Hair texture bug upon wearing hats/helmets

They can simply cut off the part of the hair where it'd clip with the hat. It's not hard to do

Once again. They CAN'T 'simply cut part of the hair'. There is either a hair model or a hat one. One can not have both. 'Simply cut the hair; means 'make a hat model that has a variation for each hair model attached to the hat'+'repeat for each hat and helmet one can possibly get'. So that players don't get their buns and tails sticking out through the hat, and no other messy clipping occurs. 

 

 

Having some sort of medium-length generic hairstyle combined with the hat would be imo better solution

 

It's entirely possible that the engine has issues with using variables (hair color) combined with a hat slot item model.

I get this too.... I didn't think it was a bug though. I've seen other people's screenshots where it's black instead of white.

It's entirely possible that the engine has issues with using variables (hair color) combined with a hat slot item model.

I don't think that's likely, given the *hair* which goes in the same slot of the model (the hair effectively *is* a 'hat') doesn't display such issues. It's ultimately down to programmers/shader people/artists to sort this kind of stuff out. They can choose not to, but it's then a choice that's a fair game to complain about.

There is actually a mod at the Nexus that turns the whitish cap to leather. It takes some work to set up mods, and only this one actually worked for me, but now I can have my Inquisitor wearing his cowl without me twitching about the weird color in the gap.
