I'm in need of help. The game is quite overwhelming. I love it. But I need help.
I need schematics for mage armour AND weaponry. I know how to find most of the crafting elements.
Also, I have yet to find a single rune. Do you just buy those? Find them? Both?
What I need to know are locations to find or buy good schematics for mage stuff. I'm a rogue, but Vivi, Solas, and Dorian are in dire need of better weapons and armour.
Honestly, any help on finding better armour/weapons or making better armour/weapons would be appreciated.

You don't get the ability to make runes until after the story quest that wraps up the first act of the game. As for schematics, you find them a lot in loot and vendors sell them. If I remember correctly there's a vendor in Redcliffe that sells low level ones.
Also, so far in my experience, the weapons and armor you find in loot are far better than what you can craft until you start getting the higher teir materials. I would just buy upgrades for now until you can craft worthwhile gear and upgrades.

If Val Royeaux is open to you, head there and buy the schematics. There is merchant that sells the Enchanter Mail, Coat and Armor schematic. They're 2-3K gold each though. So bring your gold!
