Hey everyone,

Long time reader - rare poster.

Long story short, I'm playing a Qunari warrior. He was built with the intent to tank - Cassandra really took that roll. Went to two hander and became SUPER bored. In the end my mind went wandering and started to consider other options.

I'm looking to switch out - just feel guilty about wasted time - suggestions to not be so bored with a two hander or possible classes to ramp up excitement?

I feel the same, actually. My only regret is that I can't keep the face I made for my character via face code when I remake. Is there anyway to keep his features? 'Cause gotta admit I made a pretty good looking Inquisitor! :P

But yes the Rogue classes, particularly duel-wield look very fun. I think duel-wield rogue and mage are probably the most fun classes in the game, for mine.

It's funny though cause I went into the game having the same logic as you did, OP. Ah well, least we get cool swords.

I know right? Ascetics mean a lot to me as well, I don't mind re-rolling I just want to make sure I am moving to better not worse.

I've always enjoyed a rogue class in the other games - never played an archer before hence the curiosity. Plus being a rogue in general allows me to switch.

I ALWAYS play a mage - every game, nerding out with DnD, in the bed roo...Yep only games... Anyway, I felt like something new.

Why dont you just respec Cassandra to 2handers and you stay the tank! :D

To respec, you have to buy an amulet near the smith in Haven. It's like a golden pole on the right side of the armor crafting bench I believe.

Dont let the npcs decide what role you want to play!

From the looks of it our player can tank just as well as Cassandra which is nice.

Interesting. I did not know this! Thanks! I still have 4 in my group and playing a 2H Warrior sucks a bag of Quinari dicks. But I see Cassandra going crazy all over the place tearing **** up. I too have put in too much time to restart already.. and i play a Warrior in EVERY game I every played. Never liked Rogues. Tankiing was fun in DA:O and DA2. Hell, I even did play throughs as a Sword and Board DPS warrior in both games!

I make a thread about going Ranger but I dislike ranged DPS in any game. I LOVE to play melee but not a back stabbing assassin... DW Warriors 4L!

I hope the next companion I find is a ranged DPS so I can ditch Cassandra. I wanna bang leiliana this game anyway cause she was so hard to in DA:O a few play through! ..... and Morrigan caught me and stopped giving it up too.... lol

To be fair, your party will do VERY well with 2 tanks. I'm a SnB tank, though dipping in Battlemaster for more of a DPS tank style, and together with Cassandra we make a great team.

The SnB abilities are pretty sweet, quite frankly.

Hey everyone,

Long time reader - rare poster.

It's certainly not wasted time as you will have learned plenty about the map, enemies, different skills etc which will only help you in your new class.

As for excitement one of the things i find about warriors in all games i play is that if they don't have gap closers then imo they turn out to be too tiresome trudging over to enemy after enemy who just warps or jumps away.

I've been playing a Mage in a 2 Mage party with a SnB warrior and Archer and i have to say Cassandra is so damn good that i'm about to make a SnB warrior and with Charging Bull skill i doubt it will be boring, at least not for me.

That Vanguard tree has some fantastic skills and passives and i'm really looking forward to my new PC.

Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Absolutely.

I started with my go to, a dual wield rogue.  Playing on the PC though, with KB+Mouse and the gimpy tac cam, I found staying in melee range, in flanking position, way too tedious to keep going with.  I think the issue with the tac cam not zooming out would also bother me with an archer, so I shelved the idea of starting one of those.

Restarted as both a 2h War and a Mage and am trying to decide which one of them to focus on.  Tac cam limitations affect the Mage more, I think so I am leaning Warrior.

I actually respec my two hander and made him into a sword and shield.  I found that I preferred to be Blackwall in some serious combat situations that were not boss fights.  Being able to draw agro and control the battlefield as the tank was a lot more fun than DPSing as a two hander.  This was probably the first time I enjoyed being a tank in a DA game.  Granted, I know you can tank as a two-hander.

I also am very impressed by tanking abilities against dragons.
