low frame rates even on the lowest of the low settings. I'm installing the game again to see if there might have been something wrong with the install, but it's a long shot. I'll post an update later on today.

I got a really bad bug where after the cutscene the dialogue wouldn't trigger at the end of the mage decision after you fight Alexius. I think I got through that by changing dialogue choices but I had to fight through the whole ending a couple times.

Just wanted to leave some feedback on my experience with Mantle vs. DX11.
I've been playing for about a week and not had any real problems. My system has an FX6300, 8gb ram, and a 2gb 7850 GPU (overclocked a bit) with the latest beta drivers, and running windows 8.1 64 bit. With MSAA and Ambient Occlusion off, and everything else set to High, I was getting framerates in the 30s and 40s using Mantle. Last night I switched to DX11 and noticed a marked improvement in framerate. Also I am using the 30fps cutscene fix and it definitely works for me.
Apologies to all the PC players who can't run the game reliably right now, for whom this post is probably the last thing you want to read.

Mantle is bugged as f*ck in DAI.

In other news, those beta AMD drivers seem to be making other games run like crap and ruined GPU scaling on older games, so I rolled back to the most recent stable drivers since the conversation bug won't let me play DAI anyway.

Hi all. I'm suffering a reliable bug which I've so far been unable to fix. Every time I enter the Eluvian with Morrigan at the start of the "what pride hath wrought" sequence (after completing Halamshiral and Adamant), DA:I crashes to the desktop just before we're about to emerge, right at the start of the second cutscene. The first time, it crashed just after we left; now, every single time, it crashes just after the loading screen before we emerge. There's no error message and the crash is instant; a single frame of black screen, and that's it. Every single time.
I'm running on a Radeon 5700 series graphics card (with the 14.11.2 beta), with 4 GB of RAM on a Windows 7.1 machine; aside from occasional DirectX crashes the game has been perfectly playable until this point. I have tried hitting Esc to skip the scene, restarting, turning off Origin and post-processing, running in windowed mode, cranking the graphics settings down, updating DirectX and Virtual C++; none of these things have worked.
This is getting really rather tedious as it means I can't progress further in the game. Anyone got any ideas?

I have a AMD Radeon HD 6800. My graphic settings are all on Medium , which is only the shadows on Low.
My MSAA is off .
My Ambient Occlusion is off .
I can play normally. Only during cutscenes that the game crashes with DirectX error message . Some cutscenes work and others crash with the error message . It's random .
Please fix this problem . I'm really enjoying the game , the only problem is that DirectX error in cutscenes .
Windows 7 64bit
AMD Radeon HD 6800
I7-2600
3.40GHz
8GB RAM
PS : Sorry for my english . I tried my best .
I have an almost identical setup and I am having the same issue. My drivers and Direct X are both up to date. It seems to crash around every 1-2 hours, often when I interact with an Astrarium or an Oculara. It is most frequent with those events but has also occured during conversations with NPCs or just while traveling through an area. Below is condensed information about the issue.
An update on this issue would be welcome. Thank you for your time. ![]()
Bug Triggers: Ending or Engaging in Discussions with NPCs (when there are cutscenes); Using an Astrarium or Oculara; while traveling through an area
Confirmed Locations: Hinterlands, Crestwood, Storm Coast, Fallow Mire
Frequency: Random. Sometimes 30min, sometimes 1hr 30min (no consistent time frame)
PC Specs:
Windows 7 64bit
AMD XFX HD 6870 1gb

(PS4) Im trying to complete way of the tempest. I have 3/3 for each of the required items but the lines are not showing complete. As such I cant turn in the quest and get my spec.
Any fixes?

Ok, question. There are some points of the game where my character, and the others, look like they are trying to run through thick molassas (In others words, it almost looks like slow motion) and during cutscenes it's like that's almost moving through slow motion but when they talk, they look fine (mouth fits the words). Is this the FPS drop you guys are talking about?
Also, I have a near top of the line Alienware laptop. It has two NVidia 765M's in it (though I am only running one card, I shut off SLI earlier today). I have 8 gigs of ram and an i7 intel processor. I'm not home right now so I can't give the full specs.

I forgot to mention that yes, all my drivers are up to date. And sometimes, the slowness of the movement goes away and comes back. But it comes and goes. happened in Val Royeux earlier.

Well ... again, for graphics crashes, having the most recent version of DirectX may not be what you want. I navved to \Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\vc and installed all three redists I found there, all of which are out of date, but after I did that, the replicable gfx crash I was getting stopped happening.
Of course, a new dialogue bug surfaced immediately after that, but maybe this will help someone.

