The game play feels pretty solid and so does the combat system, however I am really disapointed with how the armor looks =( I am only lvl 7, with all of 2 different patterns or different looks I can find for heavy armor so far, and they all look horrible.
What happened to the real solid looking armor from DA1/DA2?? Sorry Bioware, but this armor looks like some plastic super shiny stuff I would expect to see at a Halloween costume store.
I feel like this game is confused with it's French like feel for costumes and looks. Now if the armor is supposed to start looking like it did in DA1/2 in the late game, that would be something to look forward to, however I have a good 10+ hours into the game, a lot of exploration done, with over 8+ companions to choose from now, and a very bland palet of options.
I also notice that my companions always keep the same armor look, regardless of what armor I give them, why?? I have 1 warrior companion who has what litterally looks like a small shiny plastic chest guard on top of what somewhat looks like leather armor.
I made a super shiny tier 2 shield that looks like something out of an origami class! Seriously devs, not sure what you were thinking but these textures and look are killing the game play experience for me =(
---------------------------------------------
Upgrading weapons seems to have some major bugs, as I get a sense that the verbage being used in the tier 2 upgrades are not set correctly with their hooks to point as viable upgrade pieces for the corosponding weapon(s). Example, I have a few tier 2 "grip" recipies for 1H longswords that I made, however when I make tier 2 longsword, I only have the option to use the tier 1 grip, with no offering to actually use the tier 2 grips I made and can even see them in my inventory.
Feels like there are plenty of crafting bugs you folks need to resolve along with getting some help with textures on armor. DA1/2 felt far more immersive with the look and feel of the armor and weapons, while DAI so far feels like some over the top costume party with super shiny gear that looks like plastic and no actual feel like real gear.
