What in your life ever convinced you that things must be numerically balanced at all times?

Cassandra > Cullen + Solas + Blackwall + Sera, let alone with the other LIs available to men. Even if you only do straight romances, the odds are clearly forever in our favor.
You didn't address his point, at all.
Actually, he/she did, by treating it as an utterly ridiculous point not worthy of discussion.
Don't play a straight male then. It's called role playing for a reason.
So she is some Tsundere ice queen goddess that my Inquisitor has to failingly flirt with and try to please at every occasion only to get some tiny reciprocation at the end ?
A cost benefit analysis on the Inquisitor's part will show that the costs of romancing Cassandra outweigh the benefits. For one thing my Inquisitor is pro mage, he allied with the rebel mages, he is not keen on this herald superstition nonsense, he is not religious, he is not the type to who likes to take direct frontal action without thinking about it, he is not the type to take things too seriously, he is not into romantic smutty literature and poems.
To romance Cassandra would mean my Inquisitor has to essentially suspend his personality and be a hopelessly romantic puppy dog. Which I will not do.
So you hate ice queens...but like Morrigan.
???
Of the three I've seen, only Blackwall's was decent. Somewhat. You'd think since Bioware places a premium on the romance aspect, they'd put more work into the scenes that matter. Instead it all seems rushed and the character models and animations are awful. There are so many better ways to do it. It's just a small aspect of the game overall but when it's this bad, why do it in the first place?
The reason theres so many topics about this is because so many people are upset or annoyed by it. I know i am.
Is there a way to block seeing threads like this?
Christ, straight boys like the OP can be such babies if they're not given the lion's share of anything.
eh personally i like romances in this game, and i'm playing as a straight male gamer playing as a straight male PC.
i've some how turned cass into a raving Alco and jose is part of the Disney-quistion theme.
and without bar i have no idea how close i am to nailing either of them.
I'm actually ashamed to be a part of the "straight male" demographic because of this... I read this great article about a week ago that touched upon the subject of gamers and the feeling of entitlement. Nothing reminds me of this more than this topic right now. It's always "GIVE US" and "WE DESERVE"....
Sit down, seriously. You're embarrassing yourself.

I cancelled my pre-order before I ever got to the romances, but after looking up some videos and posts about them, I don't think I've missed anything. They all feel like badly-written sitcoms.

Well, as a straight male gamer, I have to say that I very much enjoyed Cassandra's romance. It was warm feels all the way through.
romances should just be cut to save us all the headaches

Hey, I don't want to have content I enjoy removed because someone whines about it.

Sure people enjoy it, but its not key to anything in the game, its flavor, and in my opinion its time to just cut it loose

Whilst I agree, removing the romances won't make this forum any less whiny.Sure people enjoy it, but its not key to anything in the game, its flavor, and in my opinion its time to just cut it loose

Flavor is important, flavor is what make the game feel organic and alive, romances are one of the ways to achieve it, but somEthing like a random house actually having a kitchen, a fire, a desk and a bed also provides flavor;

Sadly, the statu quo in the industry about beauty standards is what conditioned all those people into only one way to think things.
Hopefully if other companies join Bioware into shaking things up, more people will grow to accept it.
Oh that's complete BS. It's not just the video game industry that has beautiful women. It's TV shows, movies, even books generally describe their characters as good looking. When was the last time you read a book with an overweight main character? Seriously. When we engage in fantasy stories we don't want to have to see ugly characters. RPG games have always been like watching movies or reading books, only we get to choose some of the actions along the way.
It's no wonder that people are balking at the ugly women we have to chose from. It takes away from the enjoyment of the story. You can take some morally superior high road that makes you feel special, but it's dumb. People are looking for attractive people in their escapes from reality. We're not looking for more reality.
The amount of eye rollage I've experienced while reading all these posts from people defending the use of ugly characters is staggering.

That's some serious tinfoil hat thinking about Bioware's status quo. I hope no other devs follows their example.