I have been trying to play my game for the past 24 hours and have had no luck. I can not continue my saved game because whenever I try, the stupid game tells me to wait until it has fully installed. I have tried:
Deleting the game data and then reinstalling
Waiting at the title screen for hours for this mysterious unfinished installation to finish
Rebuilding my PS4s database after deleting game data, then reinstalling
Trying to start the game pre-patch
Creating a new character and trying to load my saved game for this character from there
Can someone please help me out here?

I started experiencing this after getting to Skyhold. But it happens at random times and locations. I will look at my inventory or something, then when I return to the game everything is slow, even going back into inventory or other menu options. I am forced to quit the game and reload to correct it. I did not have this problem in any of my characters until getting to Skyhold. I have characters I just started and do not have that problem with them. It does not seem to be a frame rate issue. Just that everything moves slow, even menu access.

So, I was having absurdly low framerates on all levels of graphical settings with a system that should not have issues with the game (i5-4690k, R9 270). At best, I'd eek out 10 fps going from pretty high settings to fairly low settings. Then I stumbled on something that basically made my fps what it should be, increasing it across the board 20-30 fps. I really have no clue why this works, but it does (my psu can more than handle what my rig is running).
In my "Intel Rapid Storage Technology" settings (under Performance for me) I enabled "Link Power Management."
If you are also having issues with framerates and are using an Intel chipset, you could consider downloading (and using these drivers, I guess) and trying this to fix your fps issues; http://www.intel.com...sftwr-prod/imsm. I actually have no clue what you would have to DL (perhaps it just comes with the drivers? I do not know, my drivers came from my mobo's support disc) to get the settings management program on your computer (it's called IAStorUI), but it should looks something close to this when you open the program.
(Note: I do not use an ssd, and I've heard enabling link power management can make the thing wonky, so may not be a great solution for ssd users).
And again, I have no clue why this works, so user beware, I guess.

New build, computer fans go crazy as soon as I launch DAI. Spent a loooong time in the CC, and then even before the first dialog appears, it crashes dxgi_error_device_hung. I wish you could save the game or at least the CC profile, before the prologue actually starts. That's 2 hours wasted (not to mention either the mouse controls are borked in the CC or there is some elusive key combo that eludes me). Will try again to create a character but if it crashes again, I'm waiting for a patch.

This may have been posted already but experienced the female voice change "mid-game" yesterday. Went from American to British accent. It occurs post-Hawke customization. I ended up going to my save just prior to Hawke-meetup and redoing it with the default version and that seemed to resolve matters. Perhaps not the ideal "fix" especially for those ultra-attached to their custom Hawke's but for me much less annoying than the voice switch. Remember to save prior to talking to "chest-hair" in order to have this fallback position.

Get béta driver for AMD cards when having DirectX errors? You are kidding me right? If you don't have an RX 270/290 or later model, you're SOL when it comes to using the beta drivers.
Yeah beta drivers aren't a 'resolve' of the issue when the problem is crap implementation of the current latest stable drivers. note that beta drivers have no guarantees of not ruining other programs on your computer or stopping your hardware from working period. They have no warranty and no representations of actual functionality. They are beta.
The resolution would be to fix whatever Bioware's underlying detection engine is for the mantle api on the current WHCL driver sets. It is far too much work to uninstall and re-install AMD graphics drivers. I mean you have to uninstall their install manager for god's sake. AMD really needs to get a handle on its driver updating. I shouldn't have to do anything other than click "install". Hell I shouldn't even have to restart the damned system.
So Bioware...make a phone call to AMD and tell them to get a better handle on their driver packages. Maybe offer them some support. You must have a huge repository of DXDIAG analysis in your databases for debugging. That and hardware surveys from Origin. Maybe consider partnering with them on the level that NVIDIA does with other game companies. Just saying...

It seems as though the PC is having more pressing issues related to stability of the game so they're likely prioritizing to fix that first then they'll move to other bugs and glitches all of the versions are dealing with. So you'll have to be patient, they'll get to it
And the PC fan base - or at least part of it - is of the view that all the attention is not on the PC. So there's no way of winning.

[PC]
- If (or more likely, when) your game stops responding to mouse clicks in dialogues, inventory, wartable, etc. alt-tab out/in the game to fix this.
- If you did any cfg file tweaking and your mouse no longer works in gameplay, you most likely have enabled raw mouse input. Quit the game and Origin, set raw input back to 0 and restart.
- If you have dual monitors, you would have noticed the game doesn't lock cursor to it's window. To avoid constantly clicking out of it, download the excellent Dual Monitor Tools (A must have for any multi monitor setup) and use the Swap Screen utility to set a hotkey for locking mouse movement to the current monitor manually.
